awesome! thanks for looking into this and taking action! @sonosaurus
OK, this is now a little off-topic, but here is a notarized universal macOS 64bit Intel/ARM release of PaulXStretch, including a standalone application, AU and VST3 plugins. Anyone who is interested, please give it a try on your systems and let me know how it goes, it should work on all the latest hardware and OS versions (and back to 10.10).
I do have plans to make layout changes to the UI eventually....

@sonosaurus great work, mate! I was testing it right now on my MacBook Pro 2015 with Catalina. Works really good. Standalone and some audio recorded through the internal mic. From your perspective, how are the chances this will have an appearance in the AppStore eventually?
Ooooh. Gonna have to check this out. Thanks.
You brought back standalone mode. Fantastic
Going to grab this ASAP - I only just got the 'original' PaulXStretch as I wasn't sure if it would work with Monterey (but it does) - I love what it can do. Venus Theory's great intro video really helped me understand the functionality...
Thanks! You made my day.
All seems OK on my Mac - Intel iMac (Retina 5K, 27-inch, 2020) running MacOS 12.2.1
Only thing I notice is a lack of volume when capturing an audio feed in standalone. I use Loopback to direct audio output from one app to another and the capture signal is very low - I'll investigate more and see what I can do...otherwise, thanks a million for working on this...
Ooooh. I never used PaulStretch, but this looks great and like it's going to be huge fun!
Does anyone know how I can access iCloud Drive from the browser in the app?
Also, I feel like a heel making suggestions at this stage, but drag-n-drop from/to Finder would be really useful. [edit, nvm, it works. I must have been doing something wrong earlier. I can drag and drop from iCloud Drive as a solution for the above.]
omg. I may never use anything else for creating pads again.
If Joe Walsh only knew what I'm doing with the opening riff to "Rocky Mountain Way" right now ... 😂
amazing! thanks for sharing
Very cool. Thank you!
Worked beautifully on ancient Mac Pro in ableton 11…
Nice find!
Who else is going to take the challenge?
Ok, I tested the VST3 version on Bitwig. MacOS Monterey, M1 Macbook Air, it works perfectly.
works fine on M1 Air + M1 Pro in Live 11.1.5b1 + Live 11.1 both running native silicon
Sayyyyy Wwwwwhhhhhaaattttt! Oh my goodness this is really great news, only half the battle but still. Fingers crossed 🤞 Xenakios agrees as well.
Same.
This is GREAT news!!!!!!
Ok, I got permission from Xenakios and it looks like I will probably take over maintenance of the whole thing for all platforms…
Onwards
Who says wishes can’t come true? Thanks for taking this on!
For those interested, here it is:
One of the things I'm going to do in the UI is to make it more clear (by grouping / coloring) which controls affect which module and if that module is enabled or not. This will also allow for it to work with a smaller plugin window size (as necessary on iOS).
That is such great news! Thanks for doing this!
Great idea! I hope you'll have fun while porting this! This will be amazing! Thank you!
I'm pretty darn sure that the way this thing does its time stretching is by sucking time out of its surroundings. Start playing with it, look up a few minutes later and 4 hours have gone by. Fascinating.
It's kind of like the Sector Effect, though that one seems to work by wringing the time continuum's skinny little neck until it eventually coughs you up several hours later. Same effect, but different method.
Dangerous apps, these two.
heck yes!! thank you !! let us know if we can help at all
Oh my!!! this is great great news, Thank you!!
