Wotja is AU
What's New
HUGE NEW FEATURE: Wotja now includes an AUv3 Plug-in with near enough the full Wotja UI!

Wotja Play/Stop buttons slave to the main DAW Transport controls
Use your DAW MIDI routing for MIDI I/O
One plug-in instance can be loaded and with one Wotja file

Note: Irrespective of this free app's Feature Set Subscription for technical reasons the Plug-in can ONLY operate in Lite Mode; get the paid-for Wotja Pro 21 app if you want the plug-in with a Pro Feature SetNEW: IM Drums & IM E-Perc SF2 improved/extended and SF2 processing changed to allow melodies to be used to generate percussion (try using Text to Music for IDM - it's fun!).

what?!?!?1
this is the best news for me since Gauss came out!! unbelievable
Wow! Didn't see that coming!
State saving would be very welcome at some point, as this is a key advantage of AUv3, but no rush. Also doesn't seem to sync to host tempo in AUM unless I change the AUM tempo. Will email a report.
Seems to work OK after a quick play.
Ok, I think I might actually get this now that it’s got an AU

Buyers remorse getting this last year, never getting around to using it, and now not being eligible for the upgrade to AU. Ha! Win some lose some! Being an AU will totally open this up though. Nice work, developers 👍
Have bought but not opened also. Am waiting for someone to come round with a thermos of coffee, a flask of whisky, and a stack of patience disguised as pancakes....
This is brilliant! 😮
The irony is I didn’t end up using it because it wasn’t AU... 🤣
Holy shit
As Doug would say “Cool Beans”
Getting a lot of crackling if I add a second instance cpu at 57% Shame ! Tried changing sample rates etc
Same here. iPad Pro 12.9 2020 1tb latest iOS.
What device are you using? After all.. it IS a full Wotja inside of a plugin.. I’d try and limit the number of instances to 1..
The whole idea of AU is to have the flexiability of running more than one. Ok it’s great to have the flexibility of a adjustable window. As I said CPU was 57% just over half with 2 so I’m not hitting the buffer so not sure what’s causing the crackling.
@Jumpercollins check sample rate?
I tried that it’s actually bombing out on 1 instance now seems very flaky.
One is enough I agree but I was testing out. This is really great but really cpu intensive. Also the plug-in lag a lot when you move it.
Second instance on my iPad and the cpu is 30.
You’ll get crackles also if you add 1 instance auv3 and 1 IAA so maybe is a bug.
ive got no issues , but im also just running one instance. Its syncing great with AUM and sending midi out to a handful of synths. Ive also got magic death eye stereo on , as well as a fairly large amount of FX plugins going on in the session. CPU is at about 70. Hoping they continue to improve it. I remember them saying it would most likely never be AU, so im beyond stoked.
Hi folks!
Pete here from Intermorphic.
You've all beaten me to my announcement in https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/42799/wotja-21/p4 ...! Thanks @Masanga for spreading the word, that is appreciated.
In a major - as in very major - update, Wotja 21.5.0 now includes a full AUv3 plug-in extension.
More information here:
https://intermorphic.com/wotja/21/guide/#plug-in
It is really nice to see the positive comments, so thanks to all.
@craftycurate yes, state changing is something we've thought about, but it is a bit tricky with our document focus. I hope to add it at some point.
@Jumpercollins @Charlesalbert @god To be clear, we support only one instance of the Wotja AUv3 at once. The idea is that you do some clever routing of MIDI from Wotja, and use that to drive one or more synth / FX and maybe mix them together with what Wotja creates. If you were on a mac, you can do some pretty amazing things - we've shared a Logic Pro template on our website (and one for Main Stage!) which should get you all going on that platform too.
@god performance wise - if you don't want to use the built-in synth, just strip out the FX and focus on driving external AUv3 synths and FX. But that said - the Wotja FX engine is very efficient - I should know, as I wrote it
@shinyisshiny yes, I know we said never. But after - literally - years of thinking around the subject, I realised how I could do it. The actual work from that point took me around a month. You should see what we've now got planned for Wotja 22
If you want to be sure I read any response, please "at" me in your post.
You can also always get in touch via the contact page on the Intermorphic website.

@impete how can I load a mix file I created in standalone that doesn’t appear in the AU instance?
@Paulinko we strongly recommend using iCloud; that way, your iOS AUv3 and standalone apps both see the same documents. They're then also available to macOS standalone and AUv3, if you happen to have a mac!
However, if you're not using this, then I think you'd probably have to export mix to clipboard from standalone, and import into the AUv3.
@Masanga - am I right in saying that you're not using iCloud; and presumably, therefore, have a way to work with this?
Best wishes,
Pete
@Jumpercollins I still find an AU with only one instance still valuable for its state savings and the ability to be routed through AU host apps.
@Paulinko we'll look to add state saving at some point. I just need to figure out how it can work with Wotja's UI approach
Best wishes, Pete
@impete thank you very your quick response and for the update!
Thanks so much. This update was really huge and glorious. Wish You the best.
Thanks to all. Nice to have a Wotja love-in today
Pete
Just tried the midi side of it driving Sunrizer one of @Spidericemidas patches so cool.
As I mentioned on the Wotja 21 thread, it is actually quite cool that you've all now got an option of using Wotja standalone (IAA / AudioBus), or AUv3, with or without MIDI. That gives a lot of options now, so hopefully everybody can find a way of working that suits them.
I personally really like using Wotja AUv3 within AUM; that seems to work very well.
Best wishes,
Pete
@impete can you please tell us a bit more about your pricing/support/release strategy. How long will this version be supported ?
