I Juist bought Samplecrate and played a bit with it.
While having selected a MIDI file i pressed "Add to crate". The error message "Blah blah can only add audio files blahblah" popped up - which was expected.
The MIDI file got added to the crate anyway and locked up the app.
Maybe you could have a look at that.
After killing the app and restarting it took a while and when it came up the crate was clean again.
Thanks. Fixed it. But I already submitted an update to Apple. It'll be in the next one.
I don't know why it's taking so long for them to review this one...

I've sent an update for Sample Crate. Basically you can loop samples now and hopefully I've fixed the crashes some of you were encountering.
• Added Loop Function in Crate Edit Mode. So you can toggle pads on and off to play loops
• Fixed some crashes that were occurring for some users.
• Added a link to the Video Manual
hey @alecsbuga I connected my iPad to a shared folder on my windows 10, I have access to all my samples there but I have two problems:
1.- SC is showing mi .als files, I have one for each sample because I use ableton, it's very annoying, can I hide them?
2.- when previewing sounds every 3 or so samples I preview the whole folder "updates" and I lose my position
Maybe you never tested for this use case, but this would be perfect for having a giant sample library without using my precious iPad space xD

@the others: Thank you guys, I'm glad you like it so much. As for iOS15, I'm sorry but it's too much hassle to make it for 14. Mostly UI stuff.
I also see other file types that I can't recall at the moment.
Feature request (if possible):
Highlight the selected file and also keep it that way after playback has ended, so that we can quickly see which file it was.
If you do, use the feedback button so I can centaralize feedback on Gmail.

Can Sample Crate instantly play a sample while in Columns view? Rather than Icons or List view?
Or is this a limitation of Apple Files App?
Also, is there a way to show the saved Crates on the left?
Finally, is 'Create Sample Chain' still broken? It's still showing as a 4KB file. All 20 samples in the Crate below are 16bit 44.1kHz.

Nope. It's an iOS thing. If you DO tap Open on that info pane it plays it automatically though.

No it shouldn't but another user reported an issue with this.
Can you use the Send Feedback button (so I can save it in Gmail) and give me more details about your device/ios version and send over some of the samples? or at least what format they are.
I'm suspecting some devices sample rate is different and it somehow misbehaves.

You probably already know this but just in case, a lot of modern devices are locked to 48k unless using an external interface (my air4 being one)
I know, but when I'm processing the buffer I'm doing it at the device's sample rate.

Sample Crate's already an essential app for me on the iPad.
Previewing and sorting samples, building and saving kits ('Crates'), and transferring them to my hardware samplers' drives over USB saves considerable time versus my old method. Sample Chains would shave a few more minutes, so looking forward to the fix.
Appreciate your app and effort. Looking forward to see how Sample Crate evolves.
I fixed it. I was stupid, and changed something. It used to work fine, so that's why I was certain it works ok
)
Basically I had this issue before, and I was converting each file to the exporting format, but I changed something in the meantime and messed it up.
I'm pushing an update today.
Wicked news! I can now enjoy Xmas how it was meant to be enjoyed, sorting samples and cue sets for when I can final get back in the studio 🎅🏻
