  • I think currently engine
not timestretch-er, only slow downing pitch speed of samples if required (tempo match function when hold on tempo via small menu - enable or disable).

Great sounds from this let down by a half finished app. Stability is pretty so so to say the least and this is on a M1 iPad.

Agree with this, working really really buggy on my iPad Pro 10.5

I’m loving the sound of this. The only thing holding me back is I’m extremely low on disk space and I’ll have to make room.
Couple of questions. Sorry if they’ve been answered already.

    • Does it hace timestreching?. Like Koala, where you can play loops from a pad in time with the bpm. I’m guessing it doesn’t, just to make sure.
    • Say you like one of the included midi files. Can you bounce/record them to a daw/sequencer to edit?. Ot maybe add a variation for a chorus, etc… What would be the process for this?.

    Cheers!

Open the Midi Files drop down, long press on the entry and choose ‘Export Midi file…’

@sharifkerbage try re-downloaded the app and done a clean install and it appears to be working better now. Download the content one part at a time. If it doesn’t crash hopefully your be fine.

I did have to try initially to get the downloadable content to download. Each time, a file would reach 100% and then I’d get some kind of error message. Eventually they all downloaded successfully - I think I needed a vpn if I remember correctly.

I actually realized that, I only downloaded samples at the first time, and after I downloaded all the content, it started to work better.

  • I would like to use these pads with a midi controller.... but IS THIS App MIDI VELOCITY SENSIBLE ?
Nothing much is said in the videos concerning the "Control section" dedicated to midi...
Any info would be helpful, Thanks

The app is great. The amount of kits overwhelming. The price very reasonable. But there will be always complainers and spoiled kids with nothing to do. Sorry for honesty.

  • I just got Splat to Clat, just cos the demos sounded so good. And it that aspect is definitely not a letdown. Sounds really really good!. That’s 98% of what I wanted, just a good simple to use library of drums.
Now, there’s a couple of things I don’t get. Are the Gospels devs reading this godly forum?.

    • Deocuple midi files from presets?. This is a big one. To me it makes no sense that if I load a preset I only have access to that midi. I might want to keep the sounds but try another beat. Or the other way around, I might like the beat but want to try it out with a different kit. It seems obvious to me, and I don’t think it’d be hard to implement. You can already export and load midi which is a lot harder to do. Basically I want the available loops here… The way it is doesn’t make sense to me.

    • another minor annoyance is that as you scroll through presets the machine stops playing. You have to close the preset window , hit play… I believe it should just load the new one and keep playing, you’re previewing and wanna keep going… Don’t you think?.

Btw since I’m low on space, I just deleted the “Factory Loops” and I believe I’m ok and not missing much. They’re just loops, right?. You’ll get those and more in the chops. Yes?

But as I said, this thing sounds really, really good, and that’s the key.

    I agree with all these.
Sounds fantastic and well worth the money if you want some very high quality beat loops but would benefit from your suggestions. I'll put a vid up later on how to set up multi out in this, as well as how to record those stems in aum and then load them into loopmix - which seems to have confused a lot of people regarding import of your own files. This won't be relevant to an old timer like you probably, but will definitely be useful for some.

  • I’ve been having nothing but luck with it so far. These kits sound great and I think I can finally stop obsessing on drum samples so much. This and the sample from mars samples have me more than covered. Awesome app

Was that a brief error because it looks like it’s $70 to me…

Oh, maybe you were talking about Pure Synth Platinum? That appears to be free.

    How to add subfolders with
    own samples?
I tried Import option, but it imports to pads 36 samples, only. I would like to have all my subcategorised samples like kicks, snares etc from iPad internal storage.

Somehow I got the desktop version for free…. I couldn’t believe it but it went through

Nvm… they took my license code away lol

    To answer myself:
Import folder option let us import 36 samples at once ON PADS, and then preset (36 pads are stored in presets) must be saved.
This allows to custom user name of preset, but
Imported samples are visible from load sound function from pad structured in folders named from date-hour of import like this:

And I didn’t find the option to rename this date-hour “name” into something more useful like “hihats bank 1”.
Even with all of shortenings, no
time stretch, still this is good sounding (by fxs) included content, great drum sampler machine for iPad.

    Edit:
There will be 100% updates, as this is initial version.
@GospelMusicians after import 36 samples and save into preset, quit the app, reopen app, I have blank start empty 36 pads, so far so good, then I hold pad to find my imported samples, and nope, they wanished…
But after loading from upper list my preset contain imported samples (it’s load normally), when I hold pad to see user samples, then they are again visible, yeah!
I hope you add also rename functionality to imported samples like here

  • I don’t seem to have anything in Factory Loops. I have tried reinstalling and redownloading, but don’t see anything. The other libraries are fine. 2021 10.2” iPad.

    Anyone else experiencing this?

That's user error I think - long press on one of the drum pads: in, for example, the default patch, press on where it says 'no sound'

Now you will be able to browse through factory loops etc

  • Once again thanks so much to all of the contributors to help with questions. There are a ton and we will try to address as many as possible below:
    1. Please note the filesize is about 754MB on Disck, so it's much lower than any of our other apps, so please consider trying as the file size is lower. You can also offload this onto an external device
    2. For any crashes please report here: https://gospelmusicians.com/pages/important-resources. What would really help is that you can replicate the crash and shoot a short video using the iPad's screen recording function to replicate it. So far our crash logs are very low for this one, so it surprises us that there is crashing.
    3. With complex apps, it sometimes takes a reboot to get everything working. We don't know why, but it does
    4. We have a future update coming with MIDI Out AND you can choose which MIDI channel each pad outputs on
    5. We have an update as well that is velocity sensitive depending on where you hit the pad. Lower on the pad is software and hither on the pad is louder. Touch sensitivity as far as a "hit" on the iPad is very difficult and couldn't pull this off.
    6. For Factory Loops - All of the loops are already chopped up and available in the Chops section. The loops are only full audio loops of what is already in the chops. We provided a template to show you Load Loop Example to express the fact that you can also load loops on a pad, but there are no NEW loops. All of the loops are chopped up already in the Factory Chops. We just needed a way to provide the loops to you just for users who just really love the loops. So nothing is missing, when you see it with only one preset.

  • We will stress as always, for technical issues and technical support, our support portal is the best place for technical support.

Velocity sensitivity is supported via midi controllers ?
Great products and amazing support !
    Thank you

Ah, OK. I was surprised to see nothing listed here. I’ll try that. Thanks.

  • How can I disable midi groove for any preset? When I try to live record a drum sequence, the midi groove is played on top of it and it's very hard to pay attention to what you're recording. I know I can just create a set of drums but I wonder about the built-in presets. Oh, and I tried Midi Note Mute - that didn't work so it's not that.

Bonus question: On Drambo, how can I live record using the app's pads? Right now I can only do it on Drambo's pads.

I also run into this and I believe it should be addressed ( @GospelMusicians ?).
There seems no intuitive way to disable the midi file associated to a preset. I found a clunky workaround.
Press the edit folder icon on the midi popup, that unloads the midi file. IMO It makes no UX sense. There should be a straightforward way like selecting “None”. I’d link this with my comment above about detaching the kit from the midi groove, the midi popup as is doesn’t make too much sense.

You can just tap the blank area below the MIDI file name to deselect it.

Thank you, that's a good way and it works.. BUT there must be a better way, like if we don't want to delete the midi files.
Edit: The midi file of the bank I tested it on came back, so that means you can deselect the midis and not lose them.
