Speaking of MIDI, is there a way for the one shots to act as true sampler one shots rather than as loops? I've been through every setting and I haven't figured this one out: I assign note C2 to play a one shot and it does so; if I try to retrigger the sample by playing C2 it just keeps playing the sample instead of retriggering from the start of the sample. Is there any way to get the desired "sampler behavior" from a one shot?
Can you post screenshots to show all the relevant settings?
What happens when you manually trigger?
Is this a one-shot or a loop set to play once?
Argh, my bad. I hooked up a MIDI monitor and figured out that I had the controller set in latch mode.
Actually, it may not have been just the latching controller that threw me off. @espiegel123 can you make a square clip and let me know if the loop vs play once option is present for you? It is def there for a donut loop but not a square clip. Latest beta version.
Is this a loop or a one-shot? One shots don't have a play-once vs loop option. That is only for loops.
Can you post a picture of the global settings and the work surface?
Also, is the issue only with MIDI or when you tap with fingers?
Hey Guys, hopefully someone can answer my question: Can I use Rozeta's LFO to control cutoff of a high pass filter?
I've added a midi track with rozeta and that goes into virtual midi, I then midi learn and tap on HP and match the CC13 from virtual midi to control the cut off parm on the HP, but it doesn't modulate it.
Am I doing something wrong / have I missed a step?
Can you post screenshots of how you have it set up? Are you trying to control Loopy Pro’s high-pass filter via midi from rozeta?
If so, you need to bounce the midi back to loopy. The virtual midi port sends midi out of Loopy. In 1.0, that means you need to bounce things back . See this page for details:
https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=loopy_pro_tips_and_tricks
Yes, and Rozeta is hosted inside loopy.
Is virtual midi outside of loopy then? kinda an iOS system thing? if so, that would make sense to send back to loopy.
I'll have to redo it as I deleted it when it wasn't working, oops! sounds like it's possible . thanks for the help. If I can't get it working I'll return with screen shots.
Virtual Midi Out sends midi out of loopy. It is used for other apps to receive midi from Loopy. It is the port other apps see as Loopy Pro.
One question for @Michael : I am using LP for more than a year now and I have been able to install the last update without having to pay something. When will I be charged again ?
Hi, I’m on the beta team and it seems to be stuck on the free version. Even if I “purchase” it says ok but still no access to any of the paid functions. Same if I do the “7 day trial”.
Also, going back to the regular paid version (non TestFlight) partly messes up my project. Some loops tempos are off. Is anyone on the TestFlight experiencing this?.
I think Michael said something about how the re-up is being saved for the next big feature update.
It’s Apple https://developer.apple.com/system-status/
Yup, Michael's right there; all the updates so far have been free. 1.1 will include some major updates which are free, and some which are going to be covered by the upgrade, if it's been more than 12 months since original purchase. I'm hoping to get 1.1 out within a month or two.
I can confirm 1.1 is an absolute banger 👍
Midi loops\Clips.. with Key/Scale transpose (Global) would be…. Revolutionary..
So, still no success in controlling Filter cutoff via Rozeta LFO, both are hosted in LP. I've mapped virtual MIDI out to filter cutoff as CC13 ch1, same as Rozeta LFO 1 is sending (I've also pressed play on LP transport and Rozeta LFO animating).
here's screenshots of I've how set it up:
Just tried this and I can’t get it work either. I added Rozeta LFO as midi and also a Miditools Bus (in case that would help). But on the “midi learn” none are listed as devices…
Thanks for confirming! I guess Virtual MIDI does support CC, not just note data.
[EDIT] - I 've managed to map Rozeta LFO CC ---> TAL-U-NO-LX inside of LP. Guess it's a limitation on the the LP stock filters?!?
There are two different ways of using MIDI in a host like LP. One is the "normal" way where you route MIDI from one app into another. The receiving app, like a synth, expects MIDI and responds. The other way is what AUM calls "MIDI Control", and Audiobus calls "MIDI Learn". This allows you to use MIDI messages from outside the host to control AUv3 parameters via MIDI mapping. Those other hosts allow you to route internally-generated MIDI to MIDI control, but Loopy Pro does not.
So, you need to load another app (from the Home Screen, not in LP) that can echo its MIDI input, route the generated MIDI to the external app, and use the incoming messages to control AUv3. StreamByter is one such app. Load it, route the MIDI to the StreamByter input port, and receive it back from the StreamByter output port.
Note that LP's Virtual MIDI in and out ports are not involved in this. And MIDI ports are unidirectional (one way), so LP's Virtual MIDI out port is not connected to its Virtual MIDI in port, though they have the same name. (The AUM dev recently caused AUM's virtual ports to appear as "AUM Source" and "AUM Receiver" in the host's routing matrix, trying to reduce this confusion.)
How are you bouncing the MIDI back into Loopy Pro? The article I linked to explains that you need to bounce the MIDI sent out of Loopy back into it by using something like Streambyter as a standalone app or miRack or MiDi Tools’ MIDI Route.
Tahiche if you use midi Route, did you set it to send the midi to virtual midi in? Midi route routes between ports it doesn’t have a port of its own
Hey @Michael . Can I just confirm that if I buy LP now (…ish), that I'll qualify for that 1.1 upgrade, and any other paid upgrades for the following 12 months? Thanks 🙏
Confirmed!
That’s great! Many thanks 😊
Question... Projects created in LP standalone are missing when you open LP in AUM (as a tool). I don't understand why this is happening. And where are the projects created in LP saved when it is open in AUM?
Due to the way AUs work, they cant use he parent apps hind folder but use a folder the OS doesn’t expose. In the project browser, is a special folder where the AUs projects are. More here:
https://wiki.audiob.us/doku.php?id=loopy_pro
I think it is also mentioned in the manual.
Thank you very much. Understood.
