Yes, that's absolutely my goal as well. It would just scream "illogical" to me if this happened on iPhone and not on iPad.
If you're really eager to find out, why not plug headphones (or a dangling line-out cable, if the iPad 6 still has a headphone jack) into it, set device volume to maximum, and then play a loud audio file (just some song in the "Music" app or whatever) on "Repeat" for a bit. In my tests, that forced an automatic lowering of device volume in a matter of minutes.
Never experienced this, Air 3, Settings -->Music -->Playback -->Volume Limit=On, set approx. 7/8 or so. Give or take. With headphones and/or interface.
It probably won't happen with Volume Limit "on", as that limited volume is likely not loud enough to be considered "dangerous".
(the "Volume Limit" option is a separate feature that has nothing to do with this problem.)
It “has to do” with a possible solution/workaround for the volume level problem.
I’ve just taken the plunge on my pro 10.5 from 13 to 14.2 based on everything running smoothly on my Pro 11 2018. It was a mistake it seems.
The iPad stopped recognising my zoom U44 and icons of AU apps are no longer there. I’m so pissed off with myself (and the whole iOS bullshit) that I cannot even be bothered to check if it all works. I feel it’s time to put off my Audiobus career until Loopy Pro comes out or a proper looper hits Drambo.
Has anyone had these problems or even a solution?
Cheers
You have shut down and restarted?
Yep, then started all of the apps separately and gave network permissions. Then I switched to a different usb cable and the interface got recognised but then swapped back to the old one and it is working now....mmm maybe an intermittent cable. Ok, the icons are still weird but at least everything seems to be working. Phew.
I hate this shit!!
Cheers @espiegel123
I’ve been getting this on 14.3 beta as well. Glad I’m not the only one, though listing IAAs isn’t working as a fix. Only have this issue in my iPhone, bot either of the iPads. Audio Units will display for a while right after reinstalling AUM, but some random time later I’ll get a message saying there are no AUs installed if I try to load one into a channel.
Edit: No host on my iPhone will load AUs, filed a bug report with Apple after realizing this has been a bug since at least the last beta of 14.2.
That’s not exactly great news about 14.3 🤬
The non-beta iOS /iPadOS 14.3 is out. Anyone dared to install it? How’s are music apps running? Better? Worse?
I haven’t upgraded to 14.x at all yet (still on 13.6.1 on a 10.5 Pro). This thing with the disappearing AU icons seems to the the only real problem left. Is that right?
And does it affect everyone? All the time? It’s a bit hard to determine that from the posts I can find across this forum.
One final thing: do Nave and Thor still work fine? I couldn’t find that anywhere either.
Apparently iOS/iPadOS14.4 will drop later today...
Wonder if it will include any AUv3 fixes?
I'm on the same iOS build on the same device ... asking the same question!
I've had the disappearing AUv3 icons thing happen a few (<10) times since iPadOS14 dropped and the fix is to reboot the iPad.
I'm on an ancient iPad Air 2 loaded with >400 apps.
Don't know where to find in-depth release information but I guess some of the developers will chime if a bug they have reported is fixed or not
iOS/iPadOS/TvOS 14.4 just dropped...
...If I bump into issues I'll chime in otherwise I'll stay quiet regarding iOS/iPadOS14.4
Sorry to revive this dead thread / question, but can someone with all the PPG apps tell me if they run on iOS 14?
Apparently so; there was a thread about this the other day.
