This seems likely culprit.
Thanks!
I guess that could be the case. But then how would that hijack the main system audio for the standalone app?
Still not too iOS-savvy, so maybe I'm missing something obvious.
Just a heads up @giku_beepstreet
I lost my saved (NOT those with a Heart) channel presets after installing the latest version of Radio Unt with the new sync feature on both my iPhone 8 and M1 iPadPro.
I do have the presets on my iPad Air 2 (which I have not yet updated) and for now I can’t find a way to save the presets (other than manual copy & paste) as the drag’n’drop of channels presets are not accepted by any destination!?
It’s ~20 channels (that can’t be found in the browser) so eventually I’ll have to do the copy & paste chores I guess…
Cheers!
Indeed something weird happens (sometimes . I removed RU from sales until I solve the problem.
Yeah I had the same issue, FYI.
i would love to have a 1/2T 1/4T 1/8T 1/16T 1/32T triplets option for the pianoroll in Drambo also included with a repeat trigger with those options on the virtual keyboard or pads even i have to buy it on the IAP
Hi @giku_beepstreet
Not sure if you saw the posts about the slow playback of Radio Unit, and if you had any thoughts as to what might be happening.
Thanks
Don't worry, it's already fixed in the latest
Ah, great news! Thanks!
I just tested this again and could only get it to work with airpods, not homepods or other airplay speakers. What devices have you used it with?
I’ve successfully sent audio from the stand-alone app to my Marshall Stanmore over BlueTooth and my AppleTV over AirPlay. I did the connection before launching the app.
@giku_beepstreet , this bug is mentioned before (and not solved with the latest update): your Radio Unit app streams the audio too 'slow'; thus the pitch is too low (maybe a few cents, but it's noticeable). In stand alone mode or as auv3 (in AUM); on my iPad Pro (IOS 15.7.1) and on my iPhone SE (IOS 16.1). I hope you will investigate this... Thank you.
As far as I know this is also fixed in the latest beta (don’t know if it’s an open beta) but in case it is maybe @giku_beepstreet could post the link here?
Thank you, @Samu . Let's hope this beta becomes alpha soon...
Usually alphas come before the betas so I think it'll drop sooner rather than later
I have zero clue when but I feel it's pretty close...
The update is out now...
...with a few bug fixes and a nice history tab in case on bumps into a nice station and forgets to favorite it or deletes a channel by mistake
Thank you, I just tried with my Apple TV as well and no success yet, I haven't tested with bluetooth yet. I'll try reinstalling and maybe checking the permissions in settings.
I have to say, that I love this app as a pure radio app. I was using TuneIn before, and their ad targeting was creepy.
Same here. It has replaced TuneIn for me...
This is exactly what I want to do! 😅
Update works great for me! Playback speed issue has been sorted and the randomise functionality is a great addition. Cheers @giku_beepstreet
Good update but be careful if you install it on a second device - your current custom stations and favourite list will probably get overwritten by the default set (though I thought I read in an earlier post that this was due to be fixed in this update?). I learned the hard way, and although your stations will have been previously saved, they're only accessible if you can access the devices file system in a backup (imazing came to my rescue!). Even then, they're not in a form that can be copied or imported to the app - it's a plist file - so you need to add them manually one by one (unless anyone knows of a better way...?)
The list(s) from all the devices will now be merged, once merged they will sync across devices.
This was one of the reasons the initial release with sync was temporarily pulled...
(I lost all my channels two devices, reported it and boom). Luckily I still had the channels on a device I hadn't updated yet.
I'm running Radio Unit on 3 devices at the moment and all are now in perfect sync.
One thing that is still missing is editing the name and url of a favorite (and add icon url) as well as showing the actual iCloud folder where the master preset list is stored.
For now the sync is pretty darn reliable. I've even tried adding channels on two devices running at the same time...
When both apps are re-started the added channels are all devices.
Give it a go
@Samu one more question: are you on iOS 16? I'm starting to think that this may be the issue for me
My iPad Air 2 is running iPadOS15.7.1.
iPhone 8, iOS16.1.2.
M1 iPad Pro, iPadOS16.1.1.
Apple TV, TvOS16.1
(Yeah, I'm 'keep my iDevices as updated as possible' junkie).
Thank you, I'll keep digging (and I'm exactly the same)
I've also reported it in case there's something under the hood that causes this 'inconsistency'.
But I have a feeling that getting the D update out before Christmas has quite high priority though...
Thanks! As a user, that would be my priority as well
For now Blue Tooth should work (That is what I use the most to stream to my Marshall StanMore).
AirPlay is currently not supported so if/when it works it's by pure luck...
One work around for now is to host it in a host supports Airplay like AUM.
Cheers!
Sorry - that's not what happened for me. I already had RadioUnit (updated to the latest version) installed on my iPad with a number of favourites, some of which were custom additions. Earlier today I installed it on my iPhone, where it only showed the 'default' favourites and when I checked on the iPad, only those defaults were present - there was no sign of my original list - no 'merging' had taken place. The syncing works fine - as add the favourites back on one device it's immediately reflected on the other...
