  • Feel free to post a vid to let us hear the sounds you have been getting with that!

  • I will, I hesitated as I thought it might be beta, but wim kindly saved me the trouble of swapping installs by checking overnight 😁

It certainly masks my ‘off kilter’ guitar playing if nothing else 🤣

  • Already an accidental peak preview of the new beta in my Skaka vid, I don't think there is anything secret there, tis stuff Bram announced he was adding already

  • It’s (shock horror) not raining here so going into the big room for a bit, I didn’t video it but recorded a stem of some noodling the other night

Saw it. I am excited for that. Don’t know if bram even put something more to it than just what the knob says. But even this is an incredible addition to the whole plugin! Can’t wait!

  • @Krupa great idea on the LFO, thanks. That guitar ambience track sounds lovely.

Cheers Luke, I need to be a bit more controlled with it but it’s lovely playing into that setup, like an inter-dimensional call and response machine :)

Wonderful! What beside Gauss is playing here (FX wise) some more tape modulations (DAW cassette, tape Pro and Therof?)

  • Cheers @david_2017 that new nembrini freebie before gauss and blackhole, possibly before, maybe after, possibly even both (I’ve been doing a take with it before to smooth out the loop and then dragging it below for extra bigness but I can’t remember in this instance if I did)

  • @Krupa thanks mate! Really wonderful lofi love going on there. Thanks for sharing... your track and your insight!

Cheers man, my pleasure, and lofi should be my middle name, in all respects... I just realised that I should maybe try an actual amp sim in front of the tape machine and it works really nicely, naybe it brings some of the real world ambience that Gauss’ creators imagined. Although it’s revealing more of my inaccurate playing than I’d care to share, I really need to nail these odd chord shapes I’ve been using...

Yeah! I've been enjoying sticking all kinds of amps, saturators etc before gauss in the chain 😍

I am not expert enough on amps to answer this, I have a bunch of the Nembrini ones, they all have their own flavour, I don't play electric guitar, I just use them to add flavour to synths, drums etc

Probably but since it was a subject of discussion in this thread, why not give it a try. after all it is related to gauss experimentations so i do not see the problem

Because it is a huge topic and tons has been written on this forum. IMO, it is t something that can’t be covered meaningfully in a few posts and hence would derail this thread about Gauss.

  • At the 20 page mark, you're srsly worried about derailing this thread? Well don't let me be THAT guy.

  • Haha, the posts here have mostly been pretty on topic I'd say @kidslow

What about a good old espresso ?

  • I don't think there is any 'best', it probably depends on the sound you are going for and whether you are using it really as a guitar amp or just to colour other sounds @mlau

Ok, for the pedal/controller guys, please verify... My current implementation of the RECORD behavior is "toggle" behavior:

    Push&Release* pedal: start recording
    Push&Release pedal again: stop recording

Is this how you expect it to work?

    Thanks!

    • the assumption is that "Push" sends a high CC value (e.g. 127) and "Release" sends a low CC value (e.g. 0) and possibly some values in between.
  • Yeah, that's how I'd anticipate it working in personally. It's what I'm used to from other hardware and software loopers (although I appreciate that Gauss isn't like other loopers so I don't necessarily expect the same approach).

  • When you say push & release will recording begin on the push or the release? Can I prime myself by pushing the pedal and then release when I’m ready to begin recording?

Yes, it will start on push, and then stop on the next push.

I’m trying to make the behavior the same as on other loopers, but I want to make sure I make the system as expected.

And I have one report telling me I have it wrong and it should start on CC value 127 and stop on CC value 0.

I have no experience with looper pedals, so I need all your input to get it right.

I would prefer for the toggle to happen on the push not the release, fwiw. If we are thinking of the pedal as a mouse, I want activation on mouseDown not on the mouseUp that ends the mouse click.

Yes, that’s how I have it now. But it requires a release before you can push again. The release itself doesn’t do anything.
