Counterpoint, Zenbeats is a DAW and much nicer than Cubasis

If you are fan and create very good music with I don’t care. Just give a link to what you create using only Zenbeat.

I use Cubasis 3,5 on iOS and pertfectly happy.

You can’t really make a comparison between Zen Beat and a Daw like Cubasis , more relevant to compare Cubasis to Auria Pro , Audio Évolution mobile perhaps Ntrack I have tested 2 weeks each of those.

If I dont put on the comparison NS2 is that it miss Audio. And I miss GB because of all its limitations too even I don’t use it with Logic Pro on my Desktop. But I must say that GB as free app is really underrated. It help a lot poor musicians to go to iOS music with old cheap IPad.

Zenbeats can host AUv3 instruments and effects, including MIDI effects. It has both a clip launcher UI and a timeline UI. Honestly it's the closest thing to the Logic Pro workflow currently available on iPad (until next week of course). It absolutely qualifies as a DAW, and is absolutely comparable to Cubasis. It goes way beyond the capabilities of Korg Gadget. Yes, the built in sound packs are pretty focused on Roland sounds, but again, you have the whole world of AUv3 instruments and effects at your disposal in Zenbeats.

For my part, I think it's very likely that I won't bother with Zenbeats any more once Logic Pro drops, and sure, Cubasis has some important advantages. But Zenbeats is a DAW.

I don't know what Logic Pro will change (or not) in the way I'm having fun making music on the iPad, but I've recently discovered the drum sequencer in Zenbeats and it really deserves a more than positive mention B)

I’m also gonna say ZenBeats is 100% a great DAW, not a walled garden like Gadget (albeit a beautiful garden), best DAW for handling loops that I’ve used on iOS with a huge advantage being able to transfer projects to other platforms and continue work there. Roland bought it from Stagelight and continued development and while having Roland’s library behind it is a great perk as is some hardware integration, it’s certainly not just for Roland fans and is more fun than Cubasis IMO. I use Ableton more on desktop but created this in ZenBeats on iOS using many stems exported from Endlesss:

  • Yea I have heard people talk well about Zenbeats, never “really” tried it though.

The constellations toolkit and sounds from outer space are both nice. Factory content probably with it. Unlock synth engine is very user as well.

Zenbeats is a DAW ? I didn’t know Roland made one. Is it good? Does it do AU? MIDI automation recording? Multi core? Just curious as I had no idea

Not a daw as traditional Daw it is dedicated to Roland fans. You can’t do what you can do with a real Daw.
    Korg Gadget.

Zenbeat and Korg gadget are à waste of money to my opinion, à Blackhole and never you will have what can be said as a Daw. It for Korg fans.

Avoid Korg gadget and zen beat you will save a lot of money.

Same NS2 is not for me a useful Daw as it have no Audio track only a midi daw very limited. But not expensive even if you buy some IAP.

2023 is a big change year so wait a bit to save money only for top useful apps and Daw.

My experience is that don’t follow the opinion on GAS guy that are very excited to every apps , recommand it , buy it and make other buy not useful apps. They are apps collectors that never use them.

The same for some YouTube channel where guy say always this apps you need to buy it now . Explain a nit what it do but don’t do systematic Pro and cons on their YouTube channel. I would like more critical Jew pro and cons from this guys including @Gavinski or Doug channel.

This is the opinion of a guy who had bad experience in iOS music buying more bad even outdated apps than good apps. I can keep now. 10 great apps only fron the 110 apps I bought. At the moment only one Daw that fit my needs and is the nearest of a pro Daw : Cubasis 3,5. You got too many synths you need to choose only some or you will be collectors of synth.

I will don’t anymore want to buy an apps that not have a free period to evaluate it including synth, any effects ….. and other.

I include that I bought many daws just to choose one as each daw have fans.

So wait to open your wallet , particularly with Logic Pro you can try for free

Some guys here will tell me that I am a difficult guys , I don’t care I will drop names of all the very bad apps and outdated that I bought . A forum is not to say all is good.

I gotta disagree with you on a lot of this. Zenbeats is a lot closer to C3 than it is Gadget. For all intents and purposes it is as much an iOS DAW as any of the other ones. And Gadget is 100% NOT a waste of money. Just because you don’t like it or get good use out of it, doesn’t mean it’s a waste or it’s a bad app. You’re just saying it’s a terrible app instead of saying “I don’t personally like it but maybe you would”. That’s not very constructive. I get that you’re trying to potentially save someone from buying an app they don’t like but the phrasing and suggesting they steer clear is not any better because you may be dissuading someone from buying an app they would really like and enjoy.

Also be a collector of synths is not a bad thing. I buy a lot of apps because I like having a lot of tools in my disposal and I enjoy trying new apps. I did the same thing with hardware when I was really into hardware. There’s nothing wrong with that as you seem to indicate here. And it most definitely doesn’t mean we don’t use them. I use all of the apps I have. And most people I know that “collect” do the same thing. Doesn’t make sense to tell someone “only chose a couple of synths otherwise you’ll just be a collector”. I’m sorry but that’s just not true.

Now I will do wiser comments on apps by respect to members as the most important is the joy you get of this hobby.

I still got my opinion but I keep it . You are right about Zenbeat as I got more information from actual users.

I am in the way more to ask specific questions rather than state my own opinion that is not important

By all means share your opinion. That’s the point of a forum! I just think there are better ways you could go about it as it seems to be ruffling some feathers right now. I’ve found myself agreeing with you more often than not, but at times it can come across as you’re just presenting facts, not opinion, which can be harmful in itself.

Not to derail the sales thread further I’ll just leave it at that. No offense intended to you, just wanted state how I felt about it. Hope my wording was okay. I think I came across as angrier than I was. I’m not mad at all, but I wanted to point that out as I’ve seen a few comments about it. Hope that won’t dissuade you from sharing your opinion at all. We’re all valuable members here! 🤝
