Arp switch on/off has always been a mess with first version. I reported it several times to kvr but nothing has been done. Apparently, this is the same problem with version 2

FYI: this issue only happens with the new blue skin.

FYI : the blue skin has indeed a bug (when the arp is switched on, it disables the layer sound), but there are other bugs with all the skins : if you change the arp mode from sequence to arpeggiate, and deactivate the arp, you have to pass through the step recording mode (red button of the arp switch), and this automatically switches to Sequence mode again. So if you want to reactivate the arp again, you will have to change the mode manually again.

@kv331audio_bulent hello, did you have a look at this bug in the Arp module?

  • Beta update has hit test flight...

  • I’m still running into my main problems (iOS 13.7 !!)
    1. not possible to choose „FM“ in the routing. It always stays on „PM“ (standalone/auv3)
    2. the arp isn’t working in cubasis. If I draw a long note it doesn’t play the arp, it seems like the arp retrigger the first step all the time. If I use the SM2 keyboard the arp is running as expected.

    Anyone has the same problems🧐

  • SMP import is great... editing your favorite imported SMP presets (Arps, etc), is phenomenal... Thank you..

  • I'm finding the preset system pretty buggy:

    • When you save a preset if you assign a bank it doesn't work.
    • If you select a preset and go to the Info tab you can assign a bank that way and then save the preset. However once you exit the app this just gets forgotten.
    • Also preset management seems incomplete - most of the options listed in the manual aren't available in the iOS version. For example uploading to the Public User Library, exporting banks.

And one big question: can we share presets on iOS? If so, what is the workflow?

And it would be cool to be able to delete User Presets and Imported Files(wavetable/samples). So far i haven’t found an option for that.

Agreed, I'm hesitant to import a load of samples since there's no way to manage them...
    I've loaded most of my favorite SY85 wavs into SM2, Itopia-4-ever... :)

Another 'thing' I've not managed to do is to change the order of effects?

I could probably copy the settings, delete the effect, add it in another slot and paste the settings and when adding effects always leave an empty slot between the effects for 'arrange purposes' or something.

Considering SM2 uses long-tap quite a lot a long-tap on an effect-slot could allow one to 'lift the fx-slot' and move to another slot? I have no clue what @kv331audio_bulent is planning for SM2 so maybe this is already being worked on...

Another 'thing' that sometimes happens is that the output from SM2 'clips' core-audio and all audio goes silent.
Only way to get it back is to restart the app...
...this happens sometimes, not always, mostly when adding the distortion effect and cranking it up.

We'll see where things go, but if the next update allows import of presets from SynthMasterPlayer I'd be more than happy :)

    Cheers!

  • SM2 sounds wonderful. But it is IMPOSSIBLE to clear the Browser once opened (clicking on the Browse tab does nothing on second click). The only way I can get back to the main voice screen is to reboot. Bummer. Also, if I click on any of the FX view buttons, I can see those sub pages, but again, CANNOT get back to the main preset / voice screen. Anyone else have this problem? Any suggestions? Nothing in the OM about closing the browse screen Thanks!

From my reading here, I believe you tap on one of the other tabs, like Layers. The Browser is a tab, not a modal, though the dev has said he'll make it work both ways.

It’s fixed in the beta and tapping on the Browser button again takes you back to the previous screen so it will be fixed. For now tap on Layer buttons to get back to the main screen.

+1 Richard! I spent an hour yesterday making a patch from init/scratch and when I went to save it the whole app crashed on me suddenly. When I rebooted it up again of course my patch was lost. I would like to request a on save on latest preset/patch used before quitting the APP feature in an future update and not have it automatically going back to I think it’s called brainstorm patch. Man was I upset. It was one of the best ones I ever made. Yes, the user preset saving system is buggy. Also, I created so many ED user banks that I need to delete a bunch of the empty ED made ones. How does one delete these user made banks? Hopefully these growing pains will soon be sorted. I love this thing ya’ll! Cheers, ED

  • @ElektrikDiva I've also had a few crashes when saving presets, so I've learnt to save early and often when I'm designing a new one.

  • @kv331audio_bulent @kv331audio

Could you please clarify if there is any way to share presets on iOS? Thanks.

thanks for the Layers tip. I thought I tried every button to get out of the browser, apparently not!

Touché! Lesson learned the hard way. Cheers, ED

  • Loving the app & no really annoying bugs as yet for me. I do find when I use it in AUM the first time I start a session & use my external midi keyboard without fail it goes straight to midi stuck note. If I close AUM & re-open immediately it is then fine. So now I just open-close-open AUM at the start of each session & all is good.

Some sounds that I enjoy like, ‘BT Freak Me’ (BigTone Signature Sounds Vol 1).. Can be edited in SM2.. Removing, adjusting the Seq/Arp, etc…

  • I heard somewhere (sorry, don't remember where) that the new SM2 will read .sfw files - is it true? @kv331audio_bulent ?

What are sfw files? did you mean sf2 ? We don't have plans for soundfont files yet.

“ Users can now restore SynthMaster Player iOS iAPs” - that’s great to see as I have a number of packs that I bought for Synthmaster Player IOS. But how do I get them into SM2? Simply pressing Restore IAPs doesn’t seem to work. I found the drop down to import from SMP but it asks for the registration details again, then says it didn’t download anything.

  • Can anyone explain to me how the feedback knob on the delay effect works. It's seems like the neutral position is 12 o'clock and you can add feedback by moving anti-clockwise or clockwise. Whats the difference between these two? Why not normal feedback control 0-100%?

Yeah just doesn't seem to work does it

I’ve submitted an error report so hopefully it will get sorted.

It’s 0% at 12. Positive feedback cw (100%), and negative feedback ccw (-100%).

Tried to download an individual SMP IAP I already own and ended up paying for it again, did a return.

  • @0tolerance4silence yes well its the concept of negative feedback I am struggling with. Found this ...

...negative feedback is achieved by adding a polarity inverted portion of the output signal back to the input. This is a stable form of feedback used universally as a correcting signal in amplifiers, and it acts to control the overall gain and cancel out errors in the amplifier itself (ie, it helps to reduce distortion).

In contrast, positive feedback results in howlrounds because the output signal is added to the input signal, effectively increasing the gain.

    and this...

With very short delays it allows you to achieve stronger, more coloured, delay-based effects, like phasing, flanging etc. And with longer delays it allows tape-echo and other reverb-like effects effects.
