No, modules.
does it make sense to buy tera pro on ipad 9 2021?
are those add ons only presets? > @KMTGN said:
sure
Yes.
Is this bug addressed already? In the wavetable module, when you open the LFO panel, the wavetable window floats on the wrong place hiding options beneath.
Still the same for me.
Wasn't aware of this. It's the same behaviour as in other modules, but in the Waves module it's disturbing. Will see what I can do here.
how wild the new FM7 can go?
or is it vanilla...
thnx
As far as I know, doing the same thing for all modulation panels in the wavetable module. The OSC module window is small enough to stay in its initial position. I will check all other modules.
Thanks on quick response, much appreciated!
Edit: Brainz module, beneath the second window if you open the modulation panel doing the same thing.
@VirSyn hi, i have two UI comments here:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/1188964/#Comment_1188964
any chance of these being implemented? would make this amazing synth more user-friendly
Depends on the patch. You don't create or directly modify patches on this one like you do in KQ Dixie or other FM synths. Instead there are macro controls over things like boosting or cutting the level of modulation of the carriers. For some patches these controls and dial in a lot of wildness. For some it has less influence.
Think of this as a DX7 patch player with some generalized control over the character, not as an FM synth, until if/when the underlying controls are exposed.
I was a little disappointed at first when I realized this, but I'm a lot happier with it than I expected. After all, this is pretty much what I do with KQ Dixie. Sometimes I cook up a patch from scratch but it's rare. Usually I'm loading up a patch and then spending an inordinate amount of time trying to tweak it. It takes a lot of work to get the results I'm looking for. With the FM7 IAP it's easy to work with just a couple of the controls to dial in the character I'm looking for ... or more often a character I like better than I thought I was looking for.
It's one of those things that you feel like is limiting, but then find simplifies things and opens up unexpected doors.
I'll still look forward to the option for deeper control though if it comes.
@VirSyn, is this a simple enough solution? Basically it’s the sub tab. It will be fine even without that green edge. It respects Tera Pro visual identity.
@Luxthor looks pretty nice I must admit! Have you tried the new version released an hour ago? This should work for you too. Please let me know!
Yeah, it’s better. More than enough. Thank you! 🤩
Love the synth. Just discovered a small bug, will try to replicate to confirm if it's not one of. When loading project with 2 Tera Pro synth in AUM, one will shoot over 100% cpu usage (136 to be exact) maxing out dsp. Reloading this one version of it again fixes the problem.
Is Tera ok in iPad Logic Pro? Sorry if I’ve missed any talk about it.
I can't recreate your bug, everything is fine here. 3 instances of Tera Pro 23% CPU usage when loaded. All complex patches.
M2, iOS 16.6 (AUM:Sample Rate 48k, Buffer Size:256)
I have Teraverse and really love the sound. Not really a from-scratch sound-designer, but was thikingof upgrading to Tera Pro for a bit more control over tweaking.
I do have a few questions, though:
Is there a 'Dark Mode'? I remember screenshots of a light version, but these latest IAP are darker. Is that only for the extra modules?
Does the full version have a different browsing experience. In Teraverse, there's no overview of the entire set of presets, in a form that can be searched. The 'Legacy' is split into type, but would be great to be able to sort all of them, by type.
Lastly...Is there preset-morphing in TP?
Thanks
Tera Pro works fine in LP4iOS, except for Logic's own problems, the most annoying one is the scaling of the AUv3 window. But, Logic Pro Automation + Tera Pro is a dream team.
Thanks @Luxthor! Bought!
Yes, there is ‘Dark Mode’. Browsing is ‘90s inspired. And you have a Stack/Split Layer with Arp+FX each. You still can use Traverse but this time with your own sounds. 🤩
Many thanks
Split patches would definitely be a huge plus for me, as is having access to the Arp. But the lack of a fully-functioning browser is still so disappointing. However, given it's possible to 'ZIP' and 'EXPORT' patches and banks (I assume that's the same in TP as in TV), it might be worth putting in the work to re-classify the patches by adding prefixes and then sorting them into new banks.
A proper browser, that has the option to exclude individual IAP, Legacy etc. from results would be a great start.
I did find a video with an older iteration of the synth. Seems this version has taken a backwards-leap in terms of browsing:
And great news about the darker GUI. Definitely another +1
How many iOS apps made by independent developers have a browsing system for patches that are sophisticated as you speak? For instance, a team of professionals from K-Devices cant even make basic saving / loading, haha. I think Tera Pro is gtg, no worries.
Oh, I get it Big frustration of mine.
On desktop, instruments such as Alchemy, Omnisphere and the u-he synths have had really robust, tagged browsers for long enough that I don't get why it's not now an expected standard. Yet even relatively recent synths have been released on iOS that aren't organised/searchable by type (Bass, pad etc.).
If synths were being released with a handful of sounds, with the expectation that everyone would make their own, then no problem. But some synths (Tera Pro included) have over a thousand sounds. Things start to get real unwieldy very quickly.
Of the iOS apps I own, I think kv331 are the closest to proper preset-management.
It's a shame that Virsyn took a step backwards in the preset-management department with this version.
Is more fun to get lost in creation with opened up fm options now
This does not seem like a justified complaint since VirSyn/Harry has used the same patch management system in all of his apps (as far as I know). If the he had been using one system and then made it less capable, then it would be a valid complaint.
I own a handful of Harry's apps, including Reslice, Audiolayer, Tap Delay and AudioReverb (Probably my fav 'straight' iOS 'verb) and Teraverse. And while it's true that Reslice and Audiolayer don't have a robust patch-organisation system, they only come with a tiny amount of presets. it's easy to set up a folder system to categorise these, then add to them with user-presets.
Teraverse and Tera Pro come with over 1200 presets, I believe. It really is a very different scenario.
And even if I hadn't already posted a video demonstrating that an earlier iteration of Tera Synth did indeed have a browser that organised presets by type, you only need look in the 'Legacy' folder in Teraverse (Also 'Tera Pro', I assume) to see that all those older folders (Bass, Pad etc. etc.) still exist and contain those older presets. However, everything outside of that folder is a bit of a mess in comparison.
@VirSyn Is there even a small remote possibility of adding 'ratchet'(ie. step-divide'n'repeat) and 'per step step duration in beat divisions' to the arpeggiator in Tera Pro?!
Help! No sound coming from TP when I open it in AUM and use the AUM keyboard or a sequencer. When I use the built-in TP keyboard then I get sound, but using then first two methods, diddly squat…
+1
