Haha that is so much , that would be overwhelming to me because I’d feel pressure to play through every single one and I already have enough trouble trying to make use of all my synths and instruments. . That one already came with 500 which was already excess for me ! These days I like to spend time designing my own from scratch though but in the past I really learned a lot from getting certain preset packs with intention and was able to start from preset snd work my way backwards to scratch to learn how to do deeper and more complicated types of
sound design.
Oh and .those all in packs always covered future packs for within the year after purchased. So over time the cost raised from if you paid 30 for existing and a year of packs , because it eventually became like over 20 packs at $4.99 each so supposedly the $149.99 was over 60 percent off than getting all existing packs individually. The sm3 one if it does e same approach will likely start out lower like sm2 expansion when it first came out since you’re investing also into the continuation of the app and future packs.
Chordbud is one of my favs. It’s so quick and easy to lay some chords down and start a track.
Score Creator Pro is $6 off at $38.99

@shirbeats thanks so much for the help, just one quick thing, if you’re reposting a quote and the picture isn’t necessary it can save space and scrolling time to just delete the picture link so it doesn’t keep coming up in responses. No biggie just thought I’d mention it.
A "rule" many tend to not give a shit about, sometimes you have to scroll through the same loooong image several times in a row, kind of annoying (just a little bit
)
Lol, Yea that’s why i wanted to throw it out there. It’s ok once in awhile but when a particular quote with a big image gets quoted a lot it really adds up. For those who don’t know it’s super easy to just edit the quoted comment and cut the image link out of it. Again not a major deal, just a suggestion.
Moogerfooger Bundle is out - 8 Moog FX apps at 50% off if purchasing the bundle.
Just edited and removed .
What a fantastic deal from Moog! That looks like a barrel of fun...for $40!
By the way, I happened to notice that Best Buy (US) seems to be offering a $10 gift card with a $100 iTunes Gift Card purchase. Haven't seen that announced anywhere but does look like I missed a similar deal at Target ending last week.
How does ChordBud compare to other similar apps like tonality, progressions, Scaler 2, etc?
So hyped for that Moog bundle. Don’t have the extra money this week for more than 1 of them but I’m definitely grabbing it on pay day next week. Can anyone that’s purchased one confirm that you do indeed get a discount with the bundle?
How do I access the IAP?
bless their SmashCut souls
Well it’s similar in what it does but different in how you get there. It’s super simple, but with enough variety to be quick and useful. it’s a stripped down chord sequencer. While I love, have, and use all the apps you mentioned, this is perfect app for being quick and easy.
Sometimes I build out chord out progressions more thoroughly, or play them in, but sometimes I Just wanna lay down a couple nice progression patterns at 4 or 8 or 16 bars each that work well together, quickly as a foundation of the track. then I build a song with it and around it with the other bud apps or any of the cool midi fx apps that will receive the midi chords and create something unique from the foundational chord progression.
Thanks! It would be nice to have something a bit more simplistic for a quicker workflow. Might grab this one up while it’s still on sale.
I’ll tell you in a few minutes… I own v1 and v2 is downloading.
OK. It’s yet another 150 standards chord progressions (similar to iReal Book but without explicitily labeling the original jazz standard. The major improvement over iReal Pro is that the results sound like live studio musicians playing the chords like a Jazz Quartet. Free output is a stereo mix and there are per song upgrades to provide individual stems usable in a DAW. Each tune upgrade is $1 and all 150 can be grouped into a bundle for $49.
Tap on the watermark, and it'll open up the screen where you can pay to take the watermark off.
(It's not as obvious as I thought it would be, apparently!)
Yea I highly recommend it, especially for the reasons I mentioned above. It has a lot of scales, you can manually adjust the chord blocks to most sizes, have multiple patterns, inversions, maybe 40 maybe 50+ chord types, etc…on sale it’s a steal…
In CB As a general rule it’s best to keep progressions to 16bars, you can go higher, but it gets tricky manipulating the chords boxes over that many bars, but 16 is plenty especially with multiple patterns. It’s not meant to be a 128 bar whole song in one pattern, it works best when creating single or multiple parts, with one progression in each pattern. obviously it automatically loops the pattern you are on, so yea, great for that type of approach. I use it a lot for those very reasons.
Id definitely get it, particularly on sale, and particularly if you like to start a session with chords, more often than not, like I do. This allows you to quickly build your song foundation. It’s also perfectly capable of creating complex chord types and progressions. Sometimes I just want some good sounding chords quickly set up and go from there.
Not to keep harping on it but chordbud and Rhythmbud really work well together, if you don’t have Rhythmbud, arpbud2 does as well, also on sale…
that is interesting and good to know, ireal pro got me excited that it was going to be a hybrid of aebersold playalongs and the real book, only to find the stuff sounded autodrawn in musescore, i just don't want to listen to any of them and certainly not playalong, that would just kill any love i had for any of those songs.
interesting the not using the names of the standards as such, although it looks like they say "in the style of" such and such a song, probably a way to get around copyright, the progression is a contrafact and not protected but the melody and sheet music thereof is another matter
Yes @HotStrange the Moogerfooger bundle came to me for $40.00 or $5.00 per app.
Best bargain I’ve gotten in a while.🙂

Thanks! I did end up buying (a lot of the time the Bud sales don’t last long) but haven’t had a chance to try it yet. Gonna do that tonight probably.
@HotStrange right on, I’m Sure you will enjoy it, it’s not some amazing workstation like scaler 2, but it’s not trying to be. It’s great for those times when you wanna get something going quickly.
