Drambo 2.0 will blow minds, destroy your GAS.

And It can partially cure AAP (App Acquisition Syndrome) as well once you give it time and get to know what it can do :sunglasses:

If you struggle with something please ask away... D is so vast that comprehensive documentation is nearly impossible... the more questions asked over the time the more answers there will be available for the next user and better we will understand areas of confusion or what needs improving.
There is no bad question... better you describe what you’re after easier it is to provide help.

So as I am trying to get back into iOS and even making music…. I am hoping that I can stop going to so many things…. AUM, Cubasis, Loopy, blocswave, etc….. I would love to stay in one environment. I am hoping that there will be some cool videos of the new stuff!!!

If I have one question now, is there any sort of timeline, like a traditional DAW that one can expect with this?

    Cheers

  • ok, since it’s coming, what was all this 77 business?

  • Wait, there's a Drambo beta?

  • Built number that marked the first RC

It is still a pattern based environment.
Piano roll may help with note editing, launcher may help with song arrangements, but at its core it’s still pattern based.
That said, with some new midi recording features and stem recording you can mimic what you want and more will come to help to utilise that type of use case.

I hope so -- watching Benn Jordan's Polyend Play video this morning was a poor choice, D2 can't get here soon enough! :D

Oh yeah, Polyend Play ain't got nothing on D2.

    Not yet. I've requested this.

The beta team hasn't only been busy with beta testing but also writing a manual, improving the help text in each module and making quick start videos introducing the new features.
The videos will go public with the release of the new version.

I'm happy I was wrong, thanks to the beta team for all the effort!

Yepp, and the WaveTable IAP also gets a bunch of new modules (including a vocoder) so it's worth a grab...

  • Is launchpad support on the roadmap? I'm currently trying sell mine on eBay but if it's gonna be a thing I'll keep it..

There are few. But this update was mostly about refining the workflow. I think we will see plenty of new modules in a bit...

giku loves to work on those the most :D

    That’s for @giku_beepstreet to confirm.
Still, you can do quite a few things even with the standard LP X custom grids and dRambo.

    For instance;

I was told by the dev that it will be one of the first things implemented after v2 drops.

  • It’s funny to see that the release of the poly lay thing released a huge wave of excitement for Drambo 2.0 haha

I appreciate the helpfulness of this community. It's a nice place to come chill.

  • Thanks @Samu and @aleyas

I wasn't really expecting it to be as fully-featured as Logic's. Just being able to enter notes, and especially chords, without having to having a running clip makes a huge difference. And who knows? Perhaps it's utility will increase over time.

Either way, I get the feeling that Drambo will be a future purchase :)

Without any doubts what so ever :sunglasses:

    Haha! Brilliant!

But does Dr. have an onscreen keyboard (Internal i.e not reliant on being used within AUM)?

    ooh, nice adsr/sliders redesign.
i'm getting nostalgic reaktor 6 vibes

  • @rs2000 as I said before I don't feel like I need anything else from Drambo (except for a circular buffer flexi sampler), but this release still has me so excited, it's great to see it. It's like I want it to succeed, and I rarely, if ever get that feeling with any kind of product.

True story: I live in a San Francisco Bay Area suburb where I assumed most adults were boring programmers like myself. I took my kid to a playdate with a friend at a park. Long story short: the other dad, who is a music teacher, ended up buying Drambo and playing with it. The kids had to drag each of us back home.
