  • Thank you, Tony! I am both proud and humbled. I think our collaboration turned out pretty damn fine, my friend.
My personal favorite track for 2022 would be Olivia's Song.
It was inspired by my wonderful, 7 year old niece.

The ONLY track I made in 2022, so it's automatically the best I guess 😂 (I'm reasonably happy with it though)

This is my cup of tea , coffee and a slap up meal ! Love it 🥰🥰🥰

@jankun transformed this piano improv. I think he did the job…

Good work all! Even better next year, right?

  • Mine was probably this one. I really ought to finish a lot more tracks this year. New year resolution.
Id also like to do some collaborations, I’m bored of myself 😃

Not my favourite thing I've created in 2022

But still a nice melody created by Riffler

"And finally, ladies and gentlemen, the winner of this year's It Should Have Become a Track award is..."

  • another wow, this @LinearLineman & @JanKun thing Metropolis is just incredible, world class top notch stuff, absolutely mindblowing

@tahiche's also's got a lot of character and charm, reminds me that I finally need to learn how to use one of these loopers

  • Cheers @Paulieworld , yours is a great track, amazing what a martini or three can do ! I’m stuck in a car with three nieces and nephews for about 4 hours over the next two days… not sure I’ll come out of it inspired 🤔
Metropolis is a beautiful piece @LinearLineman and @JanKun, just love the rhythms. It just stands out as a great piece of music irrespective of how it was created 🙏
Thanks for the posts @tahiche and @dasgoods , don’t think I’ve heard them before and both great tracks. Really shows the variety of techniques and results on the forum 😊

Absolutely love this track! @SevenSystems … can’t beat a bit of Psytrance. Very slick production indeed.

  • Fave full length song I released in 2022 (under my TLNGO alias):

Fave instrumental I released in 2022 (under my actual name):

  • This is my favourite creation for the year.

Created during a time of personal stress - I found a moment of calm and serenity for myself.

  • @Mountain_Hamlet lovely piece. Feels like different organisms interacting . Love the sounds.

@SevenSystems the production on this is superb!. Balanced, energetic and just very “pro”. It even sounds great with the iPad speakers.

  • Umm, I never post any music. But here is a shameless laid back, lofi, boom-bap thing I did recently.

  • This one is from my 2022 album, Predetermined. I crammed a lot of styles into 5 minutes and I'm pleased with the result:

Love it! Really funky and interesting. The horn playing is superb (I'm assuming it's SWAM or similar?)

Love the vibe in this track, and the laid-back vocal as well.

What do you think has been your ‘best’ creation of 2022?
Post it here if you want to create the ultimate collection of 2022 hits🪩

After a quick re listen to some of mine (it’s amazing how quickly I forget them) I think this is my best overall, actually a collaboration with @Paulieworld and I’m certainly not suggesting it’s his best by any stretch 😊 but it’s one that I was perfectly happy with the tune, playing etc.

What a pretty piece. And that change at 1:36 is a stunner. I can hear this as a full-band piece, á la Pat Metheny Group. Not a criticism of what's there, at all

Mine was this one, without any doubt :)

This is a great song, with the potential to be really stunning. I feel the mix is a bit too veiled, hiding a lot of detail and losing the kind of punch and dynamics that could really allow it to soar. Doubt I could do a great job of the mix. But If I could write songs this good, I'd consider paying a professional to mix them.

    Eager to hear more :)

    Without a doubt...

The best Ambient piece I ever made this year, and once I still listen to repeatedly.

A rather ominous slice, here, with intriguing sound-design elements. Really enjoyed it :)

This is fantastic! Solid and fluid movement through styles and feels (Really enjoyed the proggy moments). Held my interest throughout. Great job, man!

Thanks! Much appreciated. I hear your comments on the mix, I think it's partly down to the denseness of the instruments (effected guitars etc) and the reverb. The final version of the track on Spotify/Bandcamp was professionally mastered by @Tarekith who cleaned up some of the low-mid muddiness:

That definitely helps quite a bit, but I still feel the same. I think this might come down to a stylistic preference

Skimming through some of the other tracks, they seem to have a similar aesthetic. There's definitely a darker, denser 'Jesus and Mary Chain' guitar/vocal-led sound...and that's all good. I guess as it started building, I was expecting it to really open up in the mix, to follow the song.

Anyway, please take these comments in the spirit-intended. Will definitely listen to more, soon.

Hard to work this one out. There are some moments in here where everything slots together and I can feel a real stomping track, but then it seems to drift again (I'm guessing, intentionally) and I lose the thread. The different elements do sound good, for the most part.

Lovely track! Felt that David Sylvian would start singing at any moment, which is about as good a compliment as i can give :)
