What are you listening to? Is it good? 2.0
I couldn't find the new version of this topic, so I hope I'm not being presumptuous by starting another one. Old topic:

To start it off:
I've been listening to a lot of Sweet though only a collection of hits, and the Polydor era albums before they broke up.
I love their early rocky stuff. I also can see now why the latter albums did not do as well with their core audience. They're not bad, but they sound very different-- and not only because the lead singer is gone, but the arrangements too. Their new label apparently wasn't interested in promoting the band (according to interviews I've seen), so they also failed find a new audience with these. Too bad, because they were really talented.
I'm listening to "A" by Andy Scott's Sweet. It's much more of my jam than the Polydor albums because it's more hard rock in the style I like:
If I'd known about this album back in the 90s after grunge took over, I think I would have had a much better time with rock music. Very expensive to buy this album now, though, which sucks for me, haha.
Comments
I usually wouldn't listen to this type of music, but maybe the movie associated with it had an effect on my appreciation of it:

New jam by two greats tame Impala and Thundercat
Latir song E1 - EP out tomorrow
Vince Guaraldi. Ever since early 2022, I can't get enough of his immaculate piano stylings.
I feel 1:00-1:40 of this song—Focalistic's voice?—sounds like Kendrick Lamar's voice. (And vice versa, maybe.)

For all the crusty dub heads out there!

Turn it up!
Grateful Dead live shows
One of my favorite Bands since the 2010’s or so Unknown Mortal Orchestra did a sick NPR Tiny Desk Concert Recently. It’s brilliant.
One of two recent albums by Hether, this one is all covers, but some very interesting choices that work well in his lofi style. A few standouts would be Sad Song by The Velvet Underground and My Funny Valentine a song recorded by many artists, including Sinatra. Track List in description.

New Peter Gabriel album coming (called "I/O"), one song at a time! And he sounds absolutely great, by the way.
Here's another magnificent number from Peter Gabriel's new album. Still one of the most unique voices in music.
The new album by Queens. Very good. This from it:
The Waitresses, "Square Pegs"
I remember hearing Ffunny Ffriends for the first time when it came out years ago and was instantly hooked. Tried to get all my friends into them, but it didn’t really work. A few years later multi-love comes out, they kinda blow up, and then they all started to listen 😂 those first 2 albums are magical. I love the others as well but the first 2 had a super LoFi charm that stuck with me because it was also very emotive and earnest.
Is it good?
No.
It is wretched. An abomination.
However, you can decide for yourself:
Rebel rebel your face is a mess, rebel rebel…
I thought it was a cover with that intro.
Unfortunately, it is a ham-handed attempt to sample a classic guitar part and graft it onto a generic brocountry (I suppose that is actually redundant) song.
If Mr Bowie were in a grave, I suspect there would be quite a bit of rolling over going on.
I'm listening to the 1973 BBC Radiophonic Workshop's production of The Foundation.
Based on Isaac Asimov's Foundation trilogy (Foundation, Foundation and Empire, and Second Foundation), this eight-part series is much truer to the books than the current Apple TV series.

The Complete Sun Session by Carl Perkins. Hugely important in the birth of rock and roll, but doesn’t really get the credit he deserves.
Latir new EP Daydreams & Desires is brilliant
Here’s a single track I love, but the whole EP is amazing. Barely any view or likes too…crazy.
Latir - Crazy Colours
Agreed. I did something similar, lol. I love multi love. I love how he has evolved.
Great combo! Wasn't a big fan of the solo Thundercat album I heard, but what a bass player!
