Long press to draw a note? That seems slow.
You can set the delay, 50 milliseconds is the fastest setting
Might seem slow, it’s not a tap, but not a long press either. It’s probably that way because it’s a rotary selector
@Littlewoodg : Are you referring to multi track studio, or multi track studio for iPad? They’re two entirely different apps
You're not confusing MultiTrack Studio for iPad with MultiTrack DAW are you?
NO………

Ok it is quirky as hell but I’m starting to see an upside. Some things drive me crazy but there’s some nice things about this too.
Does it do swing?
Yep it’s MultiTrackStudio for ipad
@cian :: That GUI though? It’s got tons of cool features for sure but I’m definitely leaning more toward n-tracks.
Oddly the interface bothers me less than I thought it would.
But swing really doesn’t seem to be there. Which is just odd.
Ok I worked out why I couldn’t see swing. I will say that MTS pro has an interface that is quirky and non intuitive - but once you learn it is actually pretty good. And the midi editing is really powerful - totally different level to everything else I’ve used on the iPad.
Also patterns - quirky and unlike anything else I’ve used. But once you get them - mind blown. So much potential.
So yeah I bought the pro extension.
@cian : Dang I’m still trying to figure out n-tracks but this is intriguing . Even though the UI on MTS is n’t as pretty at n-Track it IS built expressively for iPad . That’s a huge plus right there
@Littlewoodg : I’m close to pulling the trigger on MTS pro also. You might be the go-to person on this app.. You seem to have it down.
@Littlewoodg : What other iOS DAWS do you use ?
I will wake up this 'sleeper thread' as I just was recommended this video by Youtube...
(The iOS version is used in the demo)
There's one 'subscription' version and one 'paid' version of the app, so what gives, do we have any users here who can shed some light on this app?
Reviving again to see if anyone is still using this (or MTS). Long been interested but never made the jump. The update log for n-track is very very impressive though. Every couple weeks for a year or more now. I really like CB3 and Zenbeats but I may try the free version just get a feel. Any thoughts here?
Use only serious Daw not all this craps daws , I stack only to 2 Daws invested time to learn them : Cubasis 3.5 and NS2 for midi.
If you are a beginner don’t spend your monney and time spread for other daws this is the best advice you can have. I am not fan of Cubasis or NS2.
A Daw is a tool so why to be fan of a tool ? If you are fan you loose all judgment and give bad advices to beginners trying to choose a Daw.
If you have no time and monney Garage Band is a pretty underrated Daw but it is free and you will enjoy to use it very quickly.
For beginners : whatever people tell you AUM and Drambo are not Daws. They are very good but they are not Daws.
On ios you don’t have what people call pro Daws LogicPro, Ableton …. It is for Mac and Garage Band is very different of Logic Pro. All these Daw take Monthe even years to master them you can dedicate only to one pro Daws on Mac.
Don’t loose your time with MTS and n-track , you do very good music so carryon. You got the best Daw with CB3.
I have try all these daw for you loosing my time to state it’s not serious Daw and I lost time for you .
Thanks. I do really enjoy CB3 and by all accounts it seems like the DAW for iOS. But unless I missed an update it still doesn’t have tempo changes and the score mode in MTS is of interest to me. Seems to be well reviewed but the full unlock is $60.
I’m mostly just curious what others are making in said DAWs.
Last Update is Cubasis or even 3.5.1 as done 3 months Time and I heard that other updates on the pipe. They will take more time to do Cubasis 4 after the first releases problems they got with Cubasis 3. It is the pat now and they work hard on that. Great dev team with the financial power of a big corporation Yamaha. Steinberg is not a small player in the pro music and studio world.
I got CB3 on a sale for $25 and all IAP for something like 10 so no more than $35 including Waves (2 only Waves are good in the pack of 5 ) so $60 it quite a lot. Hopefully I don’t need to change my tempo for the music I do but I know that tempo changes app are not so common on iOS.
Now ios and IPad is ready to got I hope better Daws to incorporate that in a new GB ( I don’t think Logic Pro will go as a Logic Pro on iOS ) , more push up on Cubasis a Cubasis 4 and that a geat name changer like Ableton Daw .
For me MTS and n-track craps daw I cannot be kind with this daw it is important to say in this forum when an apps is not good.
Evidently, my experience with nTrack is completely different than @BerlinFx. I found it to be a very capable, full-featured DAW with many strong attributes, not the least of which is its excellent UI. Unlike many folks here, I never fell in love with Cubasis and while I ended up choosing Zenbeats as my go-to sequencer, I’d have been perfectly happy to use nTrack for everything.
I have n-Track and to me it’s the best DAW on iOS. Customer service is great and for a one time payment of $29.95 usd you get 10 gig of the one of the best all around soumdsets in iOS . Better UI than Zenbeats and better native sounds. Zenbeats is also improving constantly.

When it come to sounds for zenbeat it’s is really personal, you love or you don’t like Roland sounds a bit the same for Korg gadget as it Korg sounds. It it really pretty personal taste. The same for Yamaha sounds too.
@BerlinFx : “Craps DAW”? How much time have you spent with MTS or N-Track? You’re entitled to your opinion of course but these are not “Craps Daws”.
I know my language is quite direct …. #Daws that I Will not advise for beginner on iOS # sound better for you ?
MTS texting it during 4 days I try my best but honestly fed-up quickly and n-track 7 days as it was better to my opinion so it is not hours as but many hours on each. I should say that I paid for all the Daw I tried so they are not deleted they are in the cloud.
I tried to Audio Évolution Mobile I pay for it , it is not a bad one at all but better for recording to my opinion and Auria Pro (no comment got bugs problems when using it more seriously).
So I have done many test on most Daws (not zen beats ) and spend monney for that so I don’t delete any daws I have tested.
@BerlinFx : oK, Fair enough…Good to know that you at least tried them.. Not “Crap Daws” though. They’re just not for you.
To be fairnot easy to find a way when I was beginner in all the iOS Daw .
for my Destop daw in my Mack book M1 it was pretty easy choice , no choice itwas Logic Pro X or Ableton .
Twoi things stop me to choose Ableton the price to buy it and upgrade price and the fact this it was the beginning of Silicon and the only working without smooth on M1 was Logic Pro X . To tell the true it was a problem for many VST too if you remenber it.
Pure gold for one person may be total garbage to another
Even if we were to combine all available iOS apps into one mega-app we would likely still find issues with it.
The iOS platform has always been full of compromises and will likely continue so for a foreseeable future.
On the other hand what we do have is an amazing 'Lego Franken DAW' were we can pick individual features from various apps and combine them together. Sure it takes some work but it can be done just not with 'one app' but 'many apps'.
What we likely have to realize is that there will NEVER be a fully customizable app that will perfectly fit everyones needs.
Heck, not even Logic is without it's flaws and that goes for every single desktop daw too.
All the avaible apps are good in their own way and from experience It's best to learn a few and stop looking for the 'Perfect DAW' it does not and will never exist as the requirements will grow over time and a development teams will never be able to map the entire market and it's future needs.
So we have to settle for 'good enough for now' regardless of which platform we use iOS or Desktop and use the available tools.
My iOS 'history' dates back the first iPod so I've been in this 'app game' for quite some time...
It all boils down to what we want to do and how to do it.
If there's a will there's also a way...
Cheers!
Agree with this big time. Unlike some I’m overall pretty happy with what I can do on iOS. And I love C3 but the glowing reviews for MTS and NTrack had me second guessing a bit. I downloaded the free version of N-Track to give it a shot and I’ll be watching videos of each to see the workflow. I’m mostly just curious of others opinions as I don’t see those 2 mentioned much but when I read comments about them, it’s almost always overwhelmingly positive.
Yeah the loops are definitely a plus. I’ll be checking those vids for sure. Thanks! Would you mind expanding on why you consider it to be the best iOS DAW? I just downloaded the free version to try it out. Interface looks very clean.
