  • Yeah, I completed the set with their Soviet compressor cause I liked what it was doin in the demo.

  • It’s nice to see everyone discovering how good Red Rock is..take a look at their other plugins. You won’t be disappointed

That’s the thing with their demos, you discover and end up buying more stuff than was planned. Other developers should wake up and start doing demos as well, they will simply earn more if their stuff is worth it.

  • They are definitely punching wayyyy above their price point, esp compared to some of the more recent newcomers (GSi ahem)

  • Nice synth, sounds great. But what put me off buying so far is the overly wide cheeks which makes the gui quite small when scaled and the big store drop down which is too easy to trigger. Nearly bought something by accident, my thumb was on the touch id, only the final confirmation stopped it :)

Agreed, @RedRockSound do u think we could get rid6of the unnecessary side panels on the UI, that would be good

  • +1 for UI change. Or even a double tap zoom ( unless that’s even more aggro). It’s stopping me from buying at moment as a phone only person ( with old eyesight). Does sound good though

The wooden cheeks look great and add to the whole awesome aesthetic of it. Losing them would make no difference to the knobs apart from spread them out more horizontally, unless you want them stretched 🤷‍♂️

Edit: just tried in portrait mode on my phone, and admittedly it could lose a bit of cheekage there.

They could just enlarge the whole thing except for the useless cheeks and it would become both prettier and easier to use. So yeah I want them stretched, along with the rest of the synth unit UI..

Yeah I can see now. I was on my phone in landscape mode and the synth was already as tall as it could be with the cheeks. But I can see on iPad how there’s room for it to expand vertically as well as horizontally. My bad.

  • Beautiful synth, spent twenty minutes coaxing some Eat Static style sounds out of it and had to invest in the IAP for the synth and the separate filter. Looking forward to digging deeper!

  • This sounds really great. It really has a ton of character before I even add effects to it. The filter is kind of mind blowing too

  • I dunno,I think the wood panels really thickens up the sound, I would like extra thick side panel option lol

BTW, you can always put your iPad in a wood case

  • Watch this guy playing the haunting soundtrack of Doom on a real Polivoks..

Agreed. Only have 3-4 of their apps but they’re all excellent. Punches way above its weight.

  • @RedRockSound Any chance we will be seeing some obscure vintage delays and reverbs in the future? :)

Given the fact that all Western music equipment manufacturers have left Russia due to sanctions, leaving us with only obsolete Soviet music equipment, this makes sense. In fact, most of the Soviet musical equipment is rather mediocre and uninteresting.

  • By the way, I came across another excellent review from
    The Sound Test Room.

I understand. Let’s all hope for the best.

Btw, I don’t want to hijack this topic, but just bought your Passive EQ, and what a fantastic EQ it is! Even when set in default with just the analog buttons activated it does something with the sound. Turning the knobs will bring live, depth and space into the mix. For anyone who hasn’t tried the demo yet, try! https://apps.apple.com/nl/app/rrs-passive-eq-collection/id1584945520
(I will leave a review in the app store).

The analogue button adds saturation to the signal, we will add a saturator drive control in the next update so that you can adjust the saturation level. And also add the HLF-3C block so that the whole set is in one plugin.
