You can route Gadget audio into Loopy Pro AUv3 (not standalone) by loading Gadget as an input in AUM or Audiobus, then the AUv3 Loopy into an FX slot. If you want to work with the standalone then you can capture the loop in the AUv3, copy it to the clipboard, and paste it into the standalone.
Yes. I have it on by default. Its set in the system settings and not within the app. So I did not enable it for my test since it already was enabled.
Yes, I know. But this is too much of a workaround for my taste. I am not so dependent on Gadget audio. I am still testing what is possible and wanted to sequence some one shot drumpads that I set up in LP and since I do not have a AUv3 sequencer I tried Gadget and was pleased to find it working.
I am on the road right now and can‘t wait to hook up my studio to LP to test further workflows. And I can sure wait until IAA will be supported.
OK, I was just checking since that would be one possible explanation for why it works on the iPhone and not on the iPad. In that case, if you've checked carefully that the Gadget output and Loopy input settings are exactly the same on both devices, the only other suggestion I have is to try rebooting the iPad. You'd be surprised how often this fixes odd problems like this.
I think the issue about getting the midi to loopy has been resolved,no? I thought it was just a matter of using virtual midi in as the source in loopy pro and sending to the loopy pro port from gadget.
Or is that still not working, @Doc_T ?
Maybe I skimmed the posts too quickly. If so, then I'm glad it's resolved.
Loving Loopy Pro, which is actually getting me closer to assembling a full track, instead of just endlessly noodling! Quick question: is there a way to move a bunch loops around in sequence view? I’ve found the selection tool in the bottom right corner and can select a bunch of loops, but my two options appear to be Delete and Copy. I want to slide a whole bunch of stuff 16 bars to the right to make room for a new Intro section. The manual section covering the Sequencer is all “Coming Soon…”
And just because I’m having so much fun…
The only way that I have found is to turn on the selection mode. Select the clips that I want to move. Putting the playhead where I want the new events to start and then paste. I am hoping we'll be able to drag multiple selections.
Cool, that’s what I was suspecting. If I have faith in the clipboard, i can Copy everything, Delete everything, move to the right, then Paste everything… should work!
Yes, its solved. Thanks to everyone.
Is there a way to tell if you're copy is paid for?
If you have access to any of the features after 7 days, it’s paid for.
If you mean during the first 7 days? I don’t recall the details, but I remember there being a clear visual indicator.
Hi, how you drive colours on XTouch to match Loopy?
Thanks. It hasn't been 7 days yet but I'll know after the weekend I guess.
I'm using an X32 Producer (not shown) as my audio interface. Overkill for sure, but I had it available for other reasons (PA for a band I've played in over the years). So the X-Touch is really just acting as a control surface for the X32, which allows you to configure channel colors. I set up a bank of 8 inputs (from modular and my bass) colored to match Loopy, and a color-matched bank of 8 outputs to keep things simple. I actually really like the "color == voice" paradigm that Loopy encourages, but I've essentially pulled out the mixer functions to an external control surface.
I spent some time this past weekend looking into whether I could program/configure the X-Touch as a custom control surface for Loopy Pro -- independent of the x32 -- but this turned out to be challenging...
None of my AU effects are showing when I tap on the + to add them in the mixer. The only options showing are the built in effects (which are pretty slick I have to say). They do show when I fire up Loopy Pro on its own straight from the icon on a standalone way.
AUv3 apps can't host AUv3s. The only way you can use AUv3 plugins is in the standalone version.
Ah…… right, thanks @wim.
@JohnInBoston
I see. I have 1 piece main and 3 XT. In StreamByter I was able to set colour of LCD, but writing to sceeen was „little” complicated. I not use lcds at now.
All The controllers are usable in Drambo and LoopyPro, i mean also buttons can act like 8x4 Matrix.
Earlier I tried to use xtouchs with Ableton, TotalMix and as LaunchPad simulation, it is cameleon.
Is there a trick to getting Loopy working as an AU in NS2? I have tried all the different sync options and the initial loop does not want to record any of the input signal, which I can see is coming through OK. It does the usual pre-record loop but then stops with a solid empty loop rather than the usual waveform record animation. Same settings work fine in AUM.
Is there a way to add images to widgets?
No. Some people use emojis, but that's as far as it goes at this time.
Is there a simple way to create a master fader in LP in the Standalone using a midi controller? I use the SL Mixface. cheers
Can you explain more? There is a master fader on the Loopy Pro mixer. Are you asking how to control the master fader via midi? If so, midi learn the fader.
Ah thanks sometimes things are so simple you overlook them.
Thankyou to @espiegel123 who solved my last question.
Unfortunately I have a new question.
I use a Launchpad Pro (not the latest) with LP which works when the ipad finds the ports and automatically assigns all the correct ands and lights, which in theory is brilliant. My main problem is the fact that the Launchpad Pro comes with the most basic of instructions.
Initially I thought I needed to
Turn on ipad
Turn on Launchpad
Press Setup button
Press Top Lefthand Green Button.
Load Loopy Pro
Nope Launchpad Pro keys remain unlit and a green bar appears at front of unit.
I also thought that when using Launchpad Pro with Launchpad app that I should
Turn on ipad
Turn on Launchpad
Press Setup Button
Press 5th from Top Lefthand Corner Button Orange.
Turn on Launchpad app.
Sometimes when I do the above everything works OK and sometimes nothing. Obviously as before I am doing something wrong. I know things are good when in AUM in midi connection there are 3 Launchpad Pro Midi Ports. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
I just plug my launchpad in and launch Loopy Pro. I don't find that I have to do any other setup. Which Launchpad Pro do you have?
Launchpad Pro as below
I've got a simple control template for live mixing in ableton. This template is configured to use IDAM midi host, which works fine except that if i disconnect IDAM and then reconnect, with Audio MIDI setup on the Mac, and then restart Loopy Pro, all the MIDI targets have changed to some random number/letter device, which does not exist. To get everything to work again I then have to go back and reconfigure every target for all widgets, which takes a long time given the number of widgets!
Is this a known issue or am I doing some thing silly? Is there a workaround?
