Anybody used the copy/paste layer function already ? is it working for you in the way you have expected ? @Tones4Christ , ...

Yes, sorry - my “excellent thanks” was referring to the copy and paste but I realise i didn’t state that. Seems to work perfectly thanks!

  • I'm still trying to make some layers not sound out of tune when pasting them together. Lots of fun! But so little time. :D

  • Oh, forgot to mention been also trying to sample my favorite presets with AudioLayer tobsave CPU.

  • Thank you @VirSyn, those updates and new features are wonderful! Just discovered the split function and dark mode, love it! I agree with Samu, a button to set it to light/dark/system would be nice 👌

Forgive me if this has already been asked (it would take me a long time to go through all of these comments - and I could not find an effective search for the answer):

Is there a way to make the onscreen keyboard white keys/black keys? My eyes just cannot adjust to the all black keys with the thin blue line on it.

And for that matter, is it possible to have the option to remove the keys altogether (like when I plug my midi keyboard into the iPad)?

    Thanks,
    Dan

    Just bought TP and WOW!

But I don’t see any “Shop” under “Settings” to get the IAP. What am I missing?

Edit: My bad- it’s in the standalone.

  • Tera Pro really does have a quality sound to it, to my ear probably the best of any iOS synths I have (honorable mention goes to ID700, and Drambo can sound excellent). The only problem is it's a cpu hog (even with voice count limited to 32) on my iPad 5th gen on OS 13.3

I'm really a huge fan of this synth. Cpu heavy at times, yes, but as it is so rich, no need to add too much other stuff, at least if doing the kind of more minimalist music I gravitate towards. If I could only have one ios synth, this might be it

I agree with you on this. But coming from you it's a huge endorsement for TP. I'm going to be doing more testing of TP in standalone mode sequencing and modulating it with the OT. The program change implementation is fantastic with the last patch sounding until the last note ends or until voice count runs out in the newly loaded patch.

If your iPad has the cpu power, with four instances of TP I reckon you've pretty much got a Waldorf Iridium.

Yeah, basically re Iridium. Just needs a sample oscillator to be complete.

I'm no synth expert! This is just a personal preference 😂

    What is OT?

Oh octatrack I guess? Nice. I don't use any hardware apart from keyboards, forgive my ignorance!

  • I must be missing something- I can’t see how to use TP’s nice built-in keyboard when hosting it in AUM.

It’s just there in standalone, but I can’t see a way to use it (or even see it) in AUM.

Other than that, this is love at first byte. Sound quality reminds me of the u-he synths on desktop.

I've hardly used AUM of late, but isn't there some keyboard app similar to TP's?

Yep, KB-1 looks like it’ll do the trick. I just hate to think I’m missing anything.

I have suggested to @VirSyn that they might consider an option in the auv3 to either show or hide the keyboard

Sorry if this totally noob question has been asked and answered, but I’m having a devil of a time with this… how do you create a patch from scratch (or add/remove modules in a preset)? The manual seems to make no mention of this, and I can’t find a UI gesture that accomplishes it.

Edit: just by using the amp/filter input selects?

  • Yeah you have to think backwards. A module doesn't exist until you select it as an input to something else. > @garden said:

I noticed that Tera Pro is available for Mac M1, but is this a separate buy?
Or can I install without paying again?

I now payed 35,97 Euro in total for Tera Pro and would not like to pay this again ;-)

You can install Tera Pro without paying again on the Mac M1, it will say that you already bought it. Have fun!

  • @tja I just had the same situation, after getting the brilliant Brainz IAP I wanted to use in on Mac but saw it wanted me to pay again. I found a comment in this thread saying I wouldn’t be charged again and sure enough after clicking to “buy” on Mac I got a message saying this was a free upgrade as I had bought a previous version.

  • This synth is a joy

I’ve used the Mutable Instruments algorithms before in Spectrum, MiRack and Orac but none were as satisfying to manipulate and play with

I’ve been feeding it midi from SnakeBud and just tweaking away for hours, endless tones and textures

    Many thanks, @Pierre118 and @Deadbeet

It's really terrible how Apple handles this!
It shows the price, which is Ok, but after clicking it says that I will be charged!
So you need to "test" this by pressing "Buy"... and only THEN, it finally checks wether I bought this already 😅

I assume it's because macOS and iOS are separate platforms and each "App Store" is a different bit of software which remains unaware of the activities of each other until they check back with home base at Apple to confirm if a purchase was already made on the other platform.

That's pretty much it. However it only works this way if a new platform is added after you purchased the app. If you buy an app for the first time after the platform is added then all platforms recognize you bought it. But, if you buy it before a new platform is added, it sends you through this process.

The thing is, this should be trivial to change if they cared to. As you say, at some point there is a check back to your account where they recognize ownership. They could easily check sooner, but for some reason choose not to.

Like everything in a massive corporation, it’s a matter of committing resources. Unless something is actively damaging the company they probably don’t see a need to change or fix it.

    yep.
But you have to admit, the App Store is lame on so many levels. Dontcha?
    but, that's their choice.

If I sat down and wrote out everything I'd like to see fixed at Apple, it would fill a book. They're only human and what's more important is what they do when things go wrong and how do they fix things.
