As mentioned above, the pricing structure was not clear, but this thread somewhat clarified it, thanks.
I listened to a few MP3s on Modartt website, sounds really good!
I will certainly check out the demos, both iOS and desktop.
On my old iPhone XS : reaching 220 notes of polyphony with CPU around 50-60% and not a single crackle. Impressive…
I'm glad it's so expensive. Now I don't have to evaluate whether to stick with the JAX pianos I have or switch. I don't have the ear to tell which is better anyway.
You’ll be back 😉
It clearly takes advantage of the multi core rendering.
oops. wrong thread.
Yep. Got it installed on both iPhone and iPad with purchases restored.
I think you'll want to get clarification on that from Modarrt directly. The existing license allows you to have simultaneous install on three desktop devices, not sure how that carries over to iOS. FWIW, I would say you can be relatively certain that it will allow install on up to three iOS devices, assuming you have no desktop versions installed. But maybe if you have three desktop installs you need to disable one to install on iOS at all. I'm sure they'll clarify that.
EDIT: I think a Modarrt rep has already confirmed that you can install on as many iOS devices as you want (as long as they share same AppleID) and they will count together as "one" install of the three simultaneous installs their license allows. That info was from Julien in this thread on modarrt site:

Disabled notes are:
F#2 G#2 A#2
C#6 D#6 F#6 G#6 A#6
So you can play in plain CMaj and AMin with no lost notes 😀. Or you could also keep it between B2 and C6, no problem.
Don’t know if it is different for different users.
Lol I’ve already memorized the dead notes and adapted to it pretty quickly to still mostly play what I want to probably not ever need more than the demo but I’ll still be saving for the license
I never did understand what all those weird little black keys are for anyway.
they're just a visual aid
For me, the muted notes were different.
Maybe it resets at each restart.. ??
Demo really is stunning.. Let’s see how much they love sales…
Pick the "Hand Pan - sustain, hand played" preset, which will play full-range. Emulates an impossible instrument that would be as big as your dining room table and cost $20000
Thanks.
Looks like I need a reboot: AUM fails to recognize new AUv3’s occasionally.
Finally settled on the Steinway D and the U4. Was really hard to choose. Love the Tines pack but don't think it's different enough from VTines for me. Some of the other bell type sounds etc I figured could probably be done with an FM synth, if not identically, at least in a similar ball park.
It’s astonishing that my iPad is generating these sounds in real-time.
Will have to get this @Gavinski tell us about the D and post an example. Have you heard the B? @McD and I talked about this day a hundred years ago.
For me in standalone and in AUM they seem to be always the same even after closing the app and opening it up again. Maybe it’s different for different users. What are your disabled notes?
I think I may like the B more @LinearLineman but it’s a tough decision
Has anyone tried this on older hardware such as an iPad Air 2? JAX pianos sound as good as I'll ever need, but the Air 2 really can't handle them.
Ah, good tip! Had missed that.
@LinearLineman You’re able to demo all the sounds with - as previously mentioned - only a few notes missing at the high and low ends of the ranges so you can check out the D and compare to the B yourself. The demo version allows you to run it for up to 45 mins at a time without interruption (as long as you tap the ‘rewind’ button enough times. It’s really an incredibly generous demo. You could really get away with using a lot of these instruments to make tracks without ever bothering to buy the full version. Definitely everyone should download this and check it out, even if not intending to buy a license.
Kicks the ass out of sampled pianos. Really lovely to have so much control. I would really like to have the standard version to be able to tweak the back-end physical modeling parameters, but even the amount of control in the Stage version is impressive.
Wow, that was fast, I literally took a year to choose! I ended up with the Steinway D, and the Bechstein, but also got the Steinway B, the electric pianos, and the steel pans… so far…
the yamaha grand is great for pop/rock/dance.
if you like to ride that sustain pedal and hear massive string resonance the U4 is great.
I have three slots. Looks like iPad and iPhone just took up one as a combo.
Pianoteq and scaler are a great match.
It was too annoying for me not to be able to get the free packs until I had picked lol. And I really didn’t want to think about it too much either - all those pianos sound pretty good. I was very tempted by the Bluethner but felt in the end that those other 2 would be more versatile choices.
Modartt’s PianoTeq’ pricing model is “True Universal” - iPhone, iPad, Mac (M series and Intel). Is there another app that covers all 4 for one price?
True universal? What good is a piano app that doesn't even run on iWatch?
