Honestly don't get the AU stuff.

I want an AUv3 for state saving and multiple app instances.

Sure and yep, it's unclear to me why this isn't a feature in any iOS music app too but for the price to feature set it's bloody amazing.

As far as the comments about it being DM2.5, I think that's fair. I also think it's fair to ask £4 for the work that has clearly been put into the rejig. I love how the interface makes the oscillator, drone etc much more upfront and centre.

Tbh, I loved DM1, I think it was the first iOS app I ever bought, music or otherwise and so I bought DM2 but I never really bothered with it. I feel like DM3 is my jam and I do believe that a big part of that is the changes to the interface. It kind of feels like the devs have iterated their way to perfection. For me, anyway.

  • It’s a great drum machine - incredible for the money....
Now for the requests 😀. I would like it to have an option for mutes and parameter settings to be saved within the pattern... and as mentioned the random pattern generator.

    You're good. 👍

But three or more sneaks would be officially classified as a sign of trying to alleviate cognitive dissonance caused by buyer's remorse, just sayin'. 🤓

    Actual lol.

  • @ashh I’d love to hear more of your experience w the DRM1 IV as I’ve been On The Verge with a preorder for a bit now.

There’s a thread for it now:

  • Back on DrumLab topic: is anyone else finding Saving a bit glitchy? Could well be my lack of understanding but both Patterns and Kits and keeping them all connected has been wobbly here. Also had a couple crashes but regardless of all the above still adore this app.

Patterns and kits are all saved automatically in the Song. Nothing to connect. No crashes here. It’s a great app IMHO!

Oh man I love it to death but for whatever reason it’s not Saving. When I reopen, past Patterns are empty and the Kit defaults to ‘Demo’. I think a reinstall might be in order here / will report back.

Create a new empty song first. Then choose your kit and create your patterns. It will auto-save after that.

Thanks man and not to derail into tech support here but save new song First (ah ha!) and as I’m finding out: if you sculpt the drum synth by hand as you go you gotta Save the Kit too.

Which makes sense / I banked that those setting auto-saved along w everything else under ‘Song’.

The drum synth really is a thing of beauty: the joy of Volca Drum in iOS form.

  • Anyone else noticed when you open it, you get coloured bars on both sides? Assume it’s not designed for an 11 inch screen?

I have those bars but only about 1 pixel wide (12.9 inch screen)

  • @yokotate Yeah, thanks. Must just be the app ratio... also noticed that DM2 has bars, but at least they are black so blend in.

  • Well. with all the new Drum Apps launched in the past few weeks... Must say, DrumLab is SPECIAL..

AUv3 will really make this... Priceless..

I believe so. Give me just a few mins and I will report back.

  • Bought this a few weeks ago when it was on sale for $.99 a while back and it’s so worth it. Might even like it more than DM1. Really a fantastic app.

I can navigate to ‘User Sounds’ (tap ‘Drums’, select the ‘Sampler’ engine, then ‘tap here to load a sample’... but after that not sure.)

User samples aside I had forgotten just how great this app is in general.

  • Wow, still on sale for $.99! Just picked it up. I'm a sucker for a good drum machine!

Unfortunately not. Thought I was gonna get to leave work early but no dice. Will check when I get home and report back.

  • Don’t look like you can ‘import’ a sample.. but there are a lot of kits you can ‘tweak’ and save as your personal sounds..
Pretty amazing app.. can only imagine it in Auv3..

  • I have the old DM1 collecting dust on my Mac. Does this new version have anything like a mutate function, like Bram’s rhythm apps do have, to bring some randomization in the beat while playing?

Automate any and, everything (well almost)..... well worth the $.99.

  • yeah, i don’t see sample import anywhere. i really wish there would be.

  • it has an option to import kits, but where do you import them from?

  • also, are there any other apps that do allow sample import, that are setup the same way? i find the sequencer very fast to setup, and lay out a song.
