Is there a way for user presets/banks made on a phone to transport them to the ipad version?

  • No one an idea?

You definitely can, the app has import and export features. Can't remember the procedure offhand but it's there in the manual for sure if you look. Export on the iPhone, then send via email or a file sharing website or whatever to your iPad, then import.

    Thank you very much.

  • I don’t understand how to exchange user presets between noises on iphone and ipad.

I made a folder in the clouddrive

That folder is now on the iphone as well as the ipad with the same content.

But when I try to load the banks or presets the files are all greyed out so you cant load them.

Have you tried setting the folder to “Keep downloaded” on the Files app? I can see if this works on my end later today

Edit: that said, “Export current bank”, transfer, and then “Import bank” didn’t work for you?

    No that didn’t work.
I exported to a folder in the files app
And then tried to import it on the other device.

I just tried and it worked for me with a new bank, going from ipad to iphone. I had to import it twice for it to show up in the list though. I can't find an existing folder for Noises on iCloud Drive so I don't think the automatic approach would work.

No there is no existing folder for noises.

So I made one in the files app in the icloud drive.

Ithe folder with user banks and presets does show up on the other device.

But I cant choose them to import in noises because they are greyed out.

    Very weird.

    Are the banks zip files?

    No
But now I noticed that Aum also doesn’t share the recordings between the devices.

So it must be my mistake

Maybe a setting of some sort?

  • Forgetting the aum thing for the moment @Meek3, the file is presumably greyed out because it's not a zip file but noises is expecting a zip file when it tries to import a bank.

  • And I think, if I remember right that the zip has to have been done the right way when zipping. It must have the wav files inside the zip, but they shouldn't be in a folder. If they in a folder it won't work. I think anyway that it's like that, can't remember and can't check now, no iPad access

    Oh thanks. I’ll try that.
So zip the wavs and no folders.

Yep. Separate zip for each bank, inside each zip put the wavs for that bank, no folders.

But using the export bank feature from the source device should generate a correctly structured zip file anyway, right? At least it does for me. How did you generate the files that your were trying to import @Meek3?

  • As for AUM, does it even have iCloud sync or is the recordings folder exposed under iCloud Drive? I couldn’t find a setting for that. I think that you may be expecting for certain things to work in a way that’s not really supported.

    No it doesn’t work
The zip file is not greyed out and I can choose it.
Then in noises a beam appears which shows that something is being loaded.
But neither the user banks or presets show up

    Forgot about that

I gonna bet it's some kind of human error here tbh. Hopefully you can figure it out tho

  • Yes I think so too
For now I just loaded the same samples again.

I just thought that it would be a lot easier sharing files between devices.

    Also samplecrate for example
The crates I made on my iphone don’t automatically appear on my ipad. : (

  • I bought this along with a number of apps ( they all good )

    With noises though.

Just wondering if theres a sample length needed in bars because sound imported became squashed when it got to moving the main dial ( not when auditioning samples ) on the import page though.

But mainly if theres any similar app that can be multiout ( for fx ) but keep the main component of Noises, of being able to scrub/scroll a buffer ( like the main dial does ) but be multiout.

Not sure it can be built in any apps.

    Loopy, Drambo or Koala.

Is it pitched, speed or timetretched ( the main dial )

    ?

I don't think, that a buffer is scrubbed, when you move the center dial, I think it just cross-fades between different noisesamples.

Yeah I think it's that. You used to have weird artfacts when the max crossfade time was set to the default ( 5 secs I think) but if you changed it to off it was smoother... BUT I think they fixed that in a recent update.

If you manually move the dial. The sample will just linger/freeze. A bit like granular or spectral ( not in sound ) but functionality.

I guess thats what I mean and doubt theres a multiout version for fx.

I mean Hainbach samples are good enough for the money but do sound experimental like granular or spectral ( in some sense )

So wonder if I should just use spectral and granular apps with lfos etc.

A bit slimey to seek alternatives on someones page.

  • edited April 15

    Although I need the money.

Its worth it for the banks and samples.

Even if used with other spectral app types.

  • edited April 15

    What I ment.

Is it some sort of spectral sample player.

A normal sample just plays through with a key.

This app can linger and reverse.

    But seems cleaner than spectral.
