    Same here!

Truly an app ahead of its time!

  • I guess there is a little truth in all these statements...
Mine is... at the time of purchase it came with a badly implemented but at least flexible MIDI... yes, it was ahead of its time, but an update quickly fixed that and soon it was reduced to a badly implemented and no longer flexible MIDI sequencer... also, the only person who ever bothered to officially respond - and at the time assured those original features will be back - left the company soon after...
    tldr: f*ck intua

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • The only thing we want is that Gilbert (Intua) could make an statement of the situation, like:

    1. Beatmaker 3 ain’t a dead product and we working on it still.
    2. Beatmaker 3 ain’t a dead product, but we searching for coder that can bring BM3 forward.
    3. Beatmaker 3 is ready as a product and we working on other thing’s nowadays.
    4. We working on to sell BM3 to another software company that can bring BM3 forward.
    5. We don’t care to communicate around BM3.

This is the most sense so far. A simple mission statement would be really good, because those are all really possible situations, and it could be any one or two of those reasons.

Was it/is it ahead of its time? Without question. Will it remain of its current time now that the world has caught up? That remains to be seen . (I think just getting multi core like the rest are getting updates would be enough)

The thread is Alive and going strong for a year with 8 pages so there must be some desire for users so I hope they release updates or news soon

Obviously it's 5 , there is no need to confirm this .
I wonder why users don't get it , I mean it was a great app with soooooo much potential , but it's been many years of radio silence , not months , the dev can't or doesn't care , hopefully no health issues
Best case scenario is compatibility with newer iOS updates (if it's an easy fix , only)

I can confirm that it works great with my M1 11in Ipad on IPad OS 16.5. I will wait a while to confirm that it works with 17 before updating. I may load the 17 beta on an older Ipad Mini to see if BM3 runs ok.

  • I think anyone who uses it is e titled to their opinion but

Mostly everyone agrees bm3 is pretty stable even on iOS 16 , so intua needs an update just to be current with iOS and because if ntrack and aem are multi thread BM3 should absolutely be

BM3 is just really outdated but not for lack of feature, it’s only not optimized for new processors but still people report it works without issues

    Just to give a real example;
You know what a dead app is? Auria pro

You know what a dead dev is? Wavemachine labs

You know what is dying if not presumably dead? IAA (Logic sort of co firms that)

Anyway we’ll see, I give them by Christmas, if they don’t update by then I will be the first to toll the bells , time tickin intua ! Lol

Earhoof.... now there's a dead app.

No wonder. Got buried along with its name…perhaps because of it 😂

  • Beatmaker in 16.5 isn’t loading as many plug ins properly…so it is in desperate need of a fix update.
I spent the whole of last night on my new iPad trying to give it a go….and I could only give it a hell no

Why put energy in an dead app like Beatmaker 3?

Yeah, it’s pretty fantastic, and, have use it a lot earlier, but, other app took over, and now there will be 100% Logic Pro…

Why? Because there are some things that BeatMaker is great at that nothing else does as well. As a sampler and beatmaker, BeatMaker is still top-notch.

Yep BM3 is still insanely powerful. I really hope it’s not abandoned. Vatanator Pro is great but somehow still glitchy after a dozen+ updates.

Honestly I don't think there will be much improvements coming to BM3 unless another company buys them out. Their entire line up probably makes less than 100 bucks a day (you can roughly estimate an app's revenue through its story ranking), and that's just not enough money to support the devs. The people who are experienced enough to make an amazing app like BM3 can easily find a job and make100-200k a year. Passion can only drive devs till a point eventually they would need to find ways to make a living.

Used it for a couple hours this morning and had some plugins not load right the first time but on the second try they loaded.

I assume most music app devs have day jobs.

  • @AudioGus most do, but very few are working on big daw projects like BM3.

I think there are even fewer now. The iOS hope and glory bubble has kind of burst I think when it comes to big scale projects. It is like Logic just came in to pick up the pieces after Apple made a mess of things, heh (Captain Hot Take strikes again!)

    YESSSSSSS lol

AND if it was dead we wouldn’t be talking about it still

Simon doesn’t get enough credit for these one liners man I’ll tell you haha

Let’s go over this again before I make a new “it’s a shame Auria pro is likely a decomposed app - confirmed”

And then I go into wavemachine labs selling out, Matt Werner left, no one there can update the mess that Auria pro is now, and all the little broken , crashing pieces that dead software apps like Auria pro or Inter app audio IAA [drummer] apps that are unstable and crash your DAW

Now AURIA PRO IS dead. It’s buried. It’s so beyond afterlife that anyone who buys it in the App Store since 2020 has been getting app scammed.

I just wish Berlinfx reported wavemachine labs along with intua for those gift cards so we could buy AEM. Sorry it’s a little late and I am just so confused with the thread. It works great up to 16.4; 16.5 and Logic ruined everyone’s lives with that update across all devices and internet and seeing what it was all for, someone said it best, apple came in only to pick up the pieces to what was looking like it was goin g to be the best year for auv3 and worst for DAW production, which really sucks since we need balance between our tools and our instruments (a topic I tried to start but everyone dismissed it as silly)

CB3 is still #1. But I will continue to use BM3; it’s still unrivaled despite no updates. Erika is probably right; but I also believe Hans when he says it’s still good to go since he’s a pro level user

    @intua_vincent i still believe!

Yeah there’s still nothing quite as good at BM3 at what it does. I haven’t tried iMPC2 but I know it also hosts AUs. Vatanator Pro is really good and I like the workflow but it’s still glitchy even though it’s had a lot of updates. Not nearly as bad as it was though. Even then, it can’t quite compare to BM3.

  • BM3 is still a bit of a powerhouse. To me it's a very easy place to work....unfortunately AuriaPro became a little bit of a mess after the last update.

We work with what we can and just get on with the explorations knowing that all of this is transient (desktop as well as iOS world).

First of all, no meaning to ping Vincent from Intua - he hasn’t been here on the forum since November 2018…

Second - whatever happening to Auria Pro in the future, we may celebrate Machine Wavelabs for their curage to build such an advanced DAW already 2012 to this platform…

In the IT business there are common (at least here in Sweden) that employed working both parttime or fulltime, freedom in the jobmarket for real…

Yes, we have part-time work here in the rest of the world too.

  • Migration has started to remove bm3 from the iPad. It’s just hogs so much space on the mini 6. Haven’t really created anything in bm3 for a while. I can get from koala what I need in bm3 and the logic quick sampler isn’t so bad either and I feel more relaxed in logic over bm3, just preference.

Bm3 is very stable for me so that’s not me complaining and I find no faults. Intua is very active posting users on instagram. Still powerful in its own right. I can say the same about beathawk very stable and great sound source for au. Love to see bm3 head in the direction if possible. Port the library and sampler into AU. I’ve bought all the sample packs in bm3 so I’ve invested in it. Sometimes a product is just finished.

Logic was always my hope on the ipad since creating my first beat on iOS GarageBand sitting in the desert on deployment in 2011. That kind of joy was awesome with what I was capable of doing then and seeing it now.

All these apps are is tools. Use what what you can and upgrade when comfortable. That’s how it is in the trade business. It’s the user not the tools but they do help.

  • edited June 2023

i think BM3 is here exactly same case like NS2 … they both would greatly benefit from more developement, which is most lilely never gona happen, but until they works, until Apple doesn’t break somerhing irreversibly, they both works perfectly for what they were designed.

App is Dead when you can’t run it anymore. Recently installed old Tabletop app on my iPad and it just works - perfectly useable for making music ! It was actually fun to use this another “dead” app 😂

Fact: No app is “Dead” until it runs. Stop being spoiled kid judging apps for number of updates. Use what is there now, make music now, cause tomorrow may never come.

  • Here we go….
Fine…I’ll use facts instead of “dead”.

NOTE***. Everyone here is old enough to know what is being implied by the “dead” statement, but we must wage a war of using precise terminology. This forum can be like being married to a mouthy person who likes to argue at times.

Beatmaker 3 is starting to fail more after 16.5(fact), and I have my doubts that the team wants to, or is able to keep fixing it…whether it is a skill thing? Or a money thing? I don’t know. I know that since one member of the team left…it has not moved forward since(fact).

Beatmaker3 was at one time, on its way to be the best Daw/sampler on iPad in history… then boom!
I even suggested at one time maybe they should cut it back and just leave the sampler, that was booed…

Maybe if they charged 5.00 a month and fixed the damn thing, it would be worth their time? Who knows?

    We all know it’s buggy…
And at 16.5 it chokes more than it was already choking…
When using Beatmaker 3 I instantly cringe at every additional 3rd party plug in, and I save more than on anything else I’ve EVER used…and I have still lost progress and projects…so yea…it’s the best! Pristine! Let’s build a trophy?! Let’s bake cookies!

Sorry I blemished your golden cow.
    Moo moo buckaroos
