    Are u really sure the apps are limited by country. Because devs send me codes for apps and I can send to anyone, wherever. This limited by country seems nonsensical

    Would be easy to test. Send a code to someone not in your country. Worst that happens, it won't let them redeem it and u can pass it on to someone else.

    Developer codes are different to gift codes. No money is exchanged when a developer creates a free code - so there are no tax/exchange implications.

    What happens is that the recieving party will get a message that this code isn't available for the store that they are in and that they will have to switch stores if they want to redeem the code. I had this issue before, because I live in Austria and have a bunch of friends in Germany and those are two different stores. Last time I bought a German iTunes gift card to get around that. It's kind of annoying, but the reason is basically taxes, rules etc.

    I’m taking a stab here but Maybe gifts are different then the developer codes because I assume the developer doesn’t have to pay for each code he wants of his own app. Right? I mean they probably request them or even create them some way through Apple.
