Ok 5 mins in and as usual with Igor apps I like what I’m hearing but haven’t got a clue what’s going on!

I assume you run audio through it being a effect but it’s making noises on its own is that cause it’s picking up Mike noise got it in AUM effect slot. Tried running a piano app through it but didn’t seem to change the sound. 5 mins later making my £39 Sony MDR- XB550 sound Like THX running a Roland D50 samples loop through it.

  • Whenever Igor drops an app I have an altered version of that old Mitchell & Webb clip playing in my head: „are we the dummies?“

Maybe reading the manual will help. It's needed because the app doing a lot

  • This is the most psychedelic thing I’ve ever experienced. And I’ve been to Glastonbury on a purple ohm.

  • @sevenape ditto lol...
    If I wasn’t sold already , I am now!!!

  • Always RTFM with Igor’s apps.

  • It is in the store now. Leave it on autoplay for an instant ambient album

  • Feed it Continua on a pas setting using snakebud on long notes. Brilliant

  • Might have to wait on @Thesoundtestroom deep dive.

  • I’m intrigued by the possibilities this offers without the reverb. Cross-fading two loops with three independent playback heads set for Euclidean rhythms? There’s potentially infinite rhythmic potential here.

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Haven't bought it yet, but having just read the description and looked at the interface it looks relatively simple by his standards. I understand the concept and that's half the battle.

  • On my way!

Ah yes, but what if I told you the reverb can be any 15 second audio file... Such as, a dog barking, a piece of speech, a guitar chord...

It also has a chorus modeled on the Roland Dimension D built into the looper, and some LFOs. I think I'm going to have some fun with this thing.

  • Ohmmmmmmmmmm🙏🏼💕

  • Is it any easier or clearer to use than the super flexible Kajita (Icegear) ?

Hahahaha I just put some speaking on youtube through it and was whisked away into a black hole

  • Is there anything like Default settings or Init patch?
Would be easier to notice what is really happening in a more subtle way 😂

Apart from the "use for instant ambient!" idea, I don’t know why you’d compare them. Spacefields is centered around a pair of loopers with multiple playback heads, which is a very different architecture from Kajita’s multi-tap delay. Gauss might be a better comparison.

I was kinda being sarcastic to people complaining about UI... I need to censor myself a bit more on the interwebs.

Set Play2 Level, Play3 Level, and Reverb Mix to 0. That gives you a looper with one play head and no obscuring reverb, which ought to be a simple enough arrangement to start getting a handle on how the loop record/playback controls are configured. If you need it to be even simpler, set Loop Steps to 1, Play1 Pitch to 1, Play1 Feedback to 0, and Play1 Rate to the minimum value.

  • I’ve got no idea what’s really going on but I just made an ambient live set that went from burial ambient to weird 70s sci-fi, to gloopy straight to vhs horror soundtrack, just by switching out synths and 0laying random notes and chords.

It's funny but I was just thinking about how much I like Katija's UI. Don't get me wrong - it's a super complex effect, but the UI helped me understand/explore it.

Whereas Igor's stuff... I love the sounds, I love the ideas, but god knows I struggle to know what's going on in some of them (mad love to the guy who did the video tutorials).

Seconded. I also spent half an hour just playing with different synths using the same SpaceFields preset. Instant ambient album. Love it.

Right! Its really easy to get lost in!!

  • Can it take live input without needing to trigger loop start\end points via MIDI or whatever? I've had a look at the manual and I'm not much the wiser!!

I understand it records two loops and you can mix between them or soemthing ... can these loops be set to continually record from wherever as a live effect?

Yes. The only loop mode that requires user intervention to both start and end recording is Manual. Auto requires no intervention at all, and in fact the user has no control over recording start/stop in this mode at all except by regulating input signal to the effect.

(To clarify: there are two loops, but you’re not "mixing" between them, per se - the only time both loops are playing at once is while you’re transitioning from the current loop to a newly-recorded loop, which happens automatically when you stop recording.)

I was worried I was going to know what is going on when I use this but this confirms it: instabuy status achieved
