Wow! …wait that is the desktop version. Is there an import option on iOS too?

  • Awesome ! Thanks Wim!

  • Hello, I tried to find swing for a track but I could only find global swing. Is there swing per track? Thanks

  • I like Drumcomputer a lot but would like to be able to turn of the distortion/bitcrusher unit while randomizing a kit. Most of the time I feel that little piece is overdoing it.

This really opens up the possibilities, thanks! I just noticed the wavetable section has import too, but unfortunately it wouldn’t work with my serum wavetables.

Could be ambiguous use of the word "wavetable". I always thought that the word referred to files like your Serum wavetables that contain a collection of short waves that wavetable synths can use to cycle between. But apparently it's also a valid term for single waves as well, such as a single-cycle waveform that can be used as an oscillator.

I might have to try some of my AKWF single sample waveforms 'n see what happens.

  • From the manual:

The best thing about the Wavetable Oscillator is that it will convert any wave into a wavetable.

Open the wavetable menu and tap IMPORT. Wav files of any kind can be loaded

In the ideal case you prepared a waveform that performs a shift from low spectrum to high spectrum.

We will detect the included pitch and provide a wavetable containing 16 waveforms, that have been evenly picked out of the whole source waveform.

The resulting wavetables will be auto-saved into a user folder that will be generated. After 32 wavetables, the next user folder will be created (user1, user2 etc).

  • Awesome!

I just now tested it with Grooverider’s factory wavetables and those work great. GR-16 tables also import just fine in the resynth engine. I bet single cycle waveforms would work there too.

  • Hey! This seems like a very dumb question, but I cannot get drum computer to play patterns (from its own internal sequencer) in garageband. Works fine in everything else (AUM, cubasis, BM3, etc.). I find myself wanting to use 'garageband loops' as to my surprise it has more performance variation trigger options than BM3 and everything else I've tried (ie. global and local clip options).

I've tried triggering patterns using the 'pattern keys': C-2 to D#-1, this does successfully change the pattern in DC, but it never plays. I have play pressed in DC, I tried changing the clock start... I feel I must be missing something obvious... Anyone manage to get this to work?

  • @hat_cake Make sure that Settings > Clock Start = HOST

  • @mojozart Thanks, but... this does not work for me (hence my question! 😜). Have you succeeded in getting it to work?

  • I wasn’t really into DC until someone on here mentioned that they were having a blast with Riffer driving DC. I gave it a whirl and they were right. Riffer knocks out some crazy patterns that seem perfect for the mad kits in DC.

  • Thanks again, @mojozart but, this does not work for me. I open a fresh/empty 'live loops', put DC in the first slot, do exactly what you show. But nothing...

However, I've found a work around, which seems fine for me. If I put the DC clock-start on 'internal', and have a very long midi-note, which triggers the first pattern and then never goes off, then it works fine..

DrumComputer as standalone MIDI drum sequencer:

One thing I hadn't tried was using Drum Computer purely as a MIDI Sequencer, but it's easy enough to do.

Vatanator comes with a long list of kits and samples but no built-in sequencer, so I decided to sequence Vatanator with DC.

The only tricky part is the note mapping. This is documented in the Vatanator manual. (Oddly enough, the Vatanator AU and IAA employ two different mappings.)

Tip: The Vatanator mappings, as well as many others, are built into Xequence Pad AU, and various other apps, and are also documented in this forum.

Once the mapping is determined, it is easy to add it to DC. Just slide the notes around on the Mapping keyboard and save the new mapping.

  • Thanks @mojozart that info is very helpful

  • So,i bought the full version now and simply want to save own sounds to use in other kits. From my understanding it should be press“save“ in the menu on the left side. But as soon as i press it the menu just disappears and nothing happens…do i overlook something or is it maybe a bug in ios 15.1?

Don't have the app but I did try the free demo. Maybe tap the 'USER' at the bottom and then save...
(this since you can't create new folders/categories or over-write factory content).

  • I tried to tap the user folder as well without luck

Thanks for the reminder about vatanator. Forgot it even existed! And didn’t realise it had good samples in. Always looking for good drum samples.

Whenever this thread is updated, I always get slightly hopeful that DC has gone universal 😊

I just tried it, and got the same problem as you.
Seems to be a bug, not sure if it’s related to the Ios or the recent Drumcomputer update. Before those updates I was able to save individual drum sounds that way. Saving the whole Kit (preset) works for me.

That’s probably a bug. I’m getting the same thing as you.

I had the same issue when updating to 15.0.1, but it was every save field (kit, preset, key mapping, etc). I filed a bug report and they released a patch in a couple days. Looks like it returned, but only for the preset saving. It was only affecting my device (mini6) as no other device (or other users) were effected. Filing away again…..

  • Humm. No, selecting the USER folder doesn't do anything.

I can't figure this one out either. It must have worked at one time because I have a couple of saved hits in my USER folder. I'm still on 14.8, so its not an iOS 15 related issue.

  • Just updated Drum Computer a few hours ago and no problems saving a user preset, changing to another user preset, and then going back to my "just saved" preset.

It seems to be working fine for me. iPad Air 2 and 14.8.

Session preset? Or individual pad preset? They are two different things. Session preset management works fine. It's pad preset that seems to be wonky here.

    Oops.. my error.

Is there a way to copy one drum pad sound to another pad? I like to do this with hi hats a lot to get a good closed hat then copy and paste, plus add decay, etc... to make the open hat.

Save it and then load it into another track

Sugar Bytes do respond well on KVR... https://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=108

  • Is there a hidden function for using fine resolution on knobs etc?

I have a hard time to dial in precise values,it‘s driving me nuts 😬
