Thank you for clarifying the IAPs

New Free app
Metronome Plus
This is a heck of a deal. The developer also got rid of the the 7 day free trial. You can now use the app with out the free trial or subscription, but some features are locked.
To be clear, it seems they’ve dropped the Loopy Pro model - upgrade after one year to continue to receive updates - and gone to a one off purchase in app.
Beatsurfing 2 is one of those apps I never use but that is totally on me. It's a great app for anyone who likes the general premise and a steal for this price.
This is soooo good news!
Just bought beatsurfing 2 not having any idea how it works 😂 I’ve loaded it into GarageBand but can’t record anything. I know it’s my lack of experience so could one of you seasoned vets tell me what I need to do?
Completely agree. It’s not the most stable app in the world however. It’s not unusable but does crash every so often. The app itself is really really good though. And so much fun. You’re basically creating a touch based groovebox from scratch and having that as an AUv3 is even cooler.
Woot!
Thanks. I remember before the new app/upgrsde most of the audio editing was free but I guess it was changed.
In that case, I wonder what the free app version does? Looks like just file storage in that case.
Wow... an IAA app in the 30 to 40 dollar range and no anti-IAA fury in the comments? Whatever it is, that thing must cook, clean, and fucking whatever else you need to command that price, and be regarded as a bargain. I am curious, YOLO
I bought the IAP some years back as they always said AUv3 is “not yet”, but it’s still not implemented years later. Not the best sounding amp models either.
Very disappointed in this. Also disappointed that it doesn’t cook and clean.
I had a free version that I deleted at one point, in part bc it was IAA, and I never used it anyway.
For me, IAA instruments if they're great (Shoom), they're totally worth it, and I'll buy one still. But an effect better have something really special going on, like Moebius Lab, if it's gonna be IAAning on me. I don't remember doing more than trying Bias FX more than a time or two, but it clearly has a fanbase so probably also is possessed of a splash of magic I was too dim to detect... hot food and clean floor outs would make this the perfect tone enhancer, I bet.
No use for IAA for me and will never buy anything without AU compatibility
Thanks for sharing your story, we need more folks to open up like this. Who are you again?
Maze rider and Bass Leveler is USD$0.99 now.
Auto levelling tool according to description.
Does beatsurfing 2 require account registration in order to unlock the AUv3 etc.? i almost impulse bought the IAP. Thanks to some pesky account registration window and the incinvenience associated therewith, I may have narrowly avoided a deadly gas attack.
Edit: ah, no it doesn’t require account. But my gas is already gone. So whew
Not sure if that’s sarcasm or what (I legit have a hard time reading people at times ) , but I’m just someone who makes music and posts here .
I said what I said because I’ve seen people elsewhere complaining about IAA being deprecated and I’ve never quite understood why, nor do I
get why some companies still support IAA but not AU (Korg being a prime example)
Maze Rider Auto Leveler
AND
Bass Leveler
Are both $3 off at $.99 each
More for the Positive Grid Sale!
XDrummer is $1 off down to $2.99
JamUp Pro is $2 off at $5.99
Piano eTutor Pro is $20 off at $29.99
Bias Amp 2 IAP Sale
Bias FX 2 IAP Sale

One big benefit for using IAA is a full screen app. Being windowed in AUM is not nearly as good as a full screen, especially on a smaller device. Am I the only one who feels this way?

@Fear2stop You comment is pretty standard on the forum. Too many AUv3 options in all categories to buy an IAA app.
My only except has been the LumBeats drummers since I typical export MIDI or audio Loops out of them.
@GUB’s reaction seems off base since I’ve read comments like yours dozens of times. Maybe NOT buying this particular app
or encouraging others not too made this reaction. Sometimes members root for the developer and don’t like negative comments of any type.
This brings up funny bundle moment that will illustrate how weird sales and bundles can be:
I own Maze Rider and because I got it when it was free, the bundle for both apps together is $9.99 for me. I suppose I could pay the $10 to support the dev, but $0.99 for Bass Leveler seems like the best choice between the two. .
There are definitely people here who know a lot about this, I don't, but I think IAA apps are easier to code than AUv3 and AUv3 can he very hard to code for first timers in particular as apparently a lot of things are not well documented. A lot of devs might feel that it's not worth their while to make an auv3 when they already have an iaa version of an app out. There's a huge addiction to novelty in the iOS scene so there is a big chance that people who own the iaa may not ever end up buying it as an auv3 if they have already lost the habit of using it or have got newer apps that do similar things that they're currently enamoured with.
I personally don't mind that much certain apps being just iaa if they're novel enough. Not having state saving is a bit of a pain for me (though you can get around that by using Audiobus) but not being able to use multiple instances doesn't bother me too much for many apps. There's also an argument that now, with many people preferring auv3, by buying iaa you are actually perhaps buying something more niche and therefore more valuable. If they are not being developed and can only be used on old devices, they become even more exclusive 😝
These are great apps. Especially at that price.
