Yes, and I think it would be good if that ranking system would list recently added feature requests separately. Otherwise there will always be a strong bias towards the ones already on top of the list because people just do not like scrolling.

oops, I just noticed that the posts can be listed with new posts first. It's just difficult to see (for me) that there is a dropdown to choose the sorting order.

  • put a disclaimer down the bottom of the page in asterisks and tiny tiny type saying “least voted-on features will be worked on first”, then only those in the know will know

  • Has anyone using this app found that it doesn’t quite work with audio fx plug-ins yet? In a simple test setup, I added Bleass delay. When I opened the effect to edit the delay time, it instantly forced the delay to its minimum, and I was unable to alter it further.

It’s worked with everything I’ve tried. Report the issue. It will get fixed.

Just tried this, with Bleass delay, no problem at all

Is modstep still a thing, compared to the others?

Maybe not for everyone, since it doesn't host AUv3
But I know there are musicians that still prefer to use it as a sequencer

I used it sometimes until 2021. Last year I offloaded it to make space and to focus on LK and Drambo

  • Wait. Maybe i'm wrong. I think it did get AUv3 support. Gonna do a quick reinstall now
But it's dead app, I would say... Even their site is not loading right

  • Modstep stopped being relevant a year after it came out. Was so frustrating to use and def worth the effort.

  • @tja
Actually... it does support Audio Units
    Totally forgot about that
I think it got on an update.
Just loaded Ruismaker on the first track.
But i'm not up to restart this relationship

    So, MIDI loops.

    We have:

    Drambo
    Zenbeats
    LK
    modstep

    and now
    SAND

Is modstep still a thing, compared to the others?

Asking because I never looked into MIDI loops of Drambo, Zenbeats or LK and did not yet buy SAND.

I did like how things work in Auxy...

I think you gotta include GarageBand on this list. Despite GBs many limitations, one thing it does well is its midi-looping - its extremely well implemented, versatile and powerful. And well worth the learning curve. It can be initially quite fun to start projects in GB, and then move over to Cubasis, when it gets closer to mixing (although, moving over is a total pain due to the absurd GB export limitations). Cos mixing in GB totally sucks...

  • After a few weeks of usage, I find this app really usable, inspiring and very good as a sketch tool. I think a song mode is absolutely a must have. I hope the dev will add this soon or later…preferably soon

This app has huge potential. Doesn't fit the way I like to work currently, but I hope the dev continues to update it.

  • The updates have seemed to have slowed down a bit on Sand hope the dev still has a vision.

Yep.... I genuinely feel it was launched a bit too early. I know there are a lot of devs who aim to release a minimum viable product, then maintain interest through updates, but I think that approach can be risky too, especially if there was not quite enough interest on initial release. Who knows though, sometimes apps are slow burners that get a dedicated following over time. The UI and overall vision is very good.

I wished it would import MIDI files and patterns. It would make so much more sense. It always are these very basic, fundamental things that often have been forgotten by mobile app releases, that drives me nuts.

On the other side I do not understand it, because MIDI file support is actually a core function of all Apple operating systems. There is not even the necessity to write this code by the devs themselves or use any 3rd-party frameworks or such.

Essentially basic productivity problems are a big issue with apples mobile devices, especially for creatives like musicians. And this is the case from the beginning of iOS. And unfortunately many devs do follow this lame paradigm. Mobile devices as stupidly autark ‘toy’ platforms.

The fact that it can't play midi in Auv3 apps loaded into it is a major bummer for me. Hence can't use those lovely midi-looped presets in things like Splat to Clat. Realising this was the point where I said - for my personal use case - I can't use this app til it gets that functionality.

The midi presets in Splat to clat works well for me when loaded in SAND

OK that's interesting, thanks. I thought I'd kept track of updates but missed this it seems, good to hear and will check later, cheers!
