what is that supposed to mean anyway?
    when was America great?
when black folks had to sit in the back of the bus?
    during the Cold War?

its all just bs that means nothing.
distract people with bs, thats the strategy the orange man is driving for years.

We were pretty great when we helped stop the Germans in WWI.

I think we were pretty great during World War II when we again helped Europe stop the Germans and Japan from taking over the world. We were also pretty great in helping rebuild Europe after WWII with the Marshall plan.

We were pretty great when when we signed the civil rights act in 1964, great when we rallied and sent a man to the moon in 69, and pretty great by helping bring down the Berlin wall by winning the Cold War with the soviets.

  • And America has been truly hideous over the past four years.

Refusing to make any sacrifices whatsoever to protect others from from a world pandemic.

Imagine if WWII would have waited until 2016???

Ration gasoline, butter, sugar, bacon and canned milk for years? Hell no! I'm getting mine!

Germany invaded Western Europe? That's their problem! Fight your own damn battle!!! AMERICA FIRST!!!

Japan would have never attacked Pearl Harbor — because Donnie loves him some dictators!

How can I be of service to you Mr. Hirohito?!?!?! Introduce me to Adolph and that Mussolini guy they seem pretty awesome — I think we can be bigly successful!

Hey yah think you guys can pulll some strings to help me win re-election???

Robert is right about the great things we once did. Thanks to Trump and his minions I seriously doubt we'll ever be great like that again.

    So very, very sad.

By the time Donald Trump’s term ends in 2020, the country will have been led by an Ivy League graduate from 1988—2020. That’s 32 years of unbroken White House rule by graduates of schools that educate a statistically insignificant number of all college students. (It's also 32 years of rising income inequality.)

And when it comes to staffing the federal government, Ivy League alumni tend to appoint fellow alumni.

The Obama administration has appointed a disproportionate number of Ivy League graduates to important positions—but educational elitism isn’t just restricted to one party.

Donald Trump’s version of Harry Hopkins—the powerful advisor and right-hand man—Stephen Bannon, he of the vocally anti-elitist Breitbart News, is a Harvard Business School graduate. Three of Trump’s four adult children—arguably his closest advisors—all graduated from the same Ivy League school their father attended.

A First Family preference for the Ivy League is nothing new: during 20 of those 32 years (the administrations of George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama) the presidency was held by someone whose father also graduated from an Ivy League school.

  • I don’t think the Civil Rights Act is an example of America being great. It’s shameful that it had to be enacted in the first place.

We've been pretty great at fighting every other country's wars for them and being the police force for the world for decades. That is one thing that Trump has changed because he's the first president in about 40 years that hasn't started or entered a military conflict during his entire administration. That is one of the real reasons he's hated because he's killing the military industrial complex and brokering peace in places in the world that aren't supposed to have peace.

Anyways, I'll be voting in person on election day as I have for every presidential election since I turned 18

I voted yesterday. I felt like crying afterwards.

This post above trips me out. It legitimately is a good thing (the one) about Trump. Maybe Hillary wouldn't have started a war either but it's hard to say, war is quite traditional in our terrible government. That doesn't make up for botching Covid and ultimately helping to kill a bunch of people, dismantling the EPA, etc etc.

I voted knowing America will be what I make it regardless which prick wins.

We the People have, and will always have the most power to change our realities.

There is no Again, or going backward possible.

The real truth is that we have no choice, just illusion of choice. The president is a figurehead. Whoever is in office for 4-8 years doesn't matter because there are unelected people in other parts of the government who are in their positions for life that have more power over our lives then the president or any elected representative. But we do all have the power to change our own realities in our minds. People can chose to think that things like politics and governments are controlling their lives or people can chose free will.

Highly commendable is Trump, for instigating hatred amongst his fellow Americans and just about every international friend, also commendable that he stood back and allowed Russia, Russia, Russia to start those wars.

I am befuddled why a man who has lived his entire life through transactional relationships rather than friendships would purposefully alienate longtime allies. And he has certainly done that.

Trump is as far from a “Conservative” as you can get. That’s why it’s so absurd.

I get that you’re frustrated. But,... “as far from conservative as you can get”? How do you figure?

  • Voted last weekend. Put it in the mailbox. Easy as can be here in WA state.

  • Yeah Stone not a conservative, too?!?!

MFer has a Richard Nixon tat on his back!

You live in Ft. Lauderdale, @WillieNegus???

  • I’ll vote in person, looking forward to Election Day. I do want to see a change in President, but I agree with those who posted about choosing free will rather than waiting for a politician to tell me what I need to do or think. I just happen to feel that Trump is a con man who has lived his whole portraying an illusion of success, when in fact all he has done is run things into the ground.

I also agree it’s all theater, where the actors will say or do anything that puts money in their pocket. It’s been happening for a long long time and it’s a shame that public service is such an alien concept to must in those positions.

  • @WillieNegus Used to be.

Worked at the Sun-Sentinel for a dozen years or so, so I know where most of the slime is.

Guessing you're in Las Olas Isles, no?

  • I thought the scenery in your pic look familiar!

Yeah, Vctoria is bad as well.

Las Olas had an awesome little music scene back then.

O'Hara's Jazz & Blues Cafe, The Poor House, Voodoo lounge, and of course the Riverwalk Blues Festivale.

Also great restaurants and my favorite: Gran Forno Bakery! Good times!

Look to a man’s actions not words. Especially when a man is one of NYs most legendary Hustlers and known liar.

2 of Trumps wives were non citizens, and 3 of his children are anchor babies but he’s all anti immigrant and anti anchor baby right? Sure.lol. As long as the immigrants aren’t brown or f**kable? Mmhmm.

Christian Values? Trump doesn’t believe in God unless his name is Trump. The man clearly has no moral values whatsoever. From Stormy and his countless hoes he’s anything but Christ like. Anyone with marginal intelligence knows this man doesn’t have a moral or Christian bone in his body. Just knows people who do are believers and quite easily swayed to uhhh believe.

His whole flagship Towers in NY was inhabited by NYs “Liberal elite which is why it’s half empty now.

He was a very good friend and supporter of Bill and Hillary and everyone kinda knows that.

He actually called Obama “a strong and competent leader” before seeing birthirism as his path to WH which was always a goal.

Read his 2009 book Think Like a Champion where he heaped plenty of praise on ol Barry and I mean PLENTY.

In a 2004 interview, Trump told CNN's Wolf Blitzer: "In many cases, I probably identify more as Democrat," explaining: "It just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans. Now, it shouldn't be that way. But if you go back, I mean it just seems that the economy does better under the Democrats...But certainly we had some very good economies under Democrats, as well as Republicans. But we've had some pretty bad disaster under the Republicans."[5] In a July 2015 interview, Trump said that he has a broad range of political positions and that "I identify with some things as a Democrat."[4]

The above sourced from Wikipedia and if it were false he or a croney would have changed it dont ya think?

Trumps voting record is public record. It’s as inconsistent and bipolar as he is. Switched parties a bunch of times. Hardly the Conservative hardliner.

Also, Brad. Brad got very up close and personal which is kinda necessary when you’re his Campaign Manager don’t cha think? Look up Brads History. Sound like the perfect Conservative Presidents Manager material to you? Sure.

I don’t really care if you or anyone supports him. Your Rights, Your Vote . He’s a muppet like all presidents are. He’s just a morally and financially bankrupt one which IMO is no bueno.

Either way...he’ll be gone soon enough regardless of what happens in Nov. I just look forward to the country taking a big chill pill whenever that is and moving back to a more classy and mature disposition.

He also doesn’t give a damn about running up the deficit. That is supposed to be heresy to the conservative philosophy. Or I guess I should say,
    the alleged conservative philosophy.

What you know about Gran Forno!!!

I’m either there for coffee and pastry or believe it or not...The Flo(ridian) almost every morning. Best omelets in town.

Things were really picking up before Covid as far as the music and arts scene. That’s actually why I came down. Invested in a studio in Fat Village years ago and things expanded. It’s still growing but obviously slowed down considerably.

Used to love watching Dr. Lonnie Smith at OHara's. He was pretty much the house band there for years...

Gran Forno's vegetable focaccia is awesome, as are their sandwiches!

I spent many a late night at The Floridian. Awesome omelettes! (And pretty much everything else)

If we weren't there, we'd go to Lester's Diner. At the time there was a Cowboy Bar and a gay/trans bar within blocks of it. It was also a favorite Lauderdale PD hangout. Hours upon hours of free entertainment as these three groups "interacted" with one another!

.....read Howard Zinn. Europeans came to this continent and murdered 4 million indigenous people just in continental US...to steal their land....possibly as high as 75 million in mesoamerica. Our founders were slave owners. George Washington's teeth weren't made of wood, they were pulled from the mouths of his slaves. Abraham Lincoln declared war, not to free the slaves, that was an afterthought, but to control the economic output of the southern states. We were only a part who defeating hitler, who was created by our banksters, which is why we were late to the party. The Soviet Union lost 20x more men in wwii than us. We were the first and only war criminals to use an atomic bomb on innocent civilians, and then Truman lied to the world saying Nagasaki and Hiroshima were military populations. After the war we brought in 1500 nazi war criminals to work in cia. The cia was created by banksters. We've been war criminals ever since. Korea, Vietnam, Nicaragua, Yugoslavia. They murdered our own president who was trying to save the country from this criminal cartel. The Soviet Union was destroyed by blackops money funneled from cia drug dealing, and their industries were bought by US controlled oligarchs with the same funds. Then we murdered 3000 americans on american soil. But 911 wasn't even the first time. The Patriot Act destroyed the constitution, and put banksters in control. Then we invaded Iraq, murdered a million Iraqis, based on lies and deceit, to steal their oil. Afghanistan, Syria, Libya...the list goes on. All war criminal actions. Continuity of Govt runs america. Doesn't make a shxt whose elected. If they don't follow orders, they die...like paul wellstone, or get some anthrax in the mail like daschle and leahly. If the president has any power, where's that wall. I live in mexico, for 30 years. I want ya'll to get that wall done asap...to protect us from the hordes escaping when the US goes down. And it will go down. The people in control of this world are bringing her down. The corrupt politicans are bringing her down. And the brainwashed population are bringing her down. And both of these candidates are corrupt pos.

  • And now back to our regular programing...

  • yep...that's exactly what it's called...programming

  • @WillieNegus, I would add that Conservatives used to be big on fiscal responsibility, which Trump is not... beginning with his trillion and a half tax cut to the rich. The Republican Senate had no em with that.
