Here I made two themes so far, Solarized and Homebrew (yea I‘m a developer by profession :D):

I‘m working on a video about theming, just an intro on how it works, what variables you have etc. But I catchend a cold last week, so will take a few more days.

We are going to need a way to share those, patchstorage maybe?

    These look incredible, thanks @FloRi89.

Indeed we need a nicer way of sharing these. I've added a note above, but repeating it here as well:

    • Importing scripts and styles: In 2.0.4 I will implement drag-and-drop import, meaning that drag and dropping a script or style file onto an Atom instance (just like with MIDI files), will import and apply it immediately.
    • It would be good to have a patchstorage.com repository for scripts and styles. Once 2.0.4 lands and there's a super easy way of importing third-party code, we should set that up.

It's a very simple addition, should only take a minute. I'll prioritize it for the 2.0.3 update.

Got the update yesterday. Did this make it in? If not, no worries, just want to make sure I didn't miss anything. Thanks for all you're doing!

    Coming up in 2.0.4.

Import styles and configurations with drag and drop

    You can:

    • Download code written by other users anywhere on your iPad.
    • Drag and drop those files onto an Atom instance and they will automatically apply.
    • Update themes etc. by drag-and-dropping again. Old files will be overwritten.

Preview all styles in your Styles directory quickly:

    Nice, perfect!

  • Cubasis can be such a pain sometimes >:)
Try to add 3 atom(or any same midi fx) on the same track, then reorder one of them, check each view (may need todo it twice) and all 3 will end up showing the same view/(track+slot), reloading doesn't help. Probably undo playing some tricks...

Also, with Atom, sometimes I have clips that don't play on sync. I have a 4 bar loop in CB3, 3 atoms with a 2 bar loop, and one of them would not play the first bar after CB3 loops. Not the first time I have this, and didn't find a way to reproduce on will. Standard setting and no script running, single track project.
Don't know if it's related but the OnNewBar function in Mozaic shows me bar 5 (same scenario) while CB3 is actually back on bar 1. But then, why it's not on all atom's instances ..? Also it returned back to normal, after a transport restart I think.

I experimented a bit with the styles  - we can have „marching ants“. Possibly helpful for some. If anyone is interested i could share. Colors are completely exchangeable in the style itself.

  • I can already see that themeing is going to take of for Atom 2 :)

  • Has anyone been able to change the auv3 background color to black thru a script yet?
I looked at it but was afraid to mess with the controls LOL

Doable - but it involves setting other colors. Because black icons against black background is hardly operatable

How about just trying or give a color-set description you want and we‘ll do it?

I would recommend choosing a similar color as a background, change the other colors and then switch to black to not loose the ability to operate this thing  Or you exactly know which button does what

Also you could go other fancy routes...i know it is ugly

Yeah, look at what @tk32 did back in the day. I'm sure you can guess how ;)

  • Can anyone give me any tips to get Atom working in cubasis? I've got it loaded as a midi effect but I don't seem to be able to record any input from my keyboard...

How are the Atoms being triggered, I will try to reproduce.

By default , launchpad style. I had a clean project, just loaded 3 instance of Atom, recorded a few note in each o them, but only one had the sync problem, no script or special style loaded.

Could you also try to move one instance in the slot and hit a few times the e button and see if you get also like 3x 1.1 track/slot or the like ?
I’m on iOS 14.. on an Air4, but I doubt this has something to do.

Also I noticed when copying an instance of Atom in Drambo, I get really a copy, same track and slot.

  • @reasOne request and @MrBlaschke screen shot made me think of this from Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy...

“It’s the wild colour scheme that freaks me,” said Zaphod whose love affair with this ship had lasted almost three minutes into the flight, “Every time you try to operate on of these weird black controls that are labelled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up black to let you know you’ve done it. What is this? Some kind of galactic hyperhearse?”

  • Weirdest thing. Just restarted cubasis and atom now gets input from the external midi keyboard... :/

Very random cubasis 3, very random...

Tagging @tk32 on the drambo stuff, will try out Cubasis in a while ;)

No hurry, I finally decided to go with drambo, I already had it for some of the midi stuff.

This being said, I'm not to lucky, I had just 3 atoms on one track in Drambo, and when trying to reload the project the 3 plugs wouldn't load anymore, perpetual glass hour. Are there any problems with atom and drambo ?

Yes, this is known. This, and other layout issues, are now fixed in Drambo beta.

Thanks , good to know, I can host Atoms in AUM in the mean time. Too bad Drambo doesn't have MIDI input modules, would make things so much easier. But AU parameter handling and it's midi learn is really good and will be even better with local midi learn.

Ok, now I have a bunch of Clips in AUM, is there a way to make global changes (trigger modes, scales,.. ), AFAIK even scripts won't let you do it .. ?

Some changes have global effects (like setting the Choke Mode). Let me know what you'd like to have and I'll log it as a feature request.

  • What would be cool is a Global checkbox under global latency, and while it's checked any change would be applied to all clips. And automatically uncheck it when the view closes. And maybe some visual fx to let the user know hés in global mode.
Best would be Global, Current Track or all slots with the same id. This could be applied to pretty much any function / option, launch modes, grid, tempo,.. clip length, process functions, .. pretty much anything. :)
But for scale and root I would also like to be able to make a global change within a script.

  • Is it possible to select multiple notes that aren’t directly next to each other? For example if I had a row of notes for hats but wanted to select alternating notes to shorten every other one.

  • Good feature that is present in many desktop piano rolls:
Long press piano key to select all notes with that pitch

Yes! Long press individual notes to toggle selection. Will be covered in the manual.

Yes, I’ve just logged a feature request about it the other day. Very simple to add, and useful!
