We’re almost there...
Your patience will soon be rewarded.
Considerably.
It’s so funny how excited we all are by a piano roll, but I’m right there with you! 😂
Me too. Drambo was a quantum leap forward, then we had DrumComputer, now Loopy Pro and Atom 2 are about to drop. Forgive me if I've missed some...
The capabilities of iOS music apps seem massively larger than 12 months ago, and expectations and anticipation seem to have risen accordingly. I still struggle to comprehend that these tools are so cheap vs similar desktop apps
That sound like it has not been released to Apple yet which I thought already happened, days ago?
I demand an investigation!
Glad you saw the funny side
I’m looking forward to this as well.
Crazy isn’t it! I think this year will see things really start to change for the platform. Lots of people are making videos showing all of this amazing new stuff which is the best way to bring new folk to the platform. Prices are gradually rising for the more serious apps (rightfully so). I can see a point where apps finally become more financially viable in the not too distant future.
Then we get ableton and logic probably!
I meant "we're almost there" In a collective sense.
I'm scared to type anything in this thread for fear it will be misconstrued.
Now all go make yourselves a coffee and chill out.
Ha Ha I done just that !

Atom 2 is under review.
Check out these incredible slides brought to you by none other than @tk32.
Oh my...
Very cool
Stunning work @tk32 👌
This is going to change iOS music making! Amazing.
Hooray. It looks amazing.
Brilliant, what time is it in Cupertino. Do we need to wake them up?
Nice work on the graphics @tk32, looks pro!
Is the magic clipboard compatible with other DAWs then or am I reading that incorrectly? For example, can I copy/paste MIDI between Xequence 2 and Atom 2? I would have thought each DAW has its own clipboard format (shame there is no standard, if so) so maybe this is not possible but I have often wished for the ability to copy MIDI from one DAW and paste it into another.
Perhaps for modular heads that like the modular mayhem. But I wouldn't bet on it making a splash in the grand scheme of things. My feeling is that most people prefer their classic DAWs
However, I truly appreciate the sentiment, it means a lot!
Blown away what a professional tool this is going to be. Thanks @blueveek and all involved in development and beta testing.
Ah, it's worth clarifying this, it's good that you brought it up. Clipboard only works between Atom instances at the moment, but it doesn't matter where those instances are loaded (same project, different projects, different hosts).
This never crossed my mind really, but the implementation might actually be worth investigating!
That light theme reminds me of Ableton Live !
@blueveek Thanks, that makes sense. Clipboard between instances will still be a powerful thing to have available. I suppose if I use Atom 2 as a replacement piano roll in my DAWs then in effect I get what I was asking for anyway!
Beautiful work @blueveek, @tk32, @winconway, and to the other contributors/testers.
@MisplacedDevelopment - You could perhaps pipe your Xequence 2 output into Atom 2, capture the MIDI and then put it into Atom's clipboard (or export to a MIDI file).
I use a similar technique to render my Pure Acid drum patterns into MIDI files.
@tk32 Now that Atom supports import/export then I'll probably go the file route. I'm guessing I could even export MIDI from a DAW and import it into an instance of Atom loaded in the same DAW. Lots of possibilities
Wouldn't be so sure... I'm sure all of the iOS musicians, love the modular aspect of all of this. Personally I have all the DAWs and haven't yet found a workflow which really works 100% for me... (Maybe 100% isn't achievable) However, the use of the new Atom in AUM looks to resolve many of the issues as far as I can tell.
Worth the wait I'm sure.
I'm very excited that we will soon be able to welcome all the users in this thread into the (deep) world of Atom2.
I can't wait to see all the cool things you guys do with it, and the ways you will explore and experiment with the depths of integration and customisation that there simply wasn't time for us beta testers to fully play with.
I have a feeling Drambo and Atom may become good friends.
Drambo and Atom2.... Now there's a thought
