2 apps for the price of 1 great design. What's not to like.
Oh my god I love Art Kerns. This is a bigtime release
Is there any way to accent/flam/ratchet hits in the drum sequencer?
Damn. I'm so getting this. Everything Art does is so fun to mess around with.
In case dev is checking...
Prob/CC font size doesn’t scale
Anyone knows how best to reach him?
There are Twitter and YouTube links on his web site. Don't seen an email anywhere.
So ... I'm not sure I should be posting this or not, but I have reached him before at art @ artkerns.com.
Digging this, as I do all of Art Kerns’ apps.
There is no way in the drum to turn off swing? It seems that can’t be lowered below 50%.
50% is no swing. Anything above or below 50 will swing the beat.
It's kind of like a square oscillator where 50% pulse width is a pure square.
I’m a bit of a sequencer junkie, don’t really need a new one... but I’m getting it anyway lol looks great.
Ok thanks so much for the info.😁
Interesting. This is kind of like Cykle to me, but a little more advanced I think.
Yeah, just from his other apps this is desirable. The UI will be fixed I imagine asap. How is it besides that? Like cpu usage and crashes or stutters etc. Thanks and hails to what appears to be a great looking old school seq+drum. I image the drum and seq are linked super well? Then I guess it depends on what midi your feeing it or sending it. Cheers.
This sequencer really makes fun, but …
• Ratcheting should be per step. Global Ratcheting doesn‘t make a lot of sense.
• There should be more channels for Midi CCs
• There should be an option for “probability groups” (steps in a probability group are either all played or all muted).
I explored a strange behavior with Moog Model D. Even after deleting the sequencer, the sequence still was playing. Restarting AUM helped.
Tie notes would be nice too.. patterns should be a ‘snap-shot’ of that sequence/settings ... a random feature would be nice too..
it’s only ver.1. 😎
Nice..
8 CC sliders would be nice too.. 🙂
@RajahP you can get tie notes by pushing the duration sliders all the way up to 100§
My wish is for an 8 step pattern, or assignable pattern length.
Patterns can be assigned to any length between 1-64; you have to long press the step number or go to second page to assign end of pattern. It’s pretty deep!
Ah, I was missing the long press.
You could also vary the sequence length by skipping steps. The beauty there is you could set up a 16 step sequence, then play around with which 8 steps to skip. They could be the last 8, the first, or any steps in-between.
Love the simplicity, works like a dream. The only nit i have is like someone else said..makes no sense to have every note ratchet or none. Strange to even implement that, but I bet it’ll be changed. And I guess the drum app could use a ratchet as well, despite me hardly ever using them for drums.
Fun, but I’m experiencing timing issues. Jitter.
You can set the probability slider to control probability of ratcheting, then just turn probability to zero or all steps but the ones you want to ratchet.
Wow this looks nice !
It's really fun.
Same here unfortunately
Thanks guys, as I do have midi steps from him, I'll wait tilll the smiggles are worked out. Looking good though so far.
Morning.
I think Wim covered this already but this is the description from the man himself about how to do per step ratcheting, I don't think he will mind me posting here:
Per step ratcheting is done with ratcheting probability, set the prob/cc to probability ratchet and set the slider to 100 for the steps you want to have ratchet always be on. Or 50/50 for sometimes or whatever.
The ratchet lock is for using the AU parameters to control it, and for playing with it in real time and toggling it off and on.
Bingo.
Draw mode would be nice...
Anyone get this and have Stepbud? Feels like it covers most of the same ground?
