Its not working!
Indeed a very good method. I do have a question… Can you set up the “solo” action for clips on press but still keep the “record if empty”?. I tried chaining them on the “press” gesture. First solo and then play/stop with “record if empty”. But it does weird things, it plays for a master cycle and then stops. The chained commands are causing this.
Is it possible to swap auv3 synths in the mixer like in AUM?
I don't believe so (currently). I too wish you could replace an AUv3 lane instead of deleting the old one, inserting a new one.
+1 for this.
it would also be great to be able to add multiple midi AUs to a single track, as you can in AUM, and be able to route to and from them. This would avoid having lots of channels open just to handle midi routing.
Both work now. mahalo.
I've not tried it as a replacement for the default press in a project where i was recording. I usually use an unassigned swipe gesture to avoid such conflicts ...solo by its nature assumes the track exists.
Assume if the feature is there that it is supposed to work. If something isn't working, contact @michael to let him know
What is count out quantization? I set it to 2 bars, and I thought that would let me overdub for two bars, or something similar to ‘record tail’ for two bars. Does ‘record tail’ only play the tail at the end of a loop and not at the start of it?
Would you mind posting the manual/work in progress aswell?
The in-progress manual is available at https://loopypro.com/manual/. Check under section 3.2 for info on Count Out.
Btw, there is a link to the manual in Loopy Pro's Help menu
Not currently, but I think is planned.
The workaround I use is to create the new channel, then drag the FX from the old to the new.
You still have to redo any midi routings though.
Thanks a bunch for helping me! It is starting to make sense now. I will figure it more and more of it out in between looping sessions on Quantiloop.

How does the ‘record tail’ function work, does it only play the tail after it’s circled the clip once, not at the start?
Record Tail: "Record decay/effect tails to be blended into loop and played at the end."
So yes, it will not play until after the clip has circled once.
You might be looking for
Record Intro: "Record audio intro which will play before loop. Requires Count In."
Explained very well here: https://loopypro.com/manual/#intro-and-tail
Im catching up
I can't load saved presets when Loopy is in AUM as a auv3, is this normal?
More details are needed. Do you mean presets saved in some particular synth -- inside the synth? Or do you mean presets saved into AUM?
can you post some screenshots that show what you mean?
Loopy Pro should save and recall the state of an AU. If you save presets within Loopy Pro, they should be available.
If there are synths that aren't saving restoring state, please report the paritcular synths
Ohhh man the faders are soooo awesome. Wow @Michael well done 👍🏼👍🏼
Pickup mode definitely should work (it does for me, anyway). Might need more detail.
So here it is on standalone, I created a project named Template
but inside AUM nothing shows up, not even the sample project folder
Note that in stand-alone you have a folder named "Audio Unit Extension Folder." The LP AUv3 can only see the contents of that folder, which is why your other files and folders don’t appear there.
In the standalone you need to move the saved project into the "Audio Unit Extensions Folder". That's the only folder the AUv3 can see.
You mean projects. To make a standalone project visible in the Loopy AUv3, you need to move the project (in the standalone app's project manager) into the AUv3 folder. To bring up the project manager, tap the Folder icon in the upper left. In the lower-left, you will see the word projects. Tap there to see the projects. You will see a folder called Audio Unit Extension folder. It is not visible in Files only in the project manager (it is an iOS quirk out of Michael's control). Move your project into there.
Be aware. Audio Units cannot load other audio units. So only move projects from standalone to AU if they do not use Audio Units.
It’s the little things, right? Every time i see the extra affordance on the fader I smile and think “someone gets it”. Cheers @Michael
