    What is LK?

to add something to this, it's my go-to app/sequencer on every single synthesizer jam/experimentation session and it has many "ableton live"-stype midi controllers pre-mapped with the button LEDs working

can lk record into it's self?
i mean, can i record the output of xy, pads, keyb.,chord,... directly into a matrix clip of the same au instance?

Yes. On each track, you can choose from which MIDI input or internal MIDI controller page to record automation data:

  • @rs2000

What is the maximum amount of midi channels that LK can handle per instance?

  • In an AU host LK creates 4 Midi out devices each with the usual 16 Midi channels. That‘s the theoretical maximum. In my LK projects I actually never exceeded 10-12 tracks.

As one instance of LK creates 4 midi out devices
if you have 4 instances of LK instantiated that would be 16 midi out devices?

Yup - separated to each instance its own 4 "outs".

    Ohhhh.
That could be very useful for connecting directly to multi-timbral sound sources.
    Thanks for confirming.

@SkillipEvolver So far I have got the clarinets bundle, baritone sax, Saprano sax, bass flute, piccolo flute, Contrabassoon, double bass, viola
Also have a bunch of the brass from when they first came out… I have the first geoSWAM bundle as well.

I took one day to watch videos online and then dug out my Korg controller and mapped a couple parameters to some knobs. Messed around and had a BLAST, once you start to practice and get familiar.

Playing sample libraries after is so boring lol. I’m about to get a better keyboard and a expression pedal.
Maybe even try one of those fancy wind/breatheController

How does the standalone version compares to the geoswam versions? I am getting one of those aerophone but they don’t work with the iap versions.

I think you're mistaken or maybe just misunderstanding, if you don't think the Aerophone can work with with Geoshred/Geoswam instruments. It is nothing complicated, you just need to set Aerophone up to send on midi channel other than channel 1. (I assume this can be done on Aerophone, if not you can easily run Aerophone through a midi routing utility on iPad that forwards it to Geoshred.) This has been discussed several times in these forums, most recently here, I think: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/46839/geoshred-geoswam-clarinet-midi-controller

That linked thread includes a video tutorial by Gavinski on how to send midi controller messages (in your case Aerophone) to Geoshred/Geoswam.

Thanks. I will check it out.

GeoSWAM can be easier to play straight away. The geoshred interface can work very well.
But I think the dedicated apps have more options, and thinking ahead will the Geoshred versions get updates in the future? Sort of like FabFilt plugs in Auria.
I was confused to with the options, but ultimately decided the dedicated apps should be the better buy.

I was trying to convince myself to buy the brass bundle on desktop, but it’s expensive. Being able to buy single instruments on iOS I like much better… even if I do end of buying them all lol.

Yeah i have to buy fabfilters twice so I was avoiding the same situation here with geoswam

PSA for anyone contemplating the Overloud THU "Full" while it is on sale - it is not in fact full and you will still have things listed for sale in your list of amps and effects. Maybe everyone else knows this, but I didn't take the time to compare the list of what you get verses what is available. I just assumed you got everything but the rigs... Obviously not a big deal, just kind of annoying for people who are completists. Here are the things you do not get:

    American Super '66
    DV "Raw Dawg" EG
    EG Raw Drive
    Rock '59 RR
    Top 15 (UK)
    1x12 OB Wanted (US)
    2x12 DV Gold 212V
    4x10 Super (US)
    4x12 1960 White (UK)
    Analog Booster
    Eric Gales Fuzz
    Satisfaction
    Symphonic 90
    Magnetic Delay (Echoson)
    Boogie II EQ
    EG Shape Booster

So it will cost roughly $100 more to actually have all amps, cabs and effects.

I think half of those items are in the 1960s pack:
    https://www.overloud.com/products/th-u-60s-pack/models

And another 5 or so in the Eric Gales pack.
    https://www.overloud.com/products/th-u-60s-pack/models

But I also think that both of these packs have been released since the Premium Pack, so they include new elements.

To be fair the Premium Pack is not called “full” (it specifically says it contains “FX Pack, the Amp & Cab Pack and the Distortion Pack”) but I’ll admit it is confusing.

Oh cool, thanks for the info! Glad I can get them a little cheaper in bundles. That’s weird how “full” got stuck in my head and that’s not even what it’s called. Hope the list still helps confused people like me figure out what you’re not getting in premium. A lot of great sounds in the app but the bad part is I spent the remaining balance I was trying to save for loopy pro.

Would be nice if they showed as purchased when you buy premium. Confusing indeed.

  • K-devices apps just went on sale:

    Shaper 2
    WOV
    TTAP

I have a feeling that Premium used to be called Full. I think it’s still called “Full” on the website. So it was probably correct until a year ago or so, then they added new packs.

Sorry for enabling your shopping. :D

Yeah I hate it when apps don’t show that you purchased something because it’s in a bundle!

I like Mammoth very much. Just noticed they released the Rhino guitar amp sim. Anyone using that or know if the current price is the regular price?

  • There has been no price change on Rhino since it was released.

but Rhino has only been released a few days ago, so it might be an introductory price, who knows...

    That was fun.

    Thanks.
