    Productivity/Writing

    Whirlpost is free usually $4.99

This seems like a nice journal app, but for those who don’t know, the incoming iOS 17.2 update will add an Apple app called Journal, which might cover most the functionality of this app.

    https://appleinsider.com/inside/ios-17/tips/how-to-use-the-new-journal-in-ios-172-and-where-it-needs-work

Like all initial apps, it will need some work, but I think it will eventually be very useful for those who want to journal.

Frankly, that just angers me considering how much money I spent previously on those Synthmaster apps.

Sorry for the kerfuffle I caused earlier with my post. I was directing that post at our known small pocket of fellow Autistic and Neurodivergent musicians like @HotStrange and @Fear2Stop who might appreciate the nice distraction.

I sometimes forget how public a post can be. Apologies.

And to add some relevance…a reminder that the 30% discount on Scaler 2 is still available ($12.99) until December 13th:

    https://apps.apple.com/us/app/scaler-2/id1603180235

It’s much harder to keep track of which IAP discounts are still running.

    Don’t forget our friend @jwmmakerofmusic!

No need to apologize at all my dude! It wasn’t you or even the app itself for me. More so the “lingo” and phrasing of “an autistic persons dream”. Seeing an actual disorder being used to sell a product just makes me feel some kind of way. Not necessarily bad but not good either lol

Scaler 2 is excellent btw. Probably my favorite of all of those kinds of apps! (Sorry I haven’t messaged you back btw, been checking this page during brief work breaks but haven’t had time to properly sit down and reply long form)

Same here… it felt like the app description was a bit mocking; at the very least it was in poor taste and traded on a stereotype. Definitely wasn’t your post …that was fine!

Glad I wasn’t the only one that got that feeling. I’ve noticed (especially on tiktok) people think it’s “cool” to have autism so they pretend like they have it. Not everyone obviously but it’s definitely becoming a trend. And I think apps like this kinda buy into it.

  • Does anyone happen to know if the GSDSP Bundle is currently discounted from its regular price? Or is it just the individual apps that are currently on sale?

  • @HotStrange @Fear2Stop Im always concerned about offending people here lol ok.

Also, pretending to have a disability seems silly to me, but gate keeping Autism also feels silly to me. I was a special education teacher for 8 years with a specialization in ASD, so I have literally tons of things to say on all this, but I won’t and I’m just glad I didn’t rub anyone the wrong way with my careless comment.

Also @HotStrange no worries, bud. I figured you’ve been busy. I know that quickly checking the forum and posting small replies is one thing, but conversational messages take a lot more time and effort. Anyway, no problem at all

I think TikTok is causing mental illness among kids. Seriously. I don't know how it hasn't been banned in every country at this point.

Really bad 'one trick pony'. At least, skip the unlock: not worth it.

  • @Pxlhg if you skip unlock, how often can one prompt it?

  • Blue piano LE is free usually $3.99 - use your device as a Bluetooth keyboard

Dunno, I did do the mistake of unlocking it after just trying one.

  • Chord is free usually $1.99 - a bunch of music tools and info

  • Nembrini sale over.. I was just about to snag something

  • Last year Nembrini did a Christmas sale after doing a Black Friday sale so I’d wait and see what happens at the end of the month.

Yeah I follow a couple of cool accounts but those could very well work just as easily on YouTube.

There’s definitely an argument to be made about its effects on the minds of the younger generations. It’s really not good. Even what it’s done to the attention spans is horrible. And the constant need for something stimulating.

I just bought BeatHawk “Classical percussion” IAP and highly recommend it. The quality and quantity of samples are great for less than 3€$. Taikos alone with a good reverb add a stunning cinematic flavor to any jam.

I did the same and have no regrets. I find it mesmerizing and fun—stayed up a couple of hours past my bedtime with it. I also have a specific use case for the results, though. Just offering a different view on it!

I HIGHLY recommend LaPlace. When I first heard of it I thought it was going to be of limited use, but it is WAY more versatile than I initially realized . I posted an album a few days ago in the creations section here , and the track “Cacophony” used LaPlace pretty heavily (especially for the “mandolin” type sound and some of the percussion), in case you’re on the fence and want to hear what it’s capable of
