There is some merit to what you’re saying. Because I know few pros who are using iOS. That’s why I asked if anyone had some convincing examples.
For a slightly more amateur comparison of koala against hardware im familiar with I found this (pay particular attention to the drum transients)
P.S. I exaggerated when I said I hear it every time in an AB test. But I do the majority of the time.
This one comes up at a regular frequency too.
Its funny that he brought this up, because this is actually a far more important conversation to have about music. Although from the sound of it this is getting ridiculed from the start over here.
I’ll leave you with these things about frequency to ponder on:
Hopefully you will understand a little more about the nature of our reality and the important role of frequency after this. Only then we could have a conversation about specific frequencies.
Good real world points.. If only Mpc didn’t make me wait to load each sound
Going to be off-topic... but now that it's mentioned, this specific point is a pet peeve of mine.
In many cymatics demonstrations showing how some specific frequencies are somehow "natural" or "in-tune" with some higher physical or biological construct, always remember that the pattern you're seeing has just as much to do with the shape, material and dimensions of the membrane (or medium) as the frequencies involved.
Now getting back to topic... this reminds me of the video showing how 432 Hz created beautiful patterns in water whereas 440 Hz resulted in a jumbled mess of random wavefronts. So the point is, that demonstration says more about what sized bowl to choose to get the prettiest patterns, as opposed to which frequencies will "resonate better" with you as a human being, whatever that should mean.
I am a shitty hack. So the more awesome sounding presets I can pick through to mash together into faking like I know what I am doing the better I sound. Desktop simply cannot be beat for this method.
You are right. We live in a dualistic realm, so if you are attuned to chaos and fear it only makes sense that harmonic frequencies wouldn’t really resonate with you in the same way as someone who is making an effort to live a more harmonious peaceful life. Life can only exist when there is a certain balance/harmony (think about the precursors for life). The frequencies reflect this idea of natural harmony.
You called it! 🤣
i'm all bout them 420 hz yawl
Well jokes on you I make harsh noise so good luck deducing where that manic screeching comes from 😂
Also side note, a lot of Pros use the iPad just not “all-in” like many of us here. Clearly you’re in the minority and that’s fine I guess. Maybe you have super human hearing or perfect pitch and perfect hearing lol
Regardless you seem to be hearing something we’re not. I think iOS sounds great.
Both sounded good and bad, I don’t know what that’s meant to demonstrate?
So…. is it settled then?
Can I use both or do I have to choose only one? Laptop or iPad? I’m still confused over which one has the 440 hz. I like to use 432 hz at 16 kHz when in scratchpad mode, then switch to 440 hz at 44.1 kHz to finish up the tracks before converting from 32 bit apps to 64 bit apps on my gaming computer with its 8K desktop monitor and the $3k each studio monitors so that I can master at 192 kHz. Then I bounce MP3s back to my iPhone to listen to the finished piece.
After all that my tracks still sound like shit. Maybe it’s the Apple AirPods (3rd Gen) I’m listening on…? Or maybe I need a new iPhone….
You’ve missed an important part and that is which DAW or “non DAW” you’re using.. You know they all sound different…,
Unfortunately the elders have written in stone long ago that you must choose only one. Choose wisely…
Remembering that iPad sounds like sh*t of course, and that you have to use desktop if you’re a pro.
Perhaps someone should develop a desktopifier plugin. And see what happens when that gets ported to the desktop.
That day will forever be remembered as The Singularity, something Dr. Kurzweil will never be able to get over.
Hahaha 😁 not everyone is putting in this amount of effort to be funny
I never meant to say that ios sounds bad. I have quite some synths on ios that sound amazing. I was just making a point about a specific quality of sound I’m always looking for when it involves beats.
Pretty sure most people would be able to hear what I mean in a direct A/B test. Anyway I concluded this is not the place for these type of conversations. So case closed 🙏🏻
Yep. Billboard actually won’t count your tracks streams if you use an iPad. It’s a cruel world.
Yes, it’s clearly stated in their terms and conditions.
So we are now real rock'n'roll! Haha! 🤘 I hope they won't send police to check our iPads for any music-making apps. 😂
“Police…Open the door! We hear bleeps and bloops in there!”
came up with sort of challenge for 2024: only use the software that works both on iPad and macOS.
(i don't mind re-purchasing some stuff)
(fun fact: Logic is the exception, i won't use it on iPad).
That’s it! I use NS2. I knew this thread would eventually come back around to whether or not NS2 is actually a DAW or non DAW and that will determine if I am actually creating music or noises. Fortunately I know a guy who knows a guy that used to be in a band and he hooked me up with proper gear, so I’m giving up on everything and now exclusively making music with this:
Some real analogs will of course make you professional instantly, so well done on your successful music career.
@Slam_Cut
Is that the guy that my guys knows? He was in a band!
Ah…. Yeah. I see. Without the pedals he has, I can’t achieve that high-quality professional Lo-Fi sound. I better go look for a Tube Screamer. Whatever that is.
Be sure to get a left handed one. Don’t just take a right handed one and turn it upside down.
Ah! Good point. Thanks for the tip. Your experience in these matters is invaluable. This is, once again, the reason why I read this forum. That saved me a lot of time dickin’ around with an upside down right handed Tube Screamer. I’m gonna win the Loudness Wars now!
