And non-musical apps have always been part of these threads, but Poppa isn’t posting just anything, he’s discerning for what is of interest to our community and what we do. Don’t see a lot of objectionable stuff by others though either imo
Neu: OK, I'll stipulate that there's not a lot of room for complaining. Do you see me as doing a lot of complaining, rather than offering a suggestion for a better user experience? Better not poke around this site much, pal, the audiob.us forum is full of such "complaints." I thought you was a regular in these parts, tho

I don’t think you’re getting it. He’s not an employee of this site, he voluntarily does what he does. If you don’t care for his thread, find another.
Think it’s more so in how your wording came across. Also don’t get what you mean about saying you feel tricked? There’s almost always a description and you can clearly see the name of the app.
He does it for free. Just scroll past the ones that aren't of interest
In any case, a music app offers only thread tends to have a significant amount of discussion about offers, or asking for recommendations or comparisons as well, so there's always going to be scrolling to get to the offers, and that's fine.
Not to be Captain Pedantic-pants, but it’d be more accurate to say Poppa does this for optional donations.
What he said. Lol.
honestly I wanted two threads myself. I tried to do two threads a year ago (probably still in the forum) and it was just too much work. So Basically it went to this one it’s a curation of apps but not with super strict guidelines. the way I see it is that musicians need music apps, sure, but there’s also all kinds of adjacent apps that come in handy for various reasons. Some of us are generally creative or create using various artistic mediums. But on top of that there are various tools a musicians /forum members might find useful, Whether that’s a note app, or a productivity app, utilities, photos or graphics for your logos, album covers, sharing patches, uploading tracks, social profiles, making flyers, etc…
So the music stuff is definitely the first priority, then the rest is basically if I think someone in here might like it or find it useful in some way. I’m also way more inclined to share something if it goes free. Lol.
I do weed out some 1 star reviews, if the apps look bad, or poorly done, but some get through. I actually download almost every free one, whether I keep it or not is another story… lol. I can understand wanting a more streamlined thread, heck I do too, but two was to many to handle, and ultimately I liked/I think people liked the current format with music apps, but some others & the ability to have a brief discussion if necessary.
True. I appreciate the support.
@GUB It’s all good. No offense at all. I think it was 2022 when I tried 2 separate sales thread, the music sales only thread only lasted a month or two. It was just too much work. I get where you’re coming from, but ultimately this one kind of unofficially won out. I like to leave room for some brief discussions and throw in some apps that look to be useful to others in the forum.
On a side note I only started sharing the calculators cause someone had asked about them, then I couldn’t stop seeing calculator sales, lol, and if I did share a calorie counter that was my bad, and I apologize, lol. Most non music ones are apps that have gone free, and who doesn’t love a freebie.
New App
Wub App - little Groovebox is a sampler and sequencer. It was $7.99 but is now free with a $7.99 IAP labeled Standard, not sure if subscription or unlock.
Thanks for the response, Pop, the only one that matters at the end of the day. i know you don't get paid, and I appreciate what you do. The peeps bringing the payment thing up, I assume they don't ever complain about a free app, right? or chastise anyone who does? LOL.
I will say this, I never thought that paying a few bucks to a developer bought me the right to criticize them where I otherwise wouldn't, or bought me the right to remark on their work. I find that attitude insulting, but I'm not as iPaddy as a lot of my fellow commenters here.
New App on Intro Pricing
Beatter is 50% off at $4.99 - Sequencer, but no connectivity mentioned in description.
I'm getting it. I'm getting that you think that paying a developer two or three dollars gives rise to a profound change in the relationship you two have with respect to candor and communication. Is that it? It's about the pocket change?
I'm getting that you are complaining about against something I never said or suggested, that I don't like this thread.
I'm getting more than you, and more regularly, friend hehe. That said, you can have the last word here, I'm done. I prefer a music-focused thread to be music-focused, if that outrageous opinion chaps anyone's ass, I'll live with it.
@GUB
Right on. I wasn’t offended.
i also appreciate the support.
I mean I will say that I believe purchasing a product, item, or service allows you to form your own opinions on that particular thing, it’s only natural, but what you do with those opinions is another thing entirely. the choice to share it, where it’s shared, to whom it’s shared with, and how the opinion is communicated, are all decisions that can create a fine line between constructive criticism and negativity. This especially holds true when the communication is relinquished to text, which, at least in my experience creates a decent amount of miscommunications, misunderstandings, misperceptions… I don’t know where I’m going with this… lol. Bottom line it’s all good, now back to your regularly scheduled programming, lol.
Music History
EP Music is $2 off at $2.99 - Stories and quiz about Elvis Presley
I downloaded to try and see because why not? Lol will report back. Thanks for all you do Poppa 🙏
FWIW I like getting both audio and non-audio in one thread, occasionally I find something really useful, and the rest of the time I scroll right by. And saves me looking in two places which I probably wouldn't bother to do.
Agreed. There’s been some cool calculator, video, picture, etc apps. I’ve found through this thread.
So the free version has 4 tracks, effects, fills, parts, etc but it only comes with some drum samples. The IAP is for sample upload, sample record, unlimited tracks, and something to sync to Phillips Hue lights for light shows. Seems like a pretty cool little app with some potential. Or maybe I’m too much of a sucker for a groovebox. Either way, I like it.
Yea I had a play with it too, only the free version, but to me it was just ok. Could be something with development, might be to early to tell.

Great catch!
Just got this email from Ultimate Guitar - The Deal is good across all platforms, app, desktop, website.
Thanks Pop, This is a great find!
For sure. If the developer keeps on it, it could be really great eventually. The simplistic interface works in its favor I think. Making it an AU would go a long way.
I think it is "free with ads".
