  • @ZenPunkHippy: Is there a way to create own templates via the desktop version?

  • There is no "official" way to create templates using the desktop version, but if you did put a desktop preset file in the right folder using e.g. DiskAid, it should be available to use as a template.

There are limitations on what the preset can do, though e.g. Source A should only contain a single sample, other sources won't be editable.

And/Or a possibility for more templates down the road?

  • For those who have bought numerous sound packs already, the all-sounds bundle doesn't really offer the best value. Will there be a way for long time users to also get their remaining packs at a nicer price? Thanks

  • We may add new templates based on user feedback, yes. It requires careful sound design to get right for the various types of files users will want to import - otherwise you end up with a bunch of random presets that might only work with specific sounds.

  • @SpookyZoo - we did think about that, but the problem is the enormous number of custom bundle combinations required to satisfy all users - which makes it impractical, unfortunately.

  • @ZenPunkHippy: Thank's... that will do it for now. So i could create patches on the desktop after my needs which are just using source A. I like to experiment ;)

    Thanks.

One issue with copy/pasting files into Alchemy using the General Pasteboard is that the general paste board renames the copied audio to "General Pasteboard.wav", so it's not possible to paste more then one audio file into alchemy ATM (unless you're using another method). Sugar Bytes had the same issue pasting files into Effectrix with the general pasteboard, I gave them the suggestion to simply add an increasing nr value to the name (general pasteboard 1, general pasteboard 2.wav and so on) for any subsequent pastes using the general pasteboard, which they added and it works just fine. A similar solution (or a renaming ability) in Alchemy would be great.

  • Do you have AudioCopy? iOS 7 only, I think, but it seems better than General Pasteboard because it allows naming of audio, and stores it per app so it's a bit more organised.

I'll find out about auto renaming from the GP.

On and off. The ACP 2 app just takes soo long to start when using paste inside an app. It starts up fast in stand alone though. The iOS General pasteboard is usually enough though (for my needs). Might reconsider when I need to move a lot of samples, multi samples etc. But going with the basic iOS standard when making an app, alongside any 3rd party solutions, is IMO a good idea, and is a function that won't break with updates etc.

  • I can't promise anything, but will see what we can do. Agree that AudioCopy is too slow to start up, it's kinda frustrating!

  • How does the all sounds bundle work? Do you get new sounds as they are released or is it just for what's available now?

  • @ZenPunkHippy Thanks, can't ask for more! :)

What I meant about things not breaking with updates though, is that if you do have a solid General Pasteboard foundation, with the naming issue fixed, in your app, you won't be bothered and pestered down the road when any 3rd party SDK/app that your app is relying on breaks in iOS 8 or iOS 9 etc. People can still fall back on the iOS GP.

    @synthhandson Yep, that's it.

Just what's available now. Each time they release a new bundle the price of the all sounds bundle goes up but if you already have them all you'd have to buy the new one for $5.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

  • @syrupcore - it's not a subscription, so you'd get the Mobile banks available "now" (or whenever you decided to purchase).

  • @ZenPunkHippy thanks for spending time answering questions here. It's appreciated.

Maybe a sale on all individual banks will entice 'collection completers'? ;)

  • @ZenPunkHippy Seconded. Good to hear from the horses's mouth etc. Worth your time I hope, not just for the 'market research' and hearing what committed users think/want, but also to support this forum which was the reason I (for example) 'got back into' Alchemy and subsequently bought the 'Full Pack' of sounds. Some of your best advocates/agents walk these halls.

  • Cheers @ZenPunkHippy and @yowza. That's what I figured.

  • I was using the free version of this app with some sideloaded patches from iFunbox. This was a great opportunity to go pro, and buy all the soundpacks.

It's still a fair amount of money, but it's very much a bargain for all the content you get. These sounds are very well designed, have 8 major variations (with infinite variation really), and they cover a lot of ground.

Is "Any Source" enabled on the MIDI In page of Alchemy MIDI options?

Bingo! Now it works ;-) I wasn't aware that synchronisation is NOT the job of the IAA implementation.

  • Does anyone know the normal price of the all sounds bundle

  • I looked at it recently but can't remember at the moment. Normally the All Sounds bundle is 38% off the full price of buying all 15 at full price of $5 each which puts it around $47 US.
At the current sale price of $37 it's close to 50% off $75. Hope that makes sense!

How large is the All Sounds Bundle once expanded on my iPad? Not sure I have room

    @ZenPunkHippy said:

The Pro Upgrade and both bundles are on sale until July 7th. Some of you may not see the reduced price yet because the app store takes a while to update.

Around 2 GB. See this thread.

  • And it takes a long time to download.

I believe the $47 US price is correct and the All Sounds Bundles are at a 20% discount. Only the Pro upgrade is 50% off. The wording is a little tricky...

"Pro Upgrade for 50% off, as well as savings on the All Sounds bundles"

"50% Off Pro Upgrade and Sale On All Sounds Bundles!"

"the Pro Upgrade is 50% off and you can also save on the All Sounds Bundles, which are priced at just 50% of the cost of purchasing the products individually"

  • Hmm anyone seeing a 'port unavailable' message when loaded into audiobus input slot? Only happened since upgrade, and despite reboots etc, it loads in slot but says port unavailable on audiobus input slot on top of alchemy logo.

Yes. It only happens once so far.

  • Yes I have to unload it from the slot and reload it to work

Same. Didn't even have to restart the app though.
