Here are a couple of quick video demos i did last night of iSymphonic sounds and fx. It is pretty good for strings/ensembles but no individual instruments. No Audiobus but IAA audio worked fine and I was able to do 10 note chords without glitches on my ipad2. I did get a promo code, if not i probably would have waited out for a sale
Also worked fine with a Midi file imported to BM2 and fed in to iSymphonic. Did not test with multiple midi channels and multiple sounds yet, may have to bounce tracks to DAW on older devices I am thinking
It has its own thread, but I'll stick it here too

What's the verdict on this app now after several months of use? I'm particularly interested in how/if it can handle differences between short and long midi notes. Can it adjust to a slow and fast-attack for each within one preset?
Update out, adding 14 new presets on top of the 10 existing ones (amongst other things). And 19 more sounds available via IAP. I'm sooooo tempted now. But this and Korg's new stuff...eww gotta watch that bank card (Edit: anyone know what the download size was before the update?)
Anyway sounds marked as new are new in today's update...
24 Sounds included with base App:
19 additional Sounds available as optional in-app purchase:

That looks nice. Seems really that the sample libraries start to roll out now on iOS too. Maybe no need for a Kontakt iOS version in the future. So, who will buy that all and make a great demo? ; ) @ChrisG ?
Edit: And yet again, no demo?....... They should learn more about marketing and how catch new customers. I get that not in my head why so many iOS apps are without proper demos, tutorials etc. For the update it was about 665mb indeed.
I agree @Cinebient . Sound demos goes without saying, especially when you sell at these higher price tags (by AppStore standards). Anyway, I think you should buy the whole thing and make us some great demos. :):)
@ChrisG: Sorry, i just bought Sample Tank 3 for my Mac (and looking for Zebra2 next). I just buy one app a month now and these are well choosen Your turn
@TrueYorky What's the pricing on the IAP?

Well surprisingly enough I haven't bought any music stuff the latest month or so. Only a photo editor app. So it is about time to buy something , I'm just worried the Korg stuff will show any day now, and if I get this I really need to hold onto the cash for a few weeks...1st world problems
Lol.... a photo app was also my only iOS app in the last few weeks
whoa. I was tempted to buy this a while back but held off due to the lack of brass and woodwinds... now here they all are.
How much is it now with all in app purchases? No info at all in the app store.
Still not seeing any solo instruments :-/
It's $21.99, choose one of the new instruments from the list, it will come up grayed out, and double-tap the middle of the screen. That brings up the purchase prompt.
@Cinebient since you are purchasing plug-ins for the Mac, have you tried the synful.com orchestral trial download? I have written them to consider porting it over to the iPad, but they have not responded yet. I also have written to pianoteq; and they have thought of the idea of porting over to the iPad; but no committments yet. Both these plug-ins are fantastic on the Mac (I have Pianoteq Stage running on my Mac); but they would be great to have running on the iPad.
@CalCutta: Thank's...... a bit too expensive this whole thing.
@bsantoro: Pianoteq is great. I never heard about synful yet. Have to check it out.
I only have 61 bucks on my iTunes Store credit (yes, I've removed my bank card from it...I...had to). So can't buy the whole thing and do sound demos. I'm a absolute app completion-ist, can't only buy half the thing. So who's next up?
If I get time later I'll try out new included sounds
@ChrisG well, here's the strange thing, I did the update and feel I was gifted all of the new sounds cos' I now have about 43 in total and I like them a lot.
Rly? Well, congrats! Lol
Can someone buy the app just to take a looksy at how many sounds u get? It's just fiddy bux c'mon
@Trueyorky are you having any issues with update. On iOS7 I am having issue when switching between sounds in that it is sometimes visually changing to a newly selected sound but keeps playing the prior sound. Have emailed developer
The new sounds are nice by the way and there are some (almost) solo instruments (duet ones)
OK, it looks like all sounds are showing but if you look carefully the main background image on some sounds is slightly grey and those ones don't sound which must require the IAP. Still plenty more included as standard though than at first release.
Almost solo.... Hmmmm. Is that like mostly harmless? ;-)
Or pregnant?
This app - and this thread - raises an interesting question. Do we want ios to compete with the likes of Kontakt and its collection of incredible 3rd party sample libraries in terms of realism? Because, honestly, it's never going to happen, is it? Which is fine, they're different beasts. Where I think the ipad excels is with apps that give us intuitive ways to manipulate sound using the touchscreen. Could a dev give us an app that would allow us to play string sounds in a more realistic way? If I could play samples within a DAW or live, adding realtime articulation control via an ipad....maybe even bowing for strings (think garageband strings on steroids). Now that would be interesting. Combine a breath controller for wood winds and brass (and synths). Hmm. Devs?
Well, Korg is on the same page with their upcoming larger high quality Module. The Ivory expansion alone is 2GB. So obviously there's a market for this already. And as tablets/phones gets higher specs, the more of this we're gonna see. What's wrong with having a EWQL symphonic orchestra Kontakt library in ur pocket?
( I get the whole touchscreen/new ways to create music thing, but we have that as well in various forms right now, and will hopefully see lots more cool things done with all this down the road..)
I think a year or three down the line ipads will be handling some bigger orchestral libraries. Like @iansainsbury said there is a huge potential for using touch surface for more realistic articulation. It would be amazing if this could be used to control orchestral sound libraries. I suppose you could now if you link a Lemur template up to Albion Spitfire etc.
Disagree that ipad will not get there. Apps like ifretless brass, iSymphonic and upcoming Korg one are proof there is reason to be optimistic
