If you own Mela 3 you can use the bundle to buy it at a discount: https://apps.apple.com/app-bundle/crossgrade-to-mela-4/id1687278264

If you own NFM, I will be creating the "NFM & Mela 4" bundle and that will be another way to get Mela 4 at a discount.

  • I own almost all of your apps 🥲 except Mela 4 and lyrics View, as far as I know 🤔 (have to double check that, when I’m on iPad).
„Upgrade“ costs 30€ so this is a little bit too high for me now. But I can wait and safe ❤️
Because I think all (most) of you developing people deserve that money the apps cost now!

  • This guy deserve my monney even if I have no time to use Mela4 being into new Logic IPad. I bought it as a support.

Last time I will support dev as now I should buy only AUv3 apps that are better than what is provided as stock plug ins and that give me very quick result.

So you know @Nikolozi that I bought it just to support you and I will support anymore dev just to support I will bought my new rules will be only to buy the best apps that save my time to have a quicker result à very good UI , certainly AI help to make your result better quicker.

The game have change and I change my rules like a guy who will be dying in 10 years time. No apps that waste my precious time please.

The game. I’ll become like that @Nikolozi and from my friends I k ow that big corp reaseach guys like you with good skill in music and they are scarce on the market. At Apple you can join great iOS music Texans, good salaries and keep update Mela as it is an app you did before you are Ape employee if you make this choice.

  • So as promised I created a custom beta build with a Theme Designer in Mela 4.1 (build 88). Note, this is an experiment. Full details are here: https://mela-feedback.nikolozi.com/feature-requests/p/theme-designer-for-beta-builds-only

Lyrics View was my first iOS app, and I tried to discontinue it but got too many emails from people requesting it. So, I ended up updating to v3 and I'm just waiting until people stop using it so I can remove it from the App Store :). Apparently, a lot of singers use it with their background music loaded in the Music app. It's def not for the Audiobus Forum peeps :)

Fair enough, maybe the NFM bundle will work out cheaper. Anyway, I will have a sale at some point for sure :)

Thank you for your support, and with Mela I hope to deliver more value than built-in plug-ins. Otherwise there's no point :)

I tried to reverse those colors for a dark config, but the problem is the background of the keyboard.
It needs to be dark too:

Ah, it's a bug. If you restart the app the background will fix itself. I'll look into fixing it.

This is the version I had in my debug builds for the inverse version of white:

    F7F7F7
    A8A8A8
    FDFDFD
    262626
    121212

@tja that's all you wanted? just black and white themes? ;)

btw, I just pushed the fix for the virtual musical keyboard background not refreshing (build 89).

Btw I was always a fan of the white one, not so much the black one. But because I received negative feedback from others, I didn't think it was worth adding just another theme in case someone else also liked it.

Now, I am not so much into colorful themes in general, they are mostly hard on my eyes (am also slightly color-blind).

    fair enough.

So, a black / grey / white combination for a day and a night theme is important for me!

But I know that people have lots of feelings towards colors in a GUI!
So, offering this picker to all would be best, IMHO!
People can be very individual ....

Ok cool, I'll think about this some more.

You can still offer your former themes and maybe the two variants above for a clean, functional interface 😅🤗

    Just my thoughts

P.S. Your bright theme is great!

    That's great to hear 🧡

    No review by Apple needed?

Apple reviews only the first beta build of a version. So, I can instantly distribute 4.1 beta builds since the first build was approved. But if I want to start distributing 4.2 builds it would need to be approved first.

  • @Nikolozi am I missing how to map pitch bend and mod wheel? I’m looking but not seeing it.

You use an instance of MIDI Source modulator and select Pitch Bend or Mod Wheel as input. In 4.1 beta, MIDI Source supports MIDI CC types also and has a new smoothing parameter.

If you want to map Pitch Bend for Pitch signal manipulation it's even easier to do that in 4.1 beta, simply insert the new Pitch Bend Pitch Processor module on an instrument lane.

Not on the beta unfortunately but that sounds excellent, I got it figured out now. Thanks for the reply!

Is hard-sync between oscillators or this self-hard-sync feature (like from ButterSynth) somewhere near completion, @Nikolozi ?

Just because I'm currently running around my Synths with this feature 😅

Not yet, a few other things have a higher priority atm, though people are asking for it. You should vote :)

@Nikolozi Please, please take the time to add preset import and export (or just iTunes file sharing and Files support) for NFM.
I'm not a Mela user and NFM is just perfect for doing pure FM sound design.
Been patiently waiting for quite some time now and I trust in you ;)
    Thanks!

As promised, I did look into this, but there's a major issue that prevents me from adding this feature. I explain this in comments here: https://mela-feedback.nikolozi.com/feature-requests/p/nfm-preset-importexportbackup

I'm happy to explain in more detail if not clear from the post on the site, but a super short version is that because the app was transferred from my old developer account to a new one, it somehow didn't transfer the ownership of the thing called a group container ID, which is a way of accessing shared files between the app and its AUv3 extension. And in the case of NFM, and all my other apps it's used for the app and AUv3 to have access to the directory on the user's device where presets are stored. What this means is, if I push an update NFM users may gain import/export functionality but all users will use their existing presets. So, I think for now it's best not to do an update. Maybe one day NFM stops working because of some iOS update and as part of that fix that I'll need to do, I'll include import/export functionality.

Update: So, the one day I mentioned earlier, might be today lol. I was just testing NFM inside Logic Pro for iPad and it seems state saving is broken. Are you a Logic user, can you reproduce it on the iPad? Could be Logic's fault, but could be an issue on the NFM side that needs resolving. One solution I can think of for you is to save all your presets in AUM, i.e. AUM will hold the NFM preset files. Then once I push the update you can "re-import" them from NFM, by opening them one by one and saving them inside NFM. This is a manual process, but better than losing the presets.
And hopefully part of this fix I can add import/export. Keep in mind these are all theories in my head, I haven't tried to debug anything yet, so these are just ideas atm.

Cool idea! And yes, I could live with that :)
    Thanks a lot!

Edit: I only have Logic on Mac, sorry.

Ok, just letting you know you should back up (via AUM) your NFM presets soon. I just submitted the NFM v1.2 update and I will release it soon after Apple approves it. Here's the Changelog 1.2:

    Preset Import/Export:

    • You can now swipe right a User preset to export it.
    • Long pressing the Save button now gives you the option to export all User presets, or to import presets from Files.
    • You can also drag and drop preset files onto the NFM's UI from the Files app to import/open them.

    Other Changes:

    • In Logic Pro for iPad, the NFM's tile will now display the FM Drive, Distortion and Output parameters.
    • Updated the app settings with the latest support links.
    • Fixed NFM not restoring its state correctly in Logic Pro for iPad.
    • Various small fixes and improvements.
    • Updated the User Guide.
