I bought the unlock. Are the rest on offer as IAP as good as what I’m already hearing? Thx.

Little help, if possible folks? I had nearly all the Animoog IAPs. I successfully imported them, but there is no sound from any of them! All the Z sounds sound perfectly… is there a solution or, as is more likely, something basic that I’m not doing right?

You have to import timbres and presets together.
    1. Put timbres and presets all in the same folder instead of separate folders
    2. Compress folder
    3. Share folder to Animoog Z!

Don’t worry, Animoog Z will only import what’s needed.

Good huh? The testing has been a joy!

As I wrote, I just compared the Default preset.... and it is wayyy better in the original IAA Animoog!

Thanks for looking closely into Animoog Z, the preset Default has been changed to use an initial path that is three-dimensional and is set up for 16 voice polyphony, so it is intended to sound different. The original Default preset had very long release trails that worked great with 4 voices, but quickly sounds too busy with 16 voices. Since the Default preset is the starting point of sound design for many, we thought it was important to enable the 16 voices in Animoog Z and to tweak the preset for that.

    <3 your friends at Moog

Many thanks, friends from Moog 🤗

I would like to get the old Default preset working in the new App - not only because I like it better than the new default preset, but also to simply check if the new App can do this exactly the same.
I would not not buy the App otherwise.

I will try to import the Default preset individually and compare again.

P.S. We really need a way to import a zip file with presets!
I cannot get Animoog Z to show up in the share sheet as target for such a file!

Animoog Z makes such interesting sounds

my fingers can land and lol on a couple of keys, and just stay and play there for sges

i'm keeping the original Animoog with me ... i couldn't imagine my ipad without it :)

The note launcher preset all by itself is hugely entertaining!

I zipped the whole Animoog folder, as was documented.

Do it all in one folder instead, meaning grab all preset files and timbres then dump them in the same folder to compress. Worked better for me! Moog is updating the app today with a smoother import process.

    Oh, fantastic 🤗🤗🤗

Meanwhile, you could try the other import method posted in the other thread:

    • Have Animoog Z standalone app open in the background.
    • Go to Files app,
    • drag the animoog zip file to the bottom right of the screen.
    • Animoog Z icon should show at the bottom right
    • Let go, and it opens the Z app and allows import confirmation.

Works for me and works for other animoog zipped presets.

Thanks Mike. Thing is, when I open up my animoog folder in Files, there doesn’t seem to be a timbres folder and I don’t know how to extract them from the App…
I do appreciate the steer, though.

Whats going wrong here compared to when I do it is you don't need to show the ios dock, just dragging zip file to the bottom right of Files when AZ is open in background works for me.

    Not for me.
But it can happen that instead iZip Pro get's opened - no idea why

Right, maybe iZip pro has hijacked that process, i don't have that installed.

  • Sharing the zip is a mess on iOS, it needs another way of importing them.

Apple has the annoying tendency that they try to "make things as easy as possible" which most of the times renders things into a state that cannot be handled anymore at all.

    I agree :)

    Oh.

The new App is not IAA anymore 😳😳😳😱😱😱

That means, we exchange IAA by AU... not add AU

Well you can’t blame them for not adding a deprecated technology. I would imagine that’s going to happen more and more often now.

    Oh nice, good to know!

Does the free version have MPE locked, or is there a button I'm not seeing to activate it? I'm getting pitch bends tied to all channels. Meaning one note can't pitch bend separately from another. Which is.... not MPE. Aftertouch IS working properly with MPE, which is good, but I'm a little worried right now about pitchbends. I don't really have any use for another synth that isn't actually fully MPE

You have to select MPE in Settings->MIDI->CHANNEL (at the very bottom)

Holy shit haha... I spent like 5 hours last night looking for MPE mode in the channel drop down menu like you said and couldn't find anything! turns out the the screen protector I have wrapped around my ipad covers the bottom part of my screen JUST enough to hide that part of the app. Mystery solved!

Now that I got it working I'm super impressed how all the presets are programmed for MPE. That's an industry first! And there's something about Moog synths that just sound... far superior to anything else.

    I cannot do that.
I only move around in the Files App, when trying that.
Or, it wants to open my iZip App... no idea why

As written, I can only open the Dock with the other hand and drop the file then - which opens the App, but does not start any import.

@tja: one doesn’t drag on to the dock. Open Animoog z standalone. Now go to Files. Tap drag the zip file to the lower right corner of the screen. When you approach the corner, a gray rectangle with Animoog Zs icon in it will appear. Drop on that rectangle.
