Seems to have a price associated with it for me on Mac appstore, even although I own it on iPad? Anyone else seen this? Installed Nambu and Kronecker without issue yesterday as well?
I believe you don’t get charged if you already own it. Give me a second and I’ll go through it on my Mac and double check for you.
Hmm weird. I just searched in the Mac store and it’s sitting there with the cloud download icon for me to download. No price attached to it.
Lorentz is my favourite. I love modulating the resonator controls. And the drive sounds great too. Really nice for gnarly sounds.
I had the same thing, but I bravely white knuckled it and it came up with the old ‘this upgrade is free’ or whatever malarkey, once I’d fingerprinted my approval of the ‘purchase’
This. I did the same with all of his synths available on the Mac. No issues. Poor dev also keeps tweeting this to his followers, I guess he probably gets some rude questions because of this bloody bug that Apple just can’t be arsed to correct. They just don’t care.
That isn’t what is happening. The desktop App Store and the mobile (iOS/iPadOS) App Store are not the same system. They are separate and for reasons not entirely obvious to us they do not communicate prior purchases to each other until the time of sale.
I have to say I'm now much more motivated to spend time with the iceWorks plugins I've already purchased, and it makes me much more likely to purchase more. I think I'm kind of done buying AUv3s for iPad if they don't have a corresponding Mac version (unless it's something super compelling of course). Looks like I only have Nambu and Lagrange so far, so there's lots to explore!

You just described a problem that Apple has. It shouldn’t be a problem for users and developers.
As a software developer myself I think it’s perfectly fine to call this a bug. No need to be an Apple apologist - they have a history of ignoring broken things for years.
I'm not entirely sure it is a bug. And it probably has more to do with accounting and reporting requirements than software.

Easily some of my favourite synths on iPad and now being able to use them on desktop means easier porting of projects. Keen to see how they move across in a Logic project.
With Nambu it is seamless. You can save a project on iPad with a custom Nambu preset and it opens fine on Mac and even knows the preset name. Makes it easy to port presets; just hit save and you’re done.
Great news! These amazing synths, the Moog synths and Logic… so wonderful to have cross-device compatibility. Now if we can just get UVI to port Falcon to iPad
☝️
Yeah, the three synths I have work perfectly on my Mac, so will pick up Nambu and Lagrange too at some point.
So, it appears just downloading LaGrange when the price was showing does indeed say it's free when you go through the process. Apple really should sort this one out. Thanks to all on here for the advice :-)
I think from memory it can even happen when you activate a new iPhone or iPad and go to install stuff you’ve bought from the App Store, nothing to do with mobile vs desktop stores…
Yes it has happened to me on when installing Apps purchased on the iPad on my iPhone, predated any iOS purchases I have installed on my Mac.
Bitwig summer sale - up to $100 off, including upgrades. Ends 31st July.
Nice. 😊
I just upgraded from Ableton Live 11 Intro to Suite for £269.50, a great deal. I'll stick with BitWig 8 track for now, and upgrade later in the year, maybe Black Friday. I'd love to have the Grid in BitWig, and a few other bits, for sound design, and also like to use one (Live 11 Suite) for creating, and one for mastering.
I haven't seen the Ableton 50% off deal here (just did a search). If anyone has missed it, check this out — If you have Ableton Live Lite, free with your Novation or Focusrite product, then you can upgrade from Lite to Suite for a massive 50% off until the end of the month, or whilst stocks last.
You buy via Focusrite, then they send you an Ableton code to get your software at Ableton.com.
Details at https://focusrite.com/en/news/exclusive-offer-get-massive-50-ableton-live-11-suite
As long as the developer has identified their iOS/iPadOS app as compatible with Apple M1 Silicon computers, it’s possible to download the app to desktop. It is not a 100% guarantee it actually works with GarageBand or Logic Pro.
I thought like this sub conversation was about the fact that when you have already bought an app, Apple often makes you go through the minor ordeal of thinking you might have to pay for it again… correct me if I’m wrong though 😅
If I’m off topic, I apologize. I’m barely awake at the moment… need more coffee.
Heh, been there 🤘
Unfortunately this is a very limited offer and only applies to a small number of Novation / Focusrite products and even then only those registered after September last year - originally discussed here: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/55655/ableton-live-lite-suite-50-discount. In any case I've moved away from Live and now use Reaper as my main DAW - cheap, regularly updated and incredibly light on resources - though Bitwig is very tempting with version 5 coming imminently.
The current imaginando sale is pretty cool. I picked up FRMS, DRC, VS and the VS expansion for 40 bucks altogether. You gave to buy something for 9 bucks or more (in my case the VS expansion). Then you get a coupon to save 90% on your next order.
That’s a great deal.
Be very careful if you buy direct from Bitwig - if you choose a currency other than euros or dollars you probably won't get the discount.
I'm asking the monkey paw for Arturia V Collection on iPad. But, I'm not holding my breath. Heck, I'd settle for just Pigments
I'll take Pigments as well. Done!
