Try it for yourself. Enter Browse mode and start playing a patch. Switch patches. Switch patches while not playing, then switch patches while playing. See if it’s reproducible on your device(s).
Nope. iPad 8th gen. iOS 14.6
Interesting. Both standalone mode and used in a DAW as AUv3? And which DAW?
I have no problem in standalone using the builtin keyboard while browsing. A video might help isolate why it is happening to you bit not others.. Often there is something relevant abut the conditions that trigger an that are made clear by a demonstration.
I can reliably reproduce this on Novation hardware like the Launchkey 25. I can make a video, but there isn’t much to see. Yes play a few notes and then one or more notes will get stuck. Only way to get out it to force quit.
I reported that already but I forgot to make a video. Happens also in SM1 and Factory by Sugarbytes.
Thanks for confirming.
i am having the same issue but cannot find the exact cause of those sticking notes.
edit: i am just using the built-in keyboard of sm2. standalone and auv3. btw also with synthmaster one
Which device and which version of iOS?
Are you changing presets while a note is still held down?
Is there any common factor to the patches playing when the notes stick (such as arpeggiator/sequencer)?
Tonight I'll have time I think, then I'll do more tests. So far it seems that I just play a few notes, and then after a while one will get stuck.
It only happens with the Novation hardware and only in standalone. When I use my Cobalt 8X it works flawlessly. I had the suspicion that it's something with the MIDI notes, but the monitor doesn't show anything odd and I don't have problems in other synths or apps.
So far with no one else having this problem I thought it's some wierd bug with my iPad.
Did we get to this yet?
Thanks..
I've gotten the stuck note once while browsing. There was nothing special going on, I chose a patch and played a few notes, one note (C) stuck and stayed that way until I quit the app. I've tried but I haven't been able to reproduce the issue. iPad Air v3, standalone version.
Edit: I was using the on screen keyboard.
Do you know if the problem keyboard sends a MIDI Note Off message (8x), or a Note On (9x) with velocity zero? (You can check this with MIDI Wrench, or any other MIDI monitor.) Both are valid ways to end a note, but the Note On style could be missed depending on the app processing. This happened last year in AB3 where it was scaling Note On velocities, and dropping all notes with zero velocity. Of course, this was pretty obvious, and the cause was clear, once understood.
Same issue here, submitted a bug report during beta…..
😔
Concerning audio dropouts/crackles on iPad Pro M1 - isn’t this the same ”system core bug” that occured on iPad Pro 2nd gen (2017) when this model was new on the market?
I recall today this thread I started 2017 when I had problem with both crackles and dropouts (and latencyproblem) - Bulent, did you remember this? @kv331audio_bulent
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/20114/new-ipad-pro-12-9-2017-problem-with-latency-and-digital-noise-seems-to-be-fixed-ios-11-1-b2#latest
Very clever modulation handling. Kudos. Sorry if this is common knowledge but I discovered it by accident. Amazing idea.
For those who don't know: touch a knob, turn it and you can move the knob position. Hold knob for a second or so and then turn it around=controlling the amount of the mod source. Brilliant. No more switching to matrix for me.
Just curios but are there any other Synths doing it this way? Great concept.
But I discovered two display bugs: VCA filter still shows dual when set to one of the last three modes. And the delay starts with sync on but gui looks like non sync delay version. I have to turn sync off and on again to get the sync timings. And feedback is at 50% default and sounds like 0% so I have to move the knob to get the real feedback.
Edit: apparently the feedback knob is bipolar. My fault. Maybe I should rtfm.
And sometimes there are some parts of the gui missing e.g. in the mod matrix are missing some elements like amount knob which appears after pressing the matrix button again.
Au and standalone mode: iOS 14.6 and 6th generation iPad.
I’ve got a bug; sorry if it’s already been mentioned, but I was unable to find it……On both of my iPad Pro 12.9” and 9’, I am unable to close the Browse Preset window once opened. Tapping the lit Browse button does not close it. I have to shut the whole app down.
This is a fabulous synth and I want to tske advantage of everything it has to offer. Anyone have a solution yet?
@StudioSisu just hit another button like the layer or matrix.
Browse is a tab rather than a toggle. I think I read that they are considering changing to a toggle.
Yes, it’s a glaring inconsistency considering Synthmaster One “Browse” button IS a toggle.
Funny, I missed that one. Tapping Layer gets me outta there. Thanks, everyone.
is there a way to direct out an oscillator or even better a modulator, or does they always have to go through filter and effects? My current workflow is to use layer 2 for sub osc but maybe there is a better workflow?
turn off filters ?
@kv331audio_bulent - putting quotes around no-compromise in the new title of the thread kind of compromises the meaning of no-compromise
...
This is a pretty brilliant synth you've unleashed on us, so the quotes are not needed. No-compromise it is! > @espiegel123 said:
Indeed, @kv331audio_bulent confirmed earlier he will change it to work as a toggle, like some of us here requested.
Yes thats what i do right now, but then i cant use filter 2 for OSC 2
I love to use modulator one as an Sub osc but then it goes through the effects and filtes of Osc1. But i guess the best way is to use layer 2 osc1 as a sub and deactivate the filter
Did you try split mode ?
Osc 1 -> goes to output, Filter 1 is off.
Osc 2 -> goes to Filter 1 -> goes to output.
Yes that’s what i mostly do. This seems to be the most flexible way.
I just asked because when I make a patch with 2 osc both with a filter and the sub as Modulator osc, I thought I could direct out it, but it’s hardwired to osc 1. Not a problem at all since this thing can literally do anything
Just submitted 1.0.2 beta on TestFlight. I hope Apple approves this tonight. This one fixes a lot of things:
New Features:
Bug Fixes:
Known Issues:
Sounds like good progress.
Are you working on the stuck keyboard key that repeatedly happens in Browse mode when auditioning sounds?
This weeks best news!!!
