@enkaytee which device? MagicDelay is consuming quite some RAM, but at least I'm able to run 3 instances on my iPhone 13
Gee, that's going to be popular....
Sounds odd, but it already is popular - just not so much in our music production space yet.
I mean Arcade seems to thrive and Native Instruments has Komplete Now to name a couple of examples. I’m mixed about music production subscriptions myself because I still have the option to buy one-time and in the case of Arcade, I prefer to do my own sound design - so I’m not a subscriber. I know most people would rather have new sounds fed to them monthly and Arcade thrives because of all those people.
Subscriptions that promise ease of use, value and continuous improvement will thrive which is why Netflix and Spotify have become necessities for many. If a music production software company emulates the same type experience, subscription success is possible although I feel like the price point has to be low - like less than $10 a month. Ironically Arcade and Native Instruments Sounds are $10 a month each, a fee most starving musicians with a job can afford.

Ironically, I have almost everything from these two companies except their subscriptions, which I'm not planning to go for any time soon, either. 🙂 I also buy a lot more second-hand licenses that I used to. But I may be an outlier, of course.
I agree with you about the subscription threshold. I started and stopped UVI for that reason; I can't justify 24/month. Especially when set against companies like kilohearts who do 10/month and then give you your subscription money back if you use it to buy a proper licence. That's subscription done well in my book.
Yeah, $10 doesn’t hurt so much 😂
It’s different if I am generating consistent income from music, but just a hobby for me 95% of the time.
Two instances and my ipad 11 pro explodes
iPad Pro 11" M1 chip (5th gen) - it's a latency issue in AUM
What buffer size and what else is running?
M2 iPad Pro 12.9 “ 128GB
It went to 25% initially then settled on 15%
Has anyone run it in a busy project? Not saying it’s not a hog, just screen shots I’ve seen have it by itself and not in a project which is usually best way to test. Had high numbers on other apps by themselves but when running with other stuff drops a lot..
Everything is on loan including our mortality.
Hapoy Holidays to you too! LOL
Great line, but a case can be made we are all existing on a subscription plan.....
A little update from our side:
Thanks! I have already mentioned to you guys that I get a consistently replicable bug in AUM on my 2018 ipad Pro, os 16.2, where the app crashes immediately upon pressing the S&H button. I also can't run two instances of the plugin without getting a 'too much latency' error message and both instances immediately crashing. Anyone else? If so, what host / device / os are you on? Thnx
Same issue with latency in AUM on an iPad Pro 11" M1 5th gen 256 GB iPadOS 16.2.
Yes, it seems to be especially problematic on iPad Pros (which is especially frustrating too of course)
2 instances on my Air 4 and mine also explodes with the “too much latency” prompt.
Edit: same thing happens with my iPhone 13
It’s any buffer size, with only the two instances of magic delay, nothing else. And BOOM! So right now, only can use a single instance however I slice it.
When I open a second instance in Drambo, the first instance crashes.
If I just browse presets with only a single version open and one synth, I get repeated crashes.
Aum , 1024, 48 … just two tracks with magic delay on each track … i tried with zeeon, segments, many apps …
Um. Has anyone else found that it just doesn’t do anything? For me it loads in AUM and provides a default delay, but none of the UI is active. No controls move or work. iPad Pro gen 2, iOS 15.
We've gotten some great feedback in the past few days and improvements are already underway as you can see in the screenshot. It might take us a couple of weeks to test and improve further what with the holidays and all + Apple review time to get it out but it is coming! In the mean time enjoy making unique Magic delays on one channel at a time 😉
Great!
I did wonder about this after seeing very CPU usage in AUM with certain patches in @Gavinski ’s tutorial video, on an iPad Pro 2018 I think.
Hey I missed this. I’m vibing the general consensus as “too pricy for me because it’s not instant gratification enough, but honestly is worth the effort if you have a modicum of patience.” That vibe detector sound about right?
20$ Is too much to invest for an incredible spectral sound design tool that normally costs nearly 80$ on desktop? Y’all are some cheapskates and don’t really want Logic on iOS
It doesn’t even take that much patience to find good stuff, so I’m in the “it’s worth it” camp.
Haha. There’s something to that accusation, but it’s competition and price discovery that ultimately determine what price range is acceptable in the iOS marketplace. Successful apps quickly breed cheaper knockoffs, which usually erodes high price points.
Yeah - and it's got 3 randomisation icons with undo and redo. It's seriously not rocket science either, my video explains it extemely clearly, great sound design tool and worth the intro price if you can afford it. Bit overpriced for the market at full price, that's just the current reality of iOS pricing for fx apps.
I’m mostly a preset surfer and tweaker, and yet I find a lot to love about this app. It’s really fun.
Constantly crashes when changing presets in AUM. iPhone 8+ iOS 16
