What does covid have to do with this. Why does being politically correct enter this sort of discussion.
Thanks for documenting the shift from "intent" to "reality" with plans pivoting to other priorities. Optimism is not a bad thing. But holding a developer to your expectations is
often a bad thing. Most devs are quite diligent... but terrible estimators of the work required.
The bad devs just ship crap to save face or generate income or at the highest levels of the market... to protect share price.
It sounds like Matt was responding to his most dedicated users requests.
Sometimes it's mission impossible to find balance between user requests, own idea of where app should go and resources for realising all plans, ideas and requests .. But it is like it is, you can never satisfy everybody, so you have to pick who will be happy and who unhappy with your decisions (this is life truth, not just related to developement
)
Onya @dendy. Thx for the info. I thought it was just another classic case of peeps not taking responsibility for their own choices.
Wow, what an incredibly dick thing to say. All @dendy did was to reassure those that were wondering if he’s OK that he is. Whether or not he is ill does have a bearing on your original question even if you don’t care on a personal level like some of us do. And wtf does mentioning COVID-19 have to do with political correctness?
No need to be an asshole. It was a sincere attempt to answer people’s questions.
[edit. Sorry, that was harsher than it should have been.]
Actually, that’s a bit of misinformation in itself. From a direct quote on here (from you, I think):
“audio tracks - they’re sheduled for summer 2019... matt already needed to release it (and people asked for it a lot) .. there is already some preparation for audio tracks inside code, so definitely its one of most important milestones for next year... difference ween ns1 and ns2 is that with ns2 audio tracks (and many other features which will one day come) were part of plan from very beginning of app developement, so app is ready for such improvement”
“sheduled for summer 2019”, and apparently “ready for such improvement”.
No doubt they’ll be an attempt now to justify that one. Maybe we’ll have the £30 cup of coffee quotes again, a dismissal of the benefits of any kind of promotional activity whatsoever yet complaints about low returns, or random coding arguments? Maybe we can call people names again?
Harsh.
This forum is getting decidedly unfriendly. At best, it’s turning into an echo chamber, and as such losing value for those of us who like to hear views from all sides.
Off again, see ya!
who cares? use it as it is, or don’t. if you love it great, if you dont, too bad. none of us are gonna walk away right or wrong with this pointless thread. If NS2 gets audio, i’ll be overjoyoed. If not, its great as it is. As long as it doesnt get abandoned i’m happy.
Off again? Jeez, perhaps the forum should have a sticky for those who want to 'announce' they're leaving....and then come back....then leave again...then pop back.....! (Echo's into the distance!)
I think this playground should be closed, toys back in their boxes and have a nice cup of £30 coffee to calm down!
I'm off - again! Ha!
Yeh. Name calling was more than was called for. Too late to undo now but yes, I wish I had toned that one down.
Didn’t say I was leaving Mister, just don’t spend much time here anymore. I wonder why that is.
Ok bro.
Well I would like audio tracks too but as the world doesn't revolve around me I can accept that the iphone version and other updates were more important to the other users of NS2.
“You may not haaaaaaaaaave ... audio tracks at allllll,
But just remember, brothers and sisters, you can still make music tall,
Just be thankfulllllll... for what you’ve got”
If NS2 had audio tracks and midi clock out I would delete all my other DAWs.
Lol. So true. Drama queens
“Might only be beer money to you”
It’s astonishing how people with iPad full of apps can claim poverty, have a look at the world around you and count your blessings instead of moaning
I know it feels good to have a moan but it probably makes sense to ask about audio tracks (and AU FX automation!) over on the Blip Interactive forum where the developer might actually read it. I don’t think he’s ever posted here has he?
Otherwise it’s just a lot of hot air really isn’t it?
https://www.blipinteractive.co.uk/community/
Why? I just bought the app 2 days ago, have finished a song about half way while learning the app, and am completely happy with it. Assuming you didn't mean "anyone".
You bought an app that didn't do what you needed because why exactly?
Apparently the IAP are broken under iOS 14 so the dev pushing out a fix to sort it. Proves he still working.
He should also remove all midi functionality while he’s at it, because he’s had it up to here with all this drama.
That poor nail, why would you hit it on the head like that?
I've not used this app for a long while, did it ever get the fix for the midi fx chain bug?
So can you use multiple midi fx in a chain together successfully? This was the bug which made me lose interest.
Why wouldn't you wait until the developer delivered on audio tracks?
See what I think happened is that you saw it was on sale and decided to take a gamble. You reasoned you could get a discount by effectively buying it in advance.
Which is fine, I've done the same myself in the past. But I also recognize that behavior for what it is - a gamble.
But to put this in context you're complaining that an app that you bought for $10, and which you admit has a nice synth (which you can still use through IAA/Audiobus), has not delivered on features that are currently only available in $40 apps.
That's the complaint?
The irony is strong with this one.
Probably not. The AU3 stuff annoys me more than the audio stuff TBH. Though none of the DAWs seem to be able to handle AU3s well for some reason.
While early purchasers of NS2 can be rightfully steamed that the audio track IAP hasn’t been released more than a year after the originally projected release. I can’t see how recent purchasers can be steamed about that. It has long been known that it isn’t imminent or happening soon.
