oupon they'd be able to purchase anything from our web shop.

@kv331audio_bulent - if I registered with my desktop sm2.9 serial in the beta, which has automatically transferred to the released version (which I've just purchased) will I still get the discount voucher? Thanks...👍

Please wait until I implement that and test it :) Right now it sends you a 30% Off discount coupon, not credit coupon.

  • BTW, here's the video demonstrating how you can register with your SynthMaster 2.9 desktop serial number and download all desktop presets (including factory presets). Looks like downloading factory presets happen when you select "Download Bonus Presets". I'll try to be more clear on that in the next update.

Thanks - it's an incredible synth on ipad and desktop...👍

  • This app is too good, had the beta and stress test it and it was solid so purchasing the full app was a no brainier

I take it that it has just replaced the beta app?

Hi @kv331audio_bulent will Synthmaster 2 be updated to be Universal? (Work on iPhone too?)

I’ve already bought it & am looking forward to exploring..Thanks for releasing a beast of a synth! 👍🎧🚀🎛🌈

Well hopefuly at some point we'll finish up on the iPhone layouts as well. Would probably happen after we finish our work on SynthMaster 3 desktop and then start our work on SynthMaster 3 iOS. (Yes we will release SynthMaster 3 as an iOS app as well, hopefuly debuting at NAMM Show 2023)

    Excellent!

    Yep!

  • will Synthmaster 1 continue to be supported?

I'm curious that Synthmaster 3 is already being promoted in this thread...

How do these synths co-exist? I guess they're not replacing each other?

You might want to scan through the thread as these were discussed. SM2 does not replace SM1 which will continue to be supported. Did you notice that when he mentioned SM3 that the target release is more than 18 months in the future?

  • thanks for filling me in @espiegel123
the early thread was beta-focused so i only skimmed it
    :)

Synthmaster 2 is not the successor to Synthmaster ONE. It's a little confusing, but I would assume that's why it's called ONE and not 1.

SM ONE has less features then SM 2 and should be seen as a standalone product that does slightly different things. They aren't completely different though, so I get where the confusion comes from.

SM 3 for iOS is (most likely) coming NAMM 2023, that's two years from now. A lot can happen in that time also, so I wouldn't wait for that.

    Dear @kv331audio_bulent,
Thanks for this movie. Does it mean without purchase IAP "Desktop Presets Upgrade", but only by provide desktop SM2 serial is it possible to get 1950 presets?

If so, I have to correct an earlier entry to not mislead anyone. Instead of clicking "Download Bonus Presets" I clicked "Download Desktop Expansion" + serial numbe and it did nothing. I saw the additional presets after buying the IAP. Probaby I made a mistake again, as usulal :D

  • I'll be getting the bundle and then the whole package add-on. 😁

@kv331audio_bulent, @kv331audio… Love the quality of sounds I’m getting so far on this synth!

    Several things I’ve noticed:

First, when picking patches in the “Browse” drop-down menu, the previous patch name selection does not deselect until one does a series of “choose, then un-choose” steps in between. Please look into fixing this. Also, it might make sense and be more intuitive to be able to click on the “Browse” button again to close the browser view.

Second, when drilling down into the various screens for patch editing, it is not clearly obvious how to get back to the main menu. Can a button be added for a “Home” or “Main” screen view? I’ve tapped around aimlessly numerous times attempting to get out of various screens.

Finally, when using the synth as an AUv3 in GarageBand there is no keyboard when the app is maximized. It only shows the edit screens. This makes it difficult (if not impossible) to easily edit the current patch sound since it cannot be played (unless one has already recorded something on the current track in GarageBand).

With a little more fine tuning, this will be the killer synth of the year.

Tap the Macros button, we put the keyboard in there.

"Browse" button is a tab button, just like "Layer1" "Layer2", "FX" or "Info" tab buttons. It doesn't open up a popup window.

Yes! We stated this clearly on the registration window, see screenshot:

Download Desktop Expansions doesn't download the desktop factory presets, only desktop expansions. I also had to go through the "Download Bonus Presets" to be able to download factory presets. Maybe we should make this process more clear.

So one cannot see or use the keyboard in any screen view other than the Macro view? This makes editing sounds very difficult. I’d rather have access to some kind of keyboard in all views, whether that’s the GB keyboard or a much smaller one in the app itself.

Obviously, if one has an external keyboard this isn’t an issue. It’s a showstopper if there is no external keyboard.

Whether or not it’s a pop-up window isn’t really the concern. The point is being able to exit any function at any time and easily return to an identifiable main screen.

Thanks for listening to users, and keep up the great work!

Not ideal, but you could run something like GridInstrument as an overlay:

  • edited June 2021

@NeuM In garageband, why don’t you just use the garageband keyboard?

Use the two arrows at the top right of the SM2 window to switch between the two different synth pages.

RE: ‘main’ screen, If you want to go back to a synth layer, you just press the appropriate synth layer button.

Then why even offer a full screen version of the app? The reason is because more of the UI fits on one screen, that’s why. The “half-height keyboard in the standalone version of the app could be used in the full screen version of the app when it’s being used as an AUv3. I’m sure there are technical reasons why this was designed this way, but these reasons are not relevant to the user.

Anybody already summarized in how far this differs or enhances on the first version?
Skipping over the posting, I don't get it immediately....

Just in case this was written already 😅🤗

    SynthMaster 2:

    1. Has 2 layers (SM1 only 1)
    2. Has sample playback
    3. Has more modulation sources (multisegmented envelopes, sequencers, keyscalers)
    4. Has more complex fx routing, and you can instantiate the same effect multiple times (not possible in SM1)
    5. Has additive and vector oscillators (SM1 doesn't)
    6. Has more presets, more expansions :)
  • @NeuM said:

I second this; the other three buttons in that cluster (Save, Settings and About) already behave exactly that way, so the user is led to expect that behaviour from Browse as well.

Some of the sounds are fantastic!
Some great and very original textures!
    I love it!
I'm not at all a synth guy,but I will use it a lot for sure.
    Very inspiring!
Thanks a lot for your hard work and your creativity @kv331audio_bulent .

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Contrary to SynthMaster one, I can’t insert SM2 as a Music effect in ApeMatrix, so no audio can be fed in. Do you know how to use the vocoder ? Thanks !

Guys, Apple hasn't approve the bundle yet. I hope that happens today!

    Ok, good to know...

Regarding the 'Desktop Presets Upgrade' is it the same bunch of presets that come with desktop SynthMaster Player?

Hopefully we'll be able to transfer the iOS SynthMaster Player IAPs to SynthMaster Two at some point in time :)
(Time to go get some more AppStore gift cards...).

    Cheers!

    +1
