You can only perform any operation one file at a time. I would expect Search to be a preliminary step to further operations but it’s sort of a dead end. Plus if I search and eg: move or share one file, the search results disappear. The implementation is weird. Pretty much everything else in Files works as I would expect but not this.
Just tested. Yeah that's weird. Unfortunately I can't do anything about it. That's how Files work.
At least you can drag a file to the tags in the sidebar. So you don't have to long press on each and tap ADD TAG
Please, if possible can you support physical keyboard to map sim key event.
so it’ll be possible to preview /listen to samples just by selecting a sample then hitting the up and down arrow keys on the physical keyboard to listen for the next or previous sample without having to click on it.
It supports it. You move with the arrow keys and tap CMD + DOWN to open the file, thus triggering the play

I can’t seem to get the renaming to work? Moved all my samples to the sample create directory but still won’t work? Any ideas? 🤔
Not in iCloud Drive, but in On My iPad / Sample Crate. Sometimes iCloud behaves oddly and it doesn't create that directory.
I'm already working on an automated "copy & rename".
So the good news is the app is in review so it should be available today-ish

Yeah I had them in the ‘On My iPad’ folder. I just tried again after a restart and this time waited a bit longer in the same window. It took a sec but it seemed the renaming worked but some file names didn’t update till I played them? Just want to say thanks again for your hard work on this though, it’s a dream to use. File management is the least fun part of music making so it gets overlooked a lot, this app is a MUCH needed addition to iOS!
Only thing I’m hoping for eventually is a way to scrub through samples 🙈

Yeah, iOS takes a while because it's not renaming. It's moving files. so basically it moves from old location to new renamed location.
I'll look into it maybe there's a way to hook up into the process so I can display a progress bar. Or at least show a notice "Be patient, it may take a while". Thanks!

Makes sense that it takes a while though. Progress bar or notice would be sweet but honestly, it’s be no means even close deal breaker at all, just being able to organise my shit on the iPad itself is incredible!

Just had a hard crash and lost my Crate after renaming a bunch of files and entering and exiting the Crate view. I’ll see if i can replicate the bug again for you.
