  • Hey, is this the only radio AU? I thought either ström or Streemur were but I was mistaken. That makes this the only radio streamer that’s AU right?

  • I thought steermur was AU but this is defiendetly in the top list. Especially since they made drambo and this loads into it as as AU. I think I would lose my mind if I got (due to its multi possibliltys) SO Im avoiding it like the plague even though its a friggin genius idea if creatively used.

I thought so too, but it doesn’t appear to be. I think this new Radio AU is the ONLY one unless I’m forgetting one.

  • Bought. Love it :)

Really cool to chop this up with glitchcore, record in AUM, load sample in Segments, play to the beat.

I’ve been using glitchcore, replicant 2, yaleD, WOW. Then Enso or L7.

Cool - Haven’t even tried filtering the many audio clips with filters like WOW, but that was my next thing to try. Glad you mentioned YaleD - I feel like it’s an unappreciated delay.

  • Another cool thing: two instances with Mutemaster.

By the way, this is getting a bit off topic, but there is a great app 'Voice Dream Reader' which you can use to read ebooks etc to you and it had some voices that are much better than the apple text to speech voices. I particularly like the Scottish voice 'Rhona'. I often use this to 'read' books or articles etc when I am walking.

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/voice-dream-reader/id496177674

Is there an Australian female voice that sounds like Olivia Newton-John? I’d love to have stuff read to me in such a snazzy accent/vocal register.

Great suggestion Oat, hit that dev up, I can see a possible future collab between him and the pornhub folk that would do a lot to increase the amount of books consumed worldwide 😉

  • Listening to BBC News through Mammoth.

  • Excellent Chrimbo prezzie there @colonel_mustard, many appreciations etc,

http://radio.garden/ can be a great source for finding new stations semi-randomly. Getting access to the streaming URL is not easy though.

The radio garden app allows you to share the link that contains the URL, I was just about to post this.

    https://apps.apple.com/au/app/radio-garden-live/id1339670993

Click the ... next to the station and share. Sometimes it needs to be edited in something like Notes.

Thanks, but I’m getting a URL that begins with http://radio.garden/listen/ which acts as a direct link to the station in the website, not the stream. Is there something I need to add?

I sit corrected, works like that for me too. I remember it working differently, maybe I’m getting confused with another app.

I found that this stream URL seems to work for most stations:
    https://radio.garden/api/ara/content/listen/<station-id>/channel.mp3

When you share a station you get a URL like this:
    https://radio.garden/listen/radio-uchile-102-5-fm/g6FEw9TZ

That last part is the station ID that you can replace in the stream URL above. There are a few that haven't worked for me, but I'm fairly certain that it has to do with the source format, because I couldn't even get them to work with their original URL.

Thanks, makes sense, same ID different API.

  • I’ll give this another shot, before writing Beep Street support:
Can someone explain how to record this au in Cubasis?

  • Weird timing for this app, I guess if I win an app card Ill get it. I mean mangling radio stations or adding synth to Megadeth or something silly. Could be insanity inducing or inspirational. Hails glad its rocking. Has anyone tried the terror of multi radios at once? Cheers and it snowed here!

Load Radio Unit on track 1
    Add a new track ”Audio”
On that track 2 enable Insert Effects ’Channel Strip’
Press Record Button on top of the window (transport controls)...
Now Cubasis is recording this radio station onto a wavefile on track 2...
Check different settings on ’Channel Strip’ to have a descent sound quality...

    Good luck!

    Merry Christmas @JohnnyGoodyear

    God bless us, every one.

  • Good unit. Some questions:

    • 3 params can be mapped in Drambo, but AUM sees no radio params. Do these use different mechanisms to expose p?
    • Any reason why #stations are limited to 32?
    • Would it be possible to make presets that contain different sets of stations?

    From Soma FM
    https://somafm.com/indiepop/directstreamlinks.html

“Some media players may need PLS, M3U or "direct stream links" (a link to the actual streaming server rather than a file listing all our servers). If you're using a hardware streaming player, or a player or device that doesn't work when you click our normal listen links, these links may help.

Using the PLS or M3U links is the best, as these links are "permanent" and do not change. Direct server links can vary based on individual server availability and should only be used if PLS or M3U links won't work with your player. If a direct server link stops working, you'll need to get the updated links here.”

    Thank you!

SomaFM: My favorite radio stations are there! Thank you for sharing!

    Cliqhop is my personal favorite....

If you catch æther generator on Space Station SOMA, that's me! If you do anything cool with my tunes, let me know!

Got to any soma station, then on the menu down the left hand side there is a button that says direct links. Use the direct stream link from any soma station. The one I posted is only the indie pop station.

Thanks @ErrkaPetti , but I can’t get that to work. Where is Channel Strip supposed to get the audio signal from, is there a route setting that needs to be set?

  • If anyone got gift cards they're looking to spend... this one is lightweight (only about half a meg), universal, works perfectly, only $3, and is a lot of fun mixing multiple instances.

If you fail, try this method instead:

    Launch Audiobus 3
Put Radio Unit in input slot
    Put Cubasis in output slot
    Jump to Cubasis
    Have a blank audio track
Choose Audiobus in Routing ’Sound Input’
Start recording thru Transport buttons on top...
    Ready...

For anyone seeking an audio book station, found this one through Radio Garden

    Audio Book Radio - https://radio.garden/listen/audiobookradio/mQkSjgK7

Also this seems to have some unique content ripe for manipulation

    Payphone Radio - https://radio.garden/listen/payphone-radio/Vqbk96aA

    Yes

On mine, I just highlight the user slot name on the right above the dial... then type or paste in whatever I want it to say, hit return. Easy-peasy

In stand-alone Drambo, add a Generator –> Audio Unit Instrument, then select it from the [+] menu in that module.
