Is Bleass Delay any good? What are the alternatives for iOS?
To bad there is no NI Replika?

Yea I’ve been looking for that as well. NI Replika XT is my favorite ever delay.

FYI, BLEASS has mac/win demos of all their products on their website.

If someone who owns both Cascade and Blackhole could say if Cascade's sound is close enough in transparency to that of Blackhole's to merit getting the former over the latter, I will be able to sleep tonight. XD

I have both and I use them both everyday. Cascade is more customizable and playing with the reflection shape can easily get you into Blackhole territory, and at some settings I can get Blackhole’s reversed Gravity out of it. So if I had to pick one I would pick Cascade for the fact it can be tamer or wilder than Blackhole, and can be as realistic or otherworldly as you want. That said, I still use both, I find Blackhole to be faster to dial and get that ethereal reverb, so I use it a lot for quick jamming.

    Really good assessment, thank you!!
Gonna go with Cascade's versatility and cheaper price and then Blackhole maybe next time (if only for that gosh-dang useful ribbon).

I love it. It does pitch shifting, had a Hp and LP filter, as well as an LFO for the delay, pitch, and filters. Very versatile.

+1 for Cascade, I too have both but never use Blackhole, always go for Cascade.

  • Does anyone happen to know if the AudioLayer Soundfont IAP is included in the Harry Gohs sale or what the original price was?

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have pitch shifting, but it has a good frequency shift with its own LFO.

Yea I’ve been looking for that as well. NI Replika XT is my favorite ever delay.

Bleass Delay are nothing special except for the live transform pad to modulate the sound, it can't be automated or recorded which is a shame as it's really original (well, as far as I know).

LoAdKer is free for a limited time.

I thought it was still free from a little while back but I could be wrong.

I thought it was too but The Beat Community reckons it is normally $3. Who knows...

Jumping on Mela 4. Perhaps the last synth I'll ever need.*

    *lol

It’s fantastic! Probably my favorite synth on iOS.

Hey @HotStrange - am curious about Mela 4, and now would obviously be a good time to get it. Is it a deep learning curve? And , strange as this may sound, will I be able to coax non-synth sounding sounds out of it? The sounds at 7:00 mins into this video leave me absolutely cold. Really not interested in these squelchy squelchy synth sounds

I wouldn’t say the learning curve is as deep as MiRack or Drambo, but it’s also not a pick up and go kinda app. There are lots of presets and the manual is concise and well written. The dev also has a number of demos on IG and YouTube. So I think it would be pretty easy to wrap your head around.

And it’s capable of all manner of sounds. It can do lush pads, squelch, leads, percussive stuff and FX, etc. very versatile synth. And it’s amazing as a midi and audio effect.

  • Cool, thanks for your input @HotStrange . Might be finally time for me to upgrade to os 16!....

Ref the e-instruments Pure Piano sale. I just bundled up my Pure Piano with Pure Piano Upright for the princely sum of £1.00. I love it when plugin developers don't mangle their bundle offers during seasonal sales. Getting Pure Piano Upright for such a miniscule sum will leave me with the warm fuzzies with regard to e-instruments for quite some time.

And by the way, Pure Piano Upright sounds and plays great. Not quite as good as the desktop version of Mrs Mills (the Abbey Road Studios upright used on various Beatles recordings), but definitely a cut above average.

I’m still on the fence for this one. Which one do you like best: piano, or upright?

The original Pure Piano is ultimately the more versatile of the two. Much as I love the tonal qualities of a decent upright piano sample library, it's far more of a Marmite instrument choice. Having said that, the thing that makes them both wonderful is the rich variety of timbres that can easily be dialled in via their unique UI/UX interaction design. And for this reason, I find Pure Piano Upright more flexible than most other upright piano sample libraries. But if I could only have one, it would be the original (Pure Piano).

+1 for that assessment. Both have sounds the other doesn't have, but Cascade more versatile overall. Blackhole probably has the edge in creating vast spaces that go on for ever but Cascade not far behind on that front.

I know that you are just shill Native Instruments, ;) but I took the time to check for a good multi-tap delay on the iPhone for everyone interested. Replika XT is an under-the-hood multi-tap delay.

    • Yukawa - a very popular and praised multi-tap delay on iOS. Simply the powerhouse.
    • Chow Matrix - maybe the best multi-tap delay of them all. People are scared of the UI, those who love it keep it as a secret tool.
    • UltraTap - I love this one from Eventide. Guitarist-oriented but usable for anything else without any drawback.
    • Kajita - superb two stage multi-tap delay and reverb. Very complex usage of spatial effects. You can filter reverb early reflections body and the tail separately. Taps are time-modifiable, like those in Timeless 3.
    • Tap Delay - VirSyn. It is fantastic, and it is easy to set up a multi-tap delay.
    • Kosmonaut - only 4 taps, tape, haas fx, and more. BramBos jewel.
    • TTap - K-Devices, not quite multi-tap delay but has it in the name, haha. But we can randomize repeats with good control and syncing.

Everything from this list works on the iPhone, I have them all and use them regularly.

I think i go for this cause it has tape delay vibes too. But not sure if it can do the Wormhole type sound.

  • Hmmm which version of magic death eye should one pick?

WOW! ChowMatrix is absolutely insane! Where’s it been hiding! I’m in love with it 😍 Thanks man much appreciated. I’ve been looking at Ultratap as well but for now l I’ll get to know ChowMatrix better 👍👍
