  • Also, since you are in Europe, you could have had a no-questions asked refund if you had tried in a timely manner.

You are in my opinion crossing a line when you say that other people should not have the right to use it.

I wouldn't worry about it - Apple are not going to pull the app from the store because one person thinks it isn't very good.

You’re right Brad, I did search and I watched a few, but it wasn’t really what i was looking for. They were all about 20-30 minutes, and they focused more on hip hop basic beats, general overviews of features, and a lot of them were rather old. I was looking for a newer/updated video with a more developed track, that maybe shows the audio features. (One reason I went with beatmaker 3 over nanostudio 2 was because it has audio input as well.) If anyone uses BeatMaker 3 and has anything newer than this or recommends a more advanced track, please link me. This is the video that was closest to what I was looking for

BeatMaker looks like it can act like a regular DAW here.^ So it makes me easier coming from Cubasis because I was confused at first a bit lol Im not used to the “MPC” layout/sampler, but reading this thread and the pros made me see people can really benefit from the sampler as I learned how useful it is in Drambo.

Let me know if you have more videos/makers that show what bm3 the tool can be! Vs the usual let’s make the same 808s every damn day. [im down with any genre]Haven’t tried to watch bm3 tutorials in a while cause they were crap/ there was one dude, still around, that was more like a toothpaste commercial, had to have his silly smile, let’s pause the app, big giant smile for the mirror on my smile, now back to the app, where you would think I have SOME experience, even a couple of hours of learning…nope, dude fumbles every single thing like he’s never opened the app in his life, but maybe he was famous for something else too, so ppl just follow? Idk

Maybe right when I make to the last page of the manual, they will release part 4, with an all new different manual lol

It’s funny because once the app disappears and is no longer available, people will want it more and miss it. Look at apps like Rebirth.. Honestly it blows it is poorly maintained, but what it still offers for the price, it still is dope.

This a dead apps that not deserve anymore to be in apps store , Apple should act about it as got the price newcomers loose their money buying it.

I can’t get my Money back and it is not a cheap app.

I warm all new buyers it is a not support seriously anymore buggy apps don’t buy it keep away from this app do t buy it you will waste your monney

I will go to put a bad review on the apps store to avoid anymore people loosing money buying apps that are dead. Not fair from this dev to keep it on the App Store

BeatMaker 3 is a massively great app, imo. It deserves to be in the App Store and can do some great things no other music app on iOS does as well. For some, it is still a useful and essential app.

What problems are you having with it?

Not serious dev nbugs at all stage I did just now a bad rating and sent a mail to Apple contact I got to state about this apps. I don’t like to be stolen of my monney by a dev that doesn’t care about its apps No refund possible.

It is my monney not your monney so I have the right to complain. It. As buggy when I bought it and it still buggy.

The notion that Apple should pull this app from the store because you don’t like the app seems a bit much.

No one stole your money. When you bought the app, you could have asked for a refund.

Refund it is a joke it is scarce to have a refund on the AppStore. This app should be anymore in the AppStore if the dev doesn’t care of it that all. I don’t want to argue with you it is my money. If you like to waste your money it is your right if you like that dev sell high price and doesn’t care it is your right.

I care about it that all. In Europe e have consumer law

I've never been refused a refund, on the occasions I've felt warranted one.

Perhaps i've missed it, but what bugs have you experienced? I'm no power-user, so maybe my case is abnormal. However, I don't remember having any issues with it. And it still seems like a power-house of an app, with an albeit (at first) confounding workflow.

    Seriously??

As several others mention here, Beatmaker 3 is still alive, because it works flawless and have not more bugs then comparable advanced app on Appstore…

We’ll see what’s happens with BM3 after iPadOS17 will be released - v17 will bring in much new things to the core and other parts of v17 (rumors)…

No, I am not a friend of the developer. Like many, I find BM3 a great and useful app.

Imo, it is very different to say “I don’t like this app and find it buggy” and “This app doesn’t deserve to be available.”

Fwiw, there are great apps that haven’t been updated in years.. that doesn’t mean hey are bad apps.

The last couple of updates made BM3 quite stable in my opinion.

  • Here’s the thing with BM3. It has the deepest sampling integration capabilities on iOS and the timestretch algorithms are up there with the best. That’s it. That’s why we keep using it. There’s people who have used MPCs for years who then use BM3 and say, ‘Goddamn! This thing is deeeep’. If you sample/resample and make music on the iPad then it is the best. Not iMPC, not Segments, not Chameleon, not Reslice, not Neon, not Egoist. BM3 just does more with samples. OK, Koala is very close and would be my first pick for an AUv3 sampler workflow, but they are more like father and son…

OK, Koala is very close and would be my first pick for an AUv3 sampler workflow, but they are more like father and son…

I think the problem with BM3 is it is such an incredible sampler but has so much DAW stuff going on that people (myself included) tried to use it like a timeline DAW, midi sequencer, Au host etc.

It was always pretty buggy in that scenario. The other problem was that even though you could get away with low buffer settings and not hear glitches/pops, they made it into the samples/audio recordings unless you increased the buffer.

    1 user(s) got it! 😄

  • Two years is a long time with no updates. I just checked out of curiosity. Does not inspire hope.

Yah I wonder if Apple has given them an update deadline yet.

  • @BerlinFx It's fine to get a refund on software that doesn't work for you, but it isn't really a good look to be trying to get said software removed from the appstore simply because you don't like it. I don't care for BM3 either despite having purchased it when it first released (especially since it had a lot of bugs to be ironed out back then), but to be honest I didn't bother asking for a refund either. I simply considered it a write-off on taxes. 🤪

But neither will I say "I will get it removed from the appstore" as there are other users here who love BM3. And one advantage BM3 has over NS2 is the fact BM3 has audio tracks . 😆 And BM3's sampler is still second to none on iOS (sorry Alchemy Sampler in Logic Pro, BM3 still has you whupped).

You are right sometimes because of my medical pill I am strange and over react. Sorry for that and I am sorry for all who use BM3.

Don’t worry for BM3 , Apple replied to my email telling me that BM3 is compliant and will stay in AppStore, the dev will receive a message to remember him that apps should be updated at least once a year (Apple doesn’t enforce that rule ) . I got a gift card. So everybody happy.

You might have single-handedly forced the next BM3 update! That’s awesome 😂😂😂

  • @BerlinFx i would recommend checking when an app was last updated before purchasing.

Like you, I tend to avoid apps that appear to have been abandoned. It’s only a matter of time before you find a problem that will never be fixed. There are plenty of amazing apps on iOS that have regular updates.

BM3 is a weird one though. I can’t remember what happened but I think the main developer left the project. It’s in the same graveyard as NS2 for me - a sad casualty of a less sustainable time for iOS music. Hopefully with Logic Pro bringing more users and better payment models like Loopy Pro around, we’ll see devs like this earning enough money and sticking around.

  • Not specific to BM3, but iOS in general: Not getting regular updates is absolutely not the same thing as abandoned.

Sometimes a product is simply finished and when it runs fine I see no reason as a dev to waste time updating it all the time (with what, exactly?).

Now I am wiser I look indeed to read about updates before buying apps. For personal reason LP ios was a great news for me (I wasn’t expecting that) as I can’t really use anymore LP on my Desktop (health problems). I prefer to subscribe to few but very good apps with regular updates and new content. This way I have a better budget control.

The market change I think guys will be more selective and would expect far more from apps to do as iOS music seems to go for pro standard.

There are also a market for apps that bring unique features this why I bought this month Hilda, Noise and Cascade. I will don’t buy anymore an apps just to support a dev as I have done in the past , support buy was this month Mela 4 but I will not have time to use it, after this one no more dev support buy.

Good point. If an app is stable then fine I suppose. On reflection I probably have hundreds of ‘finished’ apps that I use regularly without thinking about when they were last updated.

I think BM3 did address the ongoing bugs eventually, but I remember a long time of folks on here discussing its instabilities. It did feel pretty abandoned with no communication from the devs on their own forum for a very long time.
